Seattle Nanny Network Inc.

This spring I applied to be a nanny through the Seattle Nanny Network agency (SNN) and got a job that started in March. On the SNN website it stated that nannies would get a ""signing bonus"" of $100 after completing one month of employment with a family that they were placed with through the agency. But when I asked them about this in April, they said that it was a mistake and they are no longer offering the bonus. However, they said that they would honor it with me, since the information had not been removed from their website. The problem is that ever since then, they have been telling me that the agency is having financial issues and they cannot afford to pay my bonus yet. I was asked to wait until September. When I contacted them recently, they still said that they cannot pay my bonus and gave me no indication of how much longer it will be. This is very frustrating to me, since I am putting myself through school right now and that money would help with my tuition (I am in a certificate program at Bellevue College, so it doesn't qualify for any federal aid). If their business is in such bad shape that they cannot afford $100, even after 5 months, then I'm not sure how they are still in business. Until this incident I would have been happy to recommend this agency to other nannies and families seeking care, but after the way they have treated me I don't think that I can. I have submitted a complaint to the BBB and will update this review if and when they follow through on their promises more

I am a temp nanny for the Seattle Nanny Network and have nothing but great things to say about this company. The staff is wonderful and they really do help to find you a family that is similar to you and your personality. Finding a job as a nanny is complicated. It's hard to know for sure if you will be a good fit and finding the right fit is so important when kids are involved. I was offered positions with other families, but I chose to work with Seattle Nanny Network because they work hard to make sure it's a good match. I knew the challenges families had before being sent out to meet with them and they could read my profile and see if my style matched their ideas about parenting. No one had to waste time on countless interviews to find out if it would be a good fit. I love the family that I am placed with and their needs perfectly match my skills. We got two different nannies through this agency and they were both awful. After firing both of them we found out that the agency regularly places nannies that have known ""issues"". They are just selective about what background facts and reference checks they share with you. The clincher to it all is they continued to place both of them after we fired them. After the 2nd firing they didn't even ask us why and then immediately placed her with another family. I think with the heavy use of the internet now they are having problems getting nannies to go through them and will not let go of one even if there are problems. Do not go here! There are much better places to find nannies in Seattle. Your paying thousands of dollars to get a product you can do yourself. But if you don't have the time I'd try a more professional service and one that's a better bet for your money! more

SNN helped us find our current nanny - who is absolutely wonderful. And we found her in less than two weeks!! Their background checks, internivews and references on each canidate gave my husband and I a piece of mind when choosing the right nanny for our daughter! They are prompt, organized and professional. I have used SNN for the past 3 1/2 years and found them to be courteous, reliable, and professional. They have always found wonderful, qualified temporary nannies and are very good about honoring requests for certain nannies. One time they were unable to find a nanny for me (I had given them less than 24 hours notice, and figured it was a long shot), and were nice enough to waive the fee for the next time I used their services. As a nanny who has used this service many times I would not recommend it. The placements are often with high maintenance mothers who treat nannies poorly. Not to mention the agency doesn't help until you give your notice to the current family leaving you high and dry if you don't find another connection right away. It seems they only care about making a sale at Seattle Nanny Network. The staff is very money hungry and lacking customer service. I have used SNN for several years and the service has gone way down hill with new staff members. They need to learn the ethics of business, return customers and manners. There are plenty of other staffing networks who offer quality and professionalism. Keep looking for better service if your thinking of calling SNN! They provided great nannys for us to interview and provided all the services needed in that space. We love our current nanny from them. Post placement service has been a problem as a temp-nanny we requested a month in advance no-showed and we got an invoice threatening collections for a 55$ debt that was less than a month old. It was a real hardship to take the time off work to cover for the no-show. Getting a threat of collections, after paying them over 3K over the last six months is simply rude in my mind but I guess it is their right to do so. Our family has considered Seattle Nanny Network a part of our family since the birth of our son almost three years ago. I would consider ourselves to be somewhat 'heavy users' of the agency, and have found the nannies provided us to be very professional, responsible, and fun as playmates. I love this business. I can call with short notice and find a temp nanny for my child or I can hire a pre-screened nanny that has passed background checks, driving records and has a education degree! I interviewed several of their nanneis and I was impressed by the quality of their childcare providers. I have recommended them to all my friends and family as well.
