I started going to Pib's when they were still occupying smaller space a couple doors north of their current location. Those experiences were pleasant. My recent experiences have b...

awesome service 3/23/2011

I enjoyed the environment at Pib's with good music and excellent service from the employee with the pink long dreded locks of hair. She was most helpful and delightful to talk to. My daughter and I came in looking for some odd requests, and she pointed us in the right directon without hesitateing. along with some good ideas. more

No longer a fan... 2/15/2011

I remember Pibs as a funky, warm-welcoming, and happy-go-lucky environment at its old location. Ever since they moved, I feel as though the store has lost its ""spunk."" Not so much with the clothes, accessories, and decor, but mostly with the staff. I realize that some people feel its a waste of time or hassle to greet your customer with a big ole' bright eyed smile, but come on! As soon as you walk in, the employees are sluggishly plopped behind the counter chatting amongst themselves sorting through clothes with a pretentious attitude. Being a customer there just makes you feel out of place and constantly judged. more

pib's exchange is the place to buy your clothes. 10/3/2010

Listen up girls and boys, if you want great new and used clothes go to Pib's exchange. I am from LA and a clothes horse. I buy great Free People, Forever Twenty-one, Bananna Republic, Wet Seal, etc. Big name brand clothes used sometimes new with the tags still on for dirt cheap. I spend up to three hundred dollars a month in that store, its like a drug. I model and act for Wilhelmina, so my clothes are important to me. I can always buy a two or three hundred dollar pair of jeans at pibs for fifteen dollars or so. And sometimes I trade my old stuff for the new, its great. They have great jewery, and shoes, hats, just everything. I just want to say, thanks Pib's Exchange for making me feel like I'm back home in LA and for all the great clothes I have brought from you. And for all the money you have saved me. So Boy's and Girl's, if you want to look great for pennies on the dollar, check out Pib's exchange. more

Legendary!! 8/4/2010

I love this store, I have been a faithful coustomer since it's doors opened..I have always relied on the fashion finds i get there last miniute. and in the scene it has all been done so to find something unusual and nifty is the main goal. true their prices are higher then the D.I. but i never leave without something spectacular!! and the employees I always looked up to. something about how fashion savy/forward they are, would only come from such a place like pib's.. It's everybody's fashion secret, if you dont know your missing out. more

I love Pib's 3/17/2010

This is such a great store and the people are amazing. I read the neg review below and had to comment. It sucks that reviews are mostly written by whiny people. Go there. Decide for yourself. It's the best place to buy costumes for sure. I am writing this on St. Patty's day because I am going to look for green stuff! Pros: Awesome Selection Cons: I don't get to go often enough! more

Pathetic store I hope goes under 7/6/2009

Customer service is horrible. Some butt ugly girl with some stupid pink extensions is the worst. The owner looks like he's been on acid his whole life is an idiot. They'll rip you off in prices. Clothes are not clean before sold. Whoever works there will go nowhere in life. Born to be losers. more

INCREDIBLE! 6/20/2009

I absolutely LOVE this store! If you ask what they're taking then bring in items accordingly, you really can get a lot. They give you almost double if you use the money to buy from their store. I sold a bunch of clothes and had the option of $26 in cash or $48 in credit. And the credit doesn't expire. There's tons of vintage stuff and amazing costumes. I love it. My favorite store in SLC. If you like thrift stores or anything a little bit out of the ordinary, you'll love Pib's Exchange. more

Ugh- horrible! 3/12/2009

Let's see--where do I begin? Prices are awful, clerks are rude, and clothes aren't cleaned! Of course, let's not forget the salespeople who short-change you and scream when you point out their mistake... Cons: Salesgirls more

Avoid this place! 2/21/2009

I love shopping used clothing stores, but this place is awful. Customer service is rude, they overcharge you, and treat customers who actually want to purchase items like the plague. Don't reward bad customer service - go somewhere else!!! Cons: The employees more

