If you are visiting you must stay at least a few nights at the Renaissance. Yes it is a bit pricey but it is true Hollywood. You can get a room with a few of the Hollywood sign....

I was so excited to stay in the Renaissance Hotel on our last visit to Hollywood! It's a breathtaking hotel; beautiful artwork in the lobby, gorgeous rooms, and every room I've booked has had a beautiful view. more

Fun & Classy 1/5/2009

One of my favorite all time hotels it combines the excitement of hollywood with the sophistication of a luxurious five star hotel. From the moment you valet your car before the search lit waterfall you know you are in trendy Hollywood at a luxurious level. The rooms are fun and classy with amazing views of Hollywood and the LA basin. Can't complain about the price because you are in LA. Recommend it to anyone looking to party it up in LA and need a place to crash while still feeling like they are at the party. Pros: Uniquely Sophisticated Cons: Traffic in and out more

Hollywood at its Best 3/6/2008

If you are visiting you must stay at least a few nights at the Renaissance. Yes it is a bit pricey but it is true Hollywood. You can get a room with a few of the Hollywood sign. You are next to the Kodak theatre and the Hollywood and Highland shopping center. A must. more

Location location location 3/5/2008

If you are a tourist or a California resident that's looking to go party in downtown Hollywood and want to stay close to all the main attractions then this is the place for you. It's close to the Kodak theatre, the Man's Chinese Theatre and is surrounded by shopping and all kinds of great places to eat! more

Nice room, Great healthy restaurant, friendly staff! 6/1/2007

Great place to stay! Everyone is very friendly and helpful, our room quiet (it was memorial weekend...very busy, but we requested a room at the end of the hall), and the Twist restaurant was surprisingly good! We eat very healthy... and we were not disappointed! Omelets, fruit, oatmeal (and lots more...) for breakfast, and they had a great dinner menu, most of which looked very good -and- healthy. However, they have a dinky little fitness room (I think the Roosevelt, which is just down the street, has a big, newly renovated one?). We went to the LA fitness club which is just two blocks down Hollywood Blvd (meh... $20 for one day?...) to work out. Overall, I'd definitely come back, because of Twist. (on another note, if you're going to the Pantages Theatre...take a taxi, it's a bit of a walk). Pros: Friendly staff, loved Twist Cons: Fitness "room" (literally, its just a room) more

Great hotel 4/9/2007

Spent the weekend here with the family over Easter weekend. Fabulous hotel in a great location. The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were all very attentive. We had dinner and breakfast at Twist, the hotel restaurant and the food there were also outstanding. The full buffet breakfast @ $20 was a steal, shame we are not big eaters. Included in my package was a discount card to the shopping mall attached to the hotel, my wife was happy. Pros: Weekend deal, Twist restaurant Cons: None more

You can't get more Hollywood than this 11/16/2006

It's like staying in a cross between a mall, luxury hotel, and movie set. This entire hotel complex is kind of over the top, but a fun place to stay. Twist restaurant is yummy and the outdoor pool area is nice too. Pros: Hollywood ambience, location, convenience Cons: Big and overwhelming more

Staying here is a MUST! 11/12/2005

If you love Hollywood you MUST MUST MUST stay here!!! You can request a room that overlooks the Hollywood sign, which was a dream come true for my daughter! You exit the hotel right into the Hollywood & Highland complex, where there is upscale shopping, a Johnny Rockets and the famous Kodak Theater (where they hold the Oscars). You then walk right out onto Hollywood Blvd where the Manns Chinese Theater is. The pool area has private cabanas free for guest use and a bar. We enjoyed sipping drinks in our cabana in between swims. The staff was so nice and our stay here was perfect! more

Great Service 5/11/2005

I just finished working a live television show (that's usually shot in NYC, but the crew was here in LA for a week) - and they all stayed at this hotel and I heard nothing but great things about it. The rooms grounds are kept in outstanding condition. The service is ALWAYS with a smile (no exaggeration) - the valet guys are friendly and helpful, the front desk is super accomodating... plus, this hotel is located right at the famous HOLLYWOOD & HIGHLAND intersection, so when out of town guests are in, they're close to everything that's cool about Hollywood. more

My Hollywood vacation 3/28/2004

This hotel is simply great! My family stayed at the Renaissance for two days while in Los Angeles visting my brother and we loved it. It has very modern style, with a big, bright modern lobby, and great rooms equipped with everything you need, including a CD player! The restaurant. Twist, is excllent and we ended up eating there twice. Wonderful vegitarian options, by the way. I especially loved the outdoor pool, with a breathtaking view over LA. I must say, that the staff also was very friendly. Great California feel!!! Thanks Hollywood! "I'll be back." more

Hollywood BABY! 12/11/2002

We all came in for the holidays to see my sisters new baby, and stayed here for three nights. Wow! Beautiful place!!! with lots of great artwork and eclectic touches like a rock garden and a fish in a bowl in the room. My wife loved how the staff had the name of their favorite movies on their name tag. Anyway, Hollywood has changed a lot (for the better!) since we were last here, and this place is probably the best part of it all. Congratulations to my sisters family and new baby Claire!!!!! We love it! 12/10/2002

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at this hotel and loved it! The "mid century" modern decor, the rooms..... the restaurant TWIST (with sushi!!!!) ...the views of Hollywood...were all incredible! We flew in from NY and felt like movie stars as soon as we entered hotel. We were right in the middle of Hollywood, near the Chinese theatr and the new Hollywood and Highland complex. We recomend the hotel to all our friends, and anyone looking for a stylish experience in LA. Thanks for a great stay! Pros: Location, views, sushi bar, really cool! Cons: Nothing! more
