This is a salon/ spa for dogs. It is quite upscale, and not exactly necessary. Still, for doggie prom or whatever, your dog must look the best, and Bone Jour is the place. Morgan hates it because Mom isn't there, but he is well fed and attended. The dogs look great, but smell a little flowery after an appointment. Expensive.

I've tried a few dry cleaning services in the area, and I love their 2nd day service, and they do a great job getting stains out of my clothes. Also, they take 20% off when you bring in 5 or more items, shirts not included. I also love their late hours, open till 8PM, so even when I get out of work late, I can still pick up my dry cleaning. Great place, with friendly service.

After coming here from a place that wanted to charge me $85 for a simple hem, I was happy to pay $35 for it since it is in Bethesda. The first place already had it pinned at the correct length, so I thought I might get a bit of a discount, but I did not. However, the service was good, the turn around time on completing the alteration was approximately a week and I had no surprised waiting for me. Good alterations.

OMG, I *love* going to see Peaches O'Dell and Her Orchestra! I used to go see them at the Black Cat in downtown DC when I lived closer to the city.
Peaches has various costume changes throughout her show, which made me "fall in love" with her. I mean, how cool is it that she gets to wear various sparkly dresses in ONE evening!
The music is fantastic, Swing and Big Band style.

I have been a client of (Michael) "Boy" Sharp for years & he is the best hair stylist I've ever been to. This is true for both cuts & color. He is also very personable. His prices are a little expensive, but there are other hairdressers in this region who charge twice as much. Also, his assistant KANG gives outstanding head massages.

Motophoto is a comprehensive store where you can take in any media for development whether it be film or digital. They have digital machine where you can edit, crop, and choose your prints and they can print in about an hour. The service here is fairly helpful, though not always prompt. They really have some unique photo frames, scrapbook supplies, and other photography supplies. The processing is top quality and I did not run in to any development problems.

Dr. Kerske had been my vet for many years, and he did a good job for my pets for most of that time. However, my last experience with this vet was not good. My beloved Pit Bull named Daffodil had a very severe urinary tract infection, which caused her to vomit and have diarrhea, which continued for three weeks, during which time she lost a lot of weight and became week. She was an elderly dog with other medical conditions, so being unable to hold down her food was not good for her. Dr. Kerske never took any X-rays, a urine or a blood sample to determine the cause of her distressing symptoms. Instead, he kept switching her foods, presuming that she had a food intolerance. When Daffy became so week that I had to rush her to the ER, she was found to have a severe UTI, which had gone untreated for several weeks, while Dr. Kerske was "treating" her by switching her food. At the ER, the UTI was diagnosed in 20 minutes and treatment with Biaxin was initiated, resulting in Daffodil's full recovery. When I asked Dr. Kerske about his reasons for not running the same tests as were run at the ER, he did not have the honesty to own up to his mistakes. He gave some confused explanations to the State Veterinary Board about having the "same concerns" as the vets at the ER and stated that he had referred me to a specialist (for what, a urine test?) and had "repeatedly refused the referral." I would NEVER refuse a referral for any of my pets, and it was simply untrue that he had referred me. Very sad to see a grown man lie a six-year-old kid. The Board did find that Dr. Kerske should have been "more proactive" in treating Daffodil.

I went into Ritz camera to get passport photos taken. They take them with a digital camera, which is nice because you can see them before they're printed. The salesman who helped me was very happy to take a second photograph. It was a half hour wait because of something with the printing machine, so I came back later that day. They were very expensive pictures! I can't remember the exact price so I won't quote one, but definitely more than double what you'd pay at a drugstore. They were also much nicer pictures though, so if you care about how your passport picture looks, I definitely recommend Ritz camera. The salesman was very helpful, so in the end it was OK.
The store is about 2 blocks from the Bethesda metro.

Bethesda Country Day School is small but the teachers are great. the building is not in great condition but there are great learning experiences. they also have summer camps which are definately geared towards the younger crowd. if you are looking for a better summer camp try the ymca across the street.