THIEFS! 1/8/2009

I went to try and sell some jeans and after they had gone throught them they told me they were not interested in purchasing any of them. Once I returned home I had realized that there was a pair of my jeans missing. I wish I would have considered the warning of an earlier comment and not gone in there. They are thiefs! Pros: Noting Cons: Everything more

My favorite store in SLC 12/18/2008

I love love love Pib's Exchange. I go there all the time and rarely leave empty handed. My husband got me a $25 gift certificate there and I bought 4 things with it! If the service isn't perfect, so what? The clothes are great, I am sold. I reccomend this place to anyone who will listen. more

Pibs has gone downhill 11/14/2008

Pib's exchange was a favorite of mine in my teenage years, offering some great deals for cool clothes. It'd been about two years since my last visit and last week I was in the market for a new jacket. \r Now, I'm 22, not quite old or out of touch ( I think ) and I lean towards a more indie-style (I'd shop at Urban Outfitters if I had the cash and no conscience.) \r \r When I stopped in I was deeply disappointed and felt like a child hood memory had been raped. The music isn't interesting or unique any more, it was some annoyingly raunchy brand of electronica that left me feeling like a seizure was imminent. The staff isn't as great as they used to be, not terribly helpful or friendly, but not exactly rude. The vibe the store gives off is not up to it's usual intriguing treasure-trove of unique clothing I used to feel there. The merchandise is mostly skanky, a lot of it of the j-culture persuasion and the rest is to deeply frumpy for even myself. A lot of the room that used to be devoted t more

Great treasures. . . . Unmedicated bipolar service 4/26/2008

I am an avid fan of Pib's. I have been going in there for over 3 years but recently stopped. The treasures were worth digging through because I ALWAYS left with something I fell in love with. The VERY few employees that DID help me were wonderful and made me feel welcome. The reason I stopped shopping there was when one of the girls made a snide remark about me as I was walking in (I was the only customer in there) - ""She is in here everday. Doesn't she have a life?!"" Sorry that I find joy in shopping in your facility on my way home from a hard day's work. She was also the girl that I had caught her hiding some of my things under the counter and NOT giving me my credit for it. Pros: great selection, fashion staples, variety Cons: parking, snotty employees more

AVOID AT ALL COST!!! 4/8/2008

INSULTING. Pibs Exchange stays in business by.....I have no idea. They are the rudest business I have ever stepped into. I called before going in , then hauled several boxes of nice clothing into their store more

can't complain 3/15/2008

A good many individuals have complained about the service of Pib's this ignores the reality of Pibs you get a reciprocal response to your attitude, the employs can be rude or the nicest people you will ever encounter where else does the employee put on a Elvis wig and challenge you to a heart felt game of ping pong. Pros: atmosphere, value, and moving selection. more

Sweet Selection and prices. 1/8/2008

Pibs new location has gone under a great overhaul, better layout, better selction of clothes, and most importantly the customer service is outstanding! I sold several of my favorite jeans and a few sweaters and was given a fare price with a smile. They have a new staff and they where very friendly with me... Good job Pibs! I look forward to more great finds and trades. Pros: friendly, great prices, new costume selection great Cons: parking more

WORST, BAD, HORRIBLE customer service 4/14/2007

-They don't pay you decently- I got $8 for my stuff that everything was in style, brand new or only been wore twice. They were worth $100. Of course, I didn't expect that much but 8 was totally...surprising. more

go elsewhere 3/1/2007

I just called PIb's to ask about bringing my clothes in and the guy was a totally rude. Its right down the street from my house but i would rather drive all the way to Plato's closet if that means not having to deal with such rude people. more

Not what it used to be! 2/28/2007

Pib's used to be such a great store! There used to be a great variety of clothing, nice employees, and they'd pay you pretty decently for the clothes you sell. Pros: Halloween Cons: Little variety, crappy service more

Editorial
  • In Short
Pib's Exchange caters to a younger crowd interested in very inexpensive clothing. This crowd, however, favors very edgy styles. You won't find any sedate cardigans or sweater...
