The apple strudel is fantastic, and the best thing here are the potato balls. They have another location in Burbank. Very good prices.

Worst

Pastries and cakes good. Tres leches excellent. Lines are insane....and the architect should be forced into the Arena of the Gods against Spartacus, Forced to line up three dif...

Porto's is an all-time favorite! 11/20/2010

It has been about 15 years since a co-worker took me to this place and it has only gotten better. It's true that they are always very busy but they have a big staff that serves customers quickly and the quality of the food is outstanding! My fave is the guava and cheese strudels, Cuban sandwiches and potato balls....oh and the chorizo empenadas. Actually there is just too many things that are so good,. hmmm... I think I will see if the fam want to do the L.A thing today and we can swing by. We are out in the Riverside area and it's worth the drive, happy munching. more

Everything is amazing except the amount of people that are there everytime that I go. I don't need to talk about this place because it's already famous enough!!! But I love you Porto's can't wait for you to open in Downey!!!!! more

I don't know where to start -- there is so much to love about Portos. The cheese pastry and guava/cheese pastry, their potato balls (like shepard's pie in the round), the pulled pork sandwich, their chicken empanadas, their mango moose... When you eat here its like you died and went to heaven. Culinary ecstasy. A tip for parking: bring lots of change for their new parking system. Pros: CULINARY ECSTASY Cons: Can be very crowded and chaotic more

As good as it is here, there should be someone we can hire to stand in line for us to place orders. This place contains some of the best baked goods yet the people that work there treat customers so poorly and they get away with it. Where else can you get food faster if you speak Spanish? Only at Portos. Pros: Baked goods Cons: Desserts aren't all that, rude customer service. more

I recently ordered a custom cake and favor cookies at Porto's for a baby shower. The prices were reasonable compared to other bakeries. In addition to the great customer service I received, my order was ready within one week. Other bakeries were booked and required custom cake and cookie orders a month in advance. All the guests at the baby shower thought the cuban cake flavor was delicious. Because of the popularity of Porto's there was a slight wait to place an order, but it was worth it!!! more

Overated, Cake's Look Nasty!!! 5/8/2008

I think that this bakery is really overrated. I had the opportunity to have their cakes and sandwiches couple of times and it is never the best. The way their cake's look - it's pretty nasty. I think people just go there to say they have been there. I don't think there is anything special about the food or service. You can go to any bakery, even Ralphs and get a better looking and tasting cake. there is nothing there that amazes me other than the nasty tasting sandwiches and cakes... more

The chorizo pie and the papa rellena (stuffed potato ball) are two of my favorite foods anywhere. And their desert selection is gigantic, and they all look like works of art. I've only had two desserts including the Mango Cheesecake, but it was really good. Pros: Food Cons: Extremely crowded. more
