We hired Matt from Tanya and Matt's Ice Cream and Ice Sculptures to provide ice sculptures for our wedding. We chose Matt over other companies because he was competitively priced. What a disappointment! One sculpture was supposed to be a star fish. All of our family agreed it looked like the top star on a Christmas tree. The other sculpture was supposed to be a shot luge. However, it didn’t even function correctly because it was designed poorly. Both sculptures had very poor craftsmanship and were nothing like what we expected. Halfway through the reception one of the sculptures shifted out of place and crashed toward the floor! Matt’s response was that someone at the hotel should have watched it. I feel that is what we paid for….for his company to make sure everything was secure. The ice sculptures should have been built to last a few hours (we had in indoor air conditioned reception); it’s a wedding …not a 30 minute luncheon! Through many conversations Matt made no attempt to compensate us for the disaster we paid for. He offered a gift card to his ice cream shop. We politely declined due to the fact that we had a destination wedding and had no use for the gift card. He offered a monetary refund in which he never even sent! It’s more important to us to write a real review and save other brides and grooms than to receive a refund.
