Sushi Usa

six of us went there Friday night at 7 pm sharp, we immediatly saw 4 tables unseated, with lots of dirty dishes still sitting around. I noticed there were about 4 to 5 staff there, but there were all hiding in the kitchen. After 10 minutes, a waitress started cleaning one table for us, but she cleaned a table of 4, and when she noticed we have 6 (we told her 6!), she went back and cleaned the other table. Another 5 mins of waiting. We ordered softshell crab rolll, albacore roll, rainbow roll, catepilla roll, lobster roll, a dynamite and one other cheesy thing I forgot what it was. Plus a crab salad. We waited for 45 minutes. There were other table still hadn't gotten their food yet. Then came our rolls. We had green tea each, 1 green tea is 1.95 dollars. I think we waited 50 minutes for our rolls to arrive. The food doesn't taste that bad, because everything is pretty much smothered with mayonase. Except catepilla and softshell crab roll. All the rolls averaged 10 dollars each. We ended up paying 90+ dollars for 6 people. We are not even having nigiri sushi. The green tea there already cost us 12 bucks, 5 rolls there, 50 bucks, dynamite, and another dish, man, it's just too pricey for waiting 50 minutes and we were not filled, I was still hungry. On top of that, you know those little black rectangular platter that restaurants use for checks/bills and changes and coins? They use that as our plates!!! I'm sorry, but I just can't use that stuff, it's like I keep having a picture of credit cards and dirty changes sitting on that platter and it was dirty! To make thing worst, I got an episode of bad bowel movement the next day. I had nothing else after that meal there and my bowel was growling that same night. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but the price there and the quality of the food and service is NOT worth it. With 100 bucks for 6 people there are so many good sushi restaurant out there that has fresh food and good services. We weren't given free desert either. Pros: Good environment. Cons: Too pricey, felt ripped off, food taste so so, got sick eating their stuff, bill/check plate used as plates more

Sushi USA is one of the best sushi restaurants I have every been. This is a small family owned restaurant that will serve you delicious fruit and edamame for an appetizer and mochi icecream for desert, all compliments of the house. Though it has a drive up window this is not a fast food restaurant. The sushi is fresh and the portions are great. The dishes are served beautifully prepared. They also serve teriyaki bowls and other Japanese dishes that are just as excellent for those who do not want sushi. I have been to almost every sushi restaurant in San Diego, and this is the one I will always come back too. more
