A person used to could park on the street, right in front of the Roasting Company and cruise in to buy a cup or a pound. Now they could ride Trax.
The Roasting Company roasts their coffee beans to perfection - in house! The service is excellent. The choice of different coffees to purchase from all over the world makes drinking coffee at home an entirely different experience.
The owner, John, has the most impeccable manners and attention to service of any coffee shop I've ever been at to drink tea or coffee or chai, or even to have dinner.
Pros: Best coffee in town.
Cons: Uncomfortable chairs.

The place has been completely remodeled since I last went in a couple years ago. I think they got new owners in 2006. The desserts slices we all got were out of this world!! Service was great. It's open late and full of people till 11pm on weekends

I just put in my order for a few pies at this Marie Callender's location. It was quick and painless to do. I wanted to make sure they had my order put in early because I want to have their pies for my Thanksgiving dessert! I ended up ordering a pumpkin and cherry pie. My mouth is already watering just thinking about them. I really like Marie Callender's pies over other establishments that make and sell pies fresh. They really do taste homemade and you just might "fool" someone if you take one to their house for Thanksgiving (or other event). They will think you slaved in the kitchen for hours making it! LOL

The last few times I've gone to the Wendy's on 4th South in Salt Lake City, I have been very happy with my service. This drive-thru is definitely one of the fastest ones that I've been too--and the fast service is consistent! I haven't ever had to wait more than a few minutes in line (due to a lot of cars) and once I place my order and move to the next window to pay, it is time to pull forward to the next one to pick up my food! My orders have been right and the food has been very fresh.
I do know that people are quick to complain about fast food restaurants (because normally there is something to complain about LOL), but I just wanted to give a hats off kudos to this particular location for their excellent drive-thru service.

I enjoy going to Marie Callender's for a change of pace from the other restaurants out there. Everything on the menu tastes like it was made by your own Grandma. I especially recommend getting the Chicken Fried Steak.
One of the best things about going here is the dessert! There are tons of pies to choose from. Depending on the season, you can choose from many different berry filled pies. Still, my favorite is the Chocolate Cream Pie. The sell their pies by the slice or you can purchase an entire pie to take home with you!
The staff is friendly. I enjoy going during the week--weekends can be a little crowded for my tastes. Prices are decent.

I was so sad to see this particular location CLOSED (permanently) the last time I stopped by! There are other locations, so don't worry.
Their cookies really are the best sugar cookie you can eat. They are always soft and and icing on them is so good. When you order an "arrangement" of their cookies to give to someone, you can choose from many different designs. I like them all--it's really hard to choose sometimes. Just know that the end product is definitely worth the price (these arrangements are pricey in my opinion) and it will put a big smile on the receivers face!

More
I first tried Great Harvest when I was longing for my mom's homemade wheat bread. I had bought about tel loafs of bread from the grocery store bakeries and tried to feel the craving I was having. When I first walked into Great Harvest it was the most appetizing aroma of fresh baked bread. They have a variety to choose from and also honey and jams to top the bread with. I selected a loaf of wheat bread and when I was paying they also offer a free slice of bread to taste. It is the best bread and nice to taste the varieties when shopping. I have been surprised how much I liked some of the flavors I would have never bought before.
PROS: great bread
CONS: have to shop earlier on sat if want to have a selection

My absolute favorite bagels come from Einstein Bros Bagels. This is what I recommend you order when you go:
- Chocolate Chip Bagel with their Strawberry Schmear -sooo good!
- Their Tasty Turkey sandwich on the Asiago Cheese Bagel with no sprouts (unless you like them that is)
Going in the morning, expect the place to be busy. Sometimes the line is at or near the door. It does usually move pretty fast, so that shouldn't be a problem. The employees are always really nice and will accommodate your order in any way. Make sure you leave with their Baker's Dozen of bagels--you'll be glad you did!

Krispy Kreme has the best doughnuts on the planet. I grew up in Winston-Salem, NC, and the Krispy Kreme headquarters is located there. You can say I grew up on these doughnuts. I was so happy when Krispy Kreme came to Utah! All of the doughnuts are good--especially the hot glazed, but my all time favorite are the chocolate iced creme filled.
If you've never tried them, make sure you start off trying the hot glazed ones. Once you do that, you'll be hooked.

Definitely one of my favourite place in Salt Lake. What a great place to sit back and chill. The service is AMAZING. I never feel reluctant to tip. The owner is incredibly nice and I've always had such good service.
Amazing in the summer/spring because you can eat outside. It love the stripped down BUT professional atmosphere. Restaurant is the perfect size, large enough but never too noisy. Highly recommended for a date. Food is delicious.
I've never gotten anything but the Gyro, but I've had the lamb and chicken and both are delicious. Expect to pay between 8 - 12 dollars for the one meal. You get a choice of a soup or salad with the Gyro which comes promptly after ordering along with bread, pita I believe.
Great place to go and hang out with friends as well and just talk. The wait time for everything is just perfect, and the food isn't so dominating in the reason why you there (i.e. you're not their to gourge yourself, but you will leave satisfied).
