Kid to Kid Layton is one of the greatest kid stores in this town. With great owners and friendly staff, shopping for my kids is actually fun and inexpensive. I can shop for my new born and my 13 year old step son in one outing. I buy all my kids clothing and baby necessities there. If you haven't been to this store and you have children, it is a must to stop in and see what a fabulous place it is. I shop at all three locations that these owners own ( Layton, Riverdale, and Bountiful) because they make me feel welcome and appreciated, not to mention how helpful and knowledgeable they are about car seats, cribs, high chairs, etc. They get an A+++ in my book.

I save a bunch of money by shopping at Costco. They have quality meat (for a bargain price) and great prices on bread, cheese, and so much more. Their gas prices are the best in town. They also have good deals on books, CDs, clothes, linens, and electronics. The lines and parking are usually horrendous on Saturdays.

I think Stein Mart is a hit or miss kind of store. I've gone in before not really looking for anything in particular and have walked out with lots of great things. I really like the housewares section of the store. I can always find unique things to give as gifts to people--especially wedding gifts. I've found if you go to the shoe section near the beginning of a season, you can find some cute shoes (for gals that is). I recently just got the cutest pair of lime green sandals and I'm going to get a lot of wear out of them once the weather decides to stay warm!

I can occassionally find awesome deals at Shopko. They carry some decent maternity clothes and have a good selection of clothes overall. You really just have to watch their clearance aisles and the ads otherwise they are nothing special. Oftentimes their picture frames are reasonably priced. Last time I went it was senior day (Wednesday I think) and they had a little table of cookies and juice out (totally funny but I wasn't going to turn down some free oreos).

As more and more stores leave the downtown malls, Meier and Frank is one of the few worth still going to. They have some great sales if you are willing to hunt. They also offer 15% off coupons regularly, although I have noticed lately they are putting more and more restrictions on these making them virtually useless. I have found complete outfits for my sons for $6 and recelty just bought a greatd ress for $5. Not the kind of prices you would expect from a higher end department store.

Nordstrom Rack has some good deals but you really need to hunt and go back often. It's kind of like Ross but for those who care about name brands. I have found some beautiful designer girls dresses for awesome deals. They also will occassionally have some Dr. Martins in the $45 price range. Real hit and miss.

They have such fun trendy clothes here. Sizes go all the way from super cute baby to adult. I also liked their maternity line when I was pregnant. There is not a lot of great maternity clothes so Old Navy saved my life. It is funny because some seasons I will walk in and love everything and others I find nothing I like. The baby clothes however are ALWAYS CUTE!

I love to go to the Sears downtown because it's a stand alone store and hardly anyone goes there (except me and some senior citizens). I don't know how they keep this place open but I'm not complaining. They have some awesome photographers in their studio. The store is always tidy and usually has some decent sales racks that haven't been picked over.
