Best service and pricing!!! 10/11/2008

After searching online for local tint shops in SJ, I came across Mr. Tint and Tint's R Us.\r My little bro had a bad past experience with Mr. Tint so I had to scratch those scrubs off my list. \r I read the positive reviews and decided to give Tint's R Us a try. They were able to schedule my appointment the following day. Trying to find this place is a challenge as it is run out of a small garage next to a house. I passed it a few times but finally found it. Juan and his 2 assistants were working on new 09 VW Passat TDI. Juan apologized that he was running a little behind and offered me a seat on the couch and the big screen TV remote. I asked the VW owner how he found Tint's R Us and he mentioned his local Audi dealership referred him to Juan's business. The VW owner was very happy with his windows, and soon it was time to tint my new 08 Trailblazer SS. Since I was only having the 2 front windows done, Juan offered me a small $10 discount. I paid $90 total ($45 for each window) Juan and I believe it was his wife took the time to explain the various tint options. They showed me a few of their own vehicles as examples. Juan and his wife seemed a little stressed and mentioned their new puppy was very sick and hadn't eaten in a few days. I saw the puppy and it looked very sad and weak. I offered to reschedule my appointment but Juan generously declined and said he'd finish the job while his wife took the puppy to the vet. Juan and his crew took their time and did a fantastic job and he even offered a few tips on how to maintain my newly tinted windows (avoid cleaning products with ammonia and to park my car in the sun for the next day or so in order for any trapped water bubbles to evaporate) I was extremely satisfied and paid the full $100! I highly recommend Tint's R Us to anyone in need of great service, pricing, and workmanship. Thanks Tint's R Us!!!!\r \r P.S. I hope the puppy is feeling better. Pros: Great customer service, good pricing, excellent work!!!! more

Exceptional workmanship 6/27/2007

? June 23, 2007 \r ? $249 for full car (except windshield)\r ? Lifetime guarantee no bubbling or peeling or fading or discoloring. Juan has been window tinting for 15 years, and has had his own business for 11 years.\r ? Juan installs at your location on weekdays. Installation on weekends at his San Jose shop only. \r ? Juan offers you a choice of 3 films ? 3M HP (high performance), ProtectGard HP, and Solargard Colorfast NR. I was disappointed that he didn?t carry the Solargard HP film, and so I chose to go with ProtectGard. More detail on each below.\r ? Your choice of shades: 5% is darkest as it only lets in 5% of light and it is common used on limousines and vans, then there is 15%, 20%, 35% and 50%. Local laws limit how dark you can go on front side windows. You are considered to be pretty safe from citation when using 35%. Once you get to 20%, you are really risking a ""fix it"" ticket. \r ? We chose 35% for the side windows and 15% for the rear window. \r ? We rate the quality of Juan's work as outstanding. He does the work himself with two assistants. \r ? Juan recommends you use an Ammonia-free glass cleaner ? the best is Sprayway glass cleaner ? you can buy it at Safeway for $3 a can.\r Pros: Great Workmanship Cons: Does not offer Solargard HP (High Performance) film more

Great Customer Service and Work.. and convenient! 6/7/2007

I gotta say I wish I knew about Juan's service earlier. I have been wanting to tint my Acura for the past year or so but never found the time to drop off my car at a regular shop. I came across the first reviewers comments when searching for a tinting place in San Jose so figured I'd give them a chance. I almost went with some place my friends went to near Santana Row (forgot the name) since they got a ""lifetime guarantee"" too but they paid over $500 so I was a little hesitant. After getting a quote from this place I immediately booked. I scheduled an appointment and within a few days (I happened to book during memorial weekend) they showed up at my work. I was a little nervous because I had no idea how much I wanted to tint my car considering I wanted it to look good but yet not be a cop magnet. Juan was nice enough to cut a few different levels of tint and putting on a window to compare how it looks and also explained why the back window should be darker then the rest b/c of all the extra light coming from the windshield. In the end I went with the ""standard"" tint (30%?) on side windows and 25 on the rear, enough to give it a good look but not too far as to be bait for cop ""quota week"" if you know what i mean :) The reason I say they have great customer service is because I noticed a scratch on the passenger front window and an akward cut that is hidden 80% of the time (near the top left corner of one of the windows) but knowing that it was there bothered me so I called Juan up and he came the very next morning (today) to totally re-do the front two windows at no charge! So not only does the tint have a lifetime guarantee, Juan goes out of his way to make sure you are fully satisfied with his work, since most of his business is word of mouth I presume (heck-- thats how I found him). Good customer service like this is rare these days so I want to go out of my way to make sure the word gets out that you will be treated right using this Tinting service. Pros: Service, Price, Quality of work Cons: Only issue I had was probably because I was nitpicking.. but even then, they fixed it :) more

Hands-down best tint job/service in the Bay 5/17/2007

After browsing through various forums searching for a good tint shop for my 2007 Honda Accord, I repeatedly came across Tint's R Us, also known as Juan's Tint's R Us. Not only was Juan's Tint's R Us highly recommended by all who had gone to him, but he also is willing to come out to your residence to do the tint job on your car, potentially saving you a few hours of driving to his shop and waiting around. Instead, you're free to conduct your business as usual as he and his associates work on your car, using all the equipment they come with. Best of all, he does not charge extra. \r As for the tint job itself, he offers a lifetime guarantee against any fading, bubbling, discoloring, etc. He even offered a few tips on which window cleaner he prefers.\r Oh, and if you're looking to get more than one car done, ask for a discount. He knocked $50 off the price of the second car (granted they were the same models), but he's a polite and reasonable guy.\r All in all, although it may not be the cheapest, it's certainly not on the pricy end, and if you care about getting a quality job done, you're better off paying a moderate amount (no more than necessary, as more expensive does NOT necessarily mean better quality) more
