I love the food and the little old lady is so sweet. I have never had a problem or gotten sick, and I have eaten here at least 8-10 times already since I live close. I think the other person maybe was just sick for a different reason...especially since they say it was a few DAYS later they got sick. If food makes you sick you would get sick very quickly after eating, not several days after. The only thing I don't like is that she keeps the fortune cookies in a jar and reaches in with her hand or lets people do it so I don't eat the fortune cookies anymore. more

The Best Thai in LA... 5/8/2010

I've been to Thailand twice. Out of the many thai restuarants I've been to in LA, Thai Pepper is by far my favorite. You can spend less than $15 there and get a beer, an entree, rice, and tea. Yes, that cheap. I recommend the tom yum sum, noodles with egg, veg. coconut soup, and the orange chicken. Since there is only one cook, orders can take awhile. Still, grab a $2 Singha beer and relax... cause you have great food coming your way. Pros: Super cheap, Consistantly awesome food, Cons: Orders can take awhile to come out. more

awesome neighborhood thai restaurant 5/28/2008

don't listen to the stupid, trashy hipster. food-borne illnesses take affect within 24-48 hours, not ""days later."" the thai pepper is well deserving of its A rating. just ask the numerous people who have been going there for years. some have moved away and continue to drive in just to get their favorite foods, and some even eat there every day, more than once a day. this place is owned and run by a super nice lady who serves dependable, good food. if you're in hollywood and looking for tasty everyday thai food, this is the place. Pros: inexpensive, good, solid food; nice service; catch up on your tabloids for free Cons: mom and pop place, so there can be a wait when they're busy more

Despite having an ""A"" rating, still left us sick 3/12/2007

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out. Big mistake. I got a bad feeling when there was no soap in the bathroom.
