Definitely a must visit for family with kids. It has many retired trains around. Good for bday party as well. You can actually have party inside those trains.\r \r Entrance is free but donations is suggested more

Even though it still retains its charming ""mini"" train that you can ride around the ""park"", they have definitely improved upon the attraction. They've not got a great area where they can put ""out of commision"" trains so they can be refurbished. They've cleaned up the park a little to make it more family friendly. I was recently here with my niece and her two little boys. It was their first visit...and I have to say it put smiles on my face to see a 3 & 6 year old romp around the trains with their conductor hats. The younger one didn't like the mini train much....but he'll grow out of it, I suppose. I definitely recommend the Travel Town ""Museum"" to families. There's plenty of parking, the picnic facilities are better than they used to be. It can be part of a Griffith Park adventure day...the observatory...the merry-go-round...the zoo...and picnic at Travel Town. Pros: free more

OK, so there's no laser shows, death-defying rides or furry cartoon characters, there's just a bunch of old, empty trains. But toddlers sure seem to love to climb on the ""choo-choos."" And there's never a line for the ride around the park in the mini-train. Pros: inexpensive Cons: gets hot in summer more
