BEWARE!!! These people are swindlers. I pre-paid for a four oil change coupon. I asked for high-mileage oil and came to find out they just put 20w-50 oil instead and charged $13.9...

BEWARE!!! These people are swindlers. I pre-paid for a four oil change coupon. I asked for high-mileage oil and came to find out they just put 20w-50 oil instead and charged $13.99. When I called them on it they wanted to argue with me. After a lot of disrespect and dodging the issue on their part they agreed to take care of me on the next visit with true high mileage oil but they still charged me the $13.99. When I returned in three months they played dumb and refused to honor their prior commitment and told me if I wanted true bigh mileage oil I would have to buy it myself because they don't carry any. I did this and provided the filter. When I asked for a credit for the motor oil and filter they didn't have to provide they refused. These people will rip you off argue with you, and send you down the road. The guy told me when I told him I was going to complain to the better business bureau, "I don't care what you do,I'm not scared. Go ahead and do it. I am refusing you as a customer. This is the worst auto shop in LA. AVOID THIS SHOP AND CALL THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU WITH YOUR COMPLAINTS. Pros: null Cons: null more

Five for Five Star 9/16/2011

These guys have been great at Five Star Tires! George Tarakchyan and Mike Bogosyan have always been accomodating and fair, especially, since I have an older car (1999 Ford). At first I thought they only worked on fancy cars, but they have taken my car in over these last few years and repaired various issues. And it is so convenient to my home. I have recommended you to others. Thanks, Five Star Guys, for your reliable service and as long as I still get great service, I will continue to refer people to you! more

Best Tires & Prices in Hollywood 7/8/2011

I've been going to George Tarakchyan for my mechanical, Tires, and brakes for a few years now. I love their shop, they are so helpful and reliable. Their Prices are great! I have brought my last 2 cars, my girlfriends, my mothers, and my brothers car. more

AVOID for any major repairs 7/2/2011

I have gone to these guys before for minor things like oil changes, and to their credit I will say that they are hustlers and do a good job pleasing customers for those kinda things. more

I dont write reviews, but after the amazing service I recieved at this place...I had to sign up and write this. They have replaced my tired and have done body work on my BMW. I had accident with front and back bumpers. more

Best Mechanic I have found in LA! 6/20/2011

I took my Black Nissan Xterra into Five Star Tires this past Saturday before they closed thinking that my car would be ready monday or Tuesday... Sunday morning George Tarakchyan (the manager) called me explaining what needed to be done to the car before even touching it that way we both make the best decision on repairs... I let him take care of it and my was ready within a couple of hours! It was great because he really explained everything wrong with my car and gave me different options on what I could do to fix the problem... And super affordable... I will definitely take my car back and recommend Five Star Tires to my friends.. George is awesome... They really treat their customers fairly :) Definitely 5 stars more

Reliable and Fair! 5/18/2011

I'm a first time car owner... it's a 1976 that needed to be inspected and worked on before I decided to be it. Mike and the guys at Five Star Tires were very fair and reasonable with me. They explained what needed to be done / what could wait and what everything would cost before they laid a finger on the car. more

5 Stars for Five Star Tires 5/8/2011

True professionals, and incredible customer satisfaction. Mike took my Jeep in @ 8 am. They had an analysis done in about 1/2 hour. Mike pointed out repairs/suggestions (never once being pushy). Went into the main office(very clean). He did a parts and labor breakdown. Said he?d call me if anything else came up and/or just to let me know that things were moving along. He called @ 11:30 am. He said that the parts were ordered and that the price was actually going to be lower due to a part that wouldn?t be needed. Car was ready the next day (as estimated) and my car is running GREAT. Really impressed with their customer satisfaction and I would highly recommend Five Star Tires. It makes me feel really secure that I have a place that I can get professional, honest, and quality service for my car. more

I punctured a tire on my 2009 Challenger yesterday at about 5:58pm; I called and asked if they would stay open long enough for me to get there, about a mile away. They agreed and took care of me right away, dismounted the tire, plugged it, remounted and balanced in about 20 minutes for $30.00. more

Five Star Tires in Hollywood will rip you off!! 3/15/2011

Do not take your car here! I took my Honda there in Nov.It was overheating and the service engine light was on.I needed to pass a smog check.They charged me 100 bucks to diagnose the problem.Said I needed a thermostat and an ecg valve....well ok I said.Cost me 900.00. 2 days later it did not pass the smog and over heated again.They said I needed the engine sludge cleaned out and insisted I needed new shocks and struts. I could only afford the engine cleaning at almost 400.00.Picked up the car..did not pass smog again and I used a fuel additive at this point, recommended by the smog guy to pass.It did.The car over heats again a week later.They keep my car 2 days and tell me they can't find anything wrong but I need new shocks and struts for 800.00. I can't afford it after putting 1300.00 into my car and it still has the service light on and is over heating! I bring it back again..now they say it needs a new catalytic converter,that is the problem.At this point I took it to a trusted mechanic that I had used before.I didn't go to him at first because he was a hour away and thought I would try someone closer.It took my mechanic 3 minutes to diagnose the car.It needed a head job AND my shocks and strut were fine!All the things they fixed were never the problem to begin with cause I needed a head job all along . I went back to Five Star and they said my mechanic got lucky. They had to try these things to see . if that was the problem and they were ruling things out one at a time..yea..at my expense of 1400.00 and wanted another 800.00 for the shocks and struts I also never needed.They then told me the mechanic that worked on my car was just fired.They agreed he was no good.They offered me no compensation. I then had to put another 1800.00 to get it fixed properly by my trusted mechanic....and now it runs great! I don not trust Five Star!!! more

George is awesome. He has taken care of my car (a 1994 toyota) as if it were a Jaguar. The care and honesty of George and Five Star in general never ceases to amaze me. If I have a problem or concern George (who 99% of the time helps me) is always willing to look over the car and never tells me BS about what's going on with my car. Always straight forward and kind, and I will be sure to keep coming back to George and Five Star for years to come! Pros: awesomeness in general Cons: too close, I want everything fixed. more

Great service again 6/29/2010

Time for regular oil check and 75K maintenance. I mentioned a few problems; hum in rear of car, shakes when braking at high speed, probably needs the alignment they recommended I wait on at last visit, and battery is 9 years old. All were addressed during the visit. Advised that battery was fine despite age. Pros: Great service and good advice Cons: None yet more

Fantastic Service 6/14/2010

My daughter had moved to LA recently and i must say Five Star tires was just wonderful. Her car broke down and she brought it to them to repair. The service was amazing George the manager was honest and so kind as a mom in NY and being so concened for my daughters car. They did a amazing and honest job!! Well done to the service that they gave to my daughter. She has gone back there everytime she needs a repair on her car. So i want to thank them all for all of your help. I got a flat tire the other morning and when I put on the spare it was flat as well. I wasn't to far from my apartment so I slowly drove home on it. Pros: Quick Service; reasonable price Cons: none more
