Tara Thai has an interesting marine decor that I always find kind of fun. It's a pretty casual place, and the service is good and quick. The food is pretty good, but it's more expensive than many Thai restaurants in the DC area. There is a bar, and the cocktails are strong and very good!
This restaurant is about 4 blocks from the Bethesda metro. The area is really nice- there's a movie theater a block away, and lots of bars and coffee shops.
