Asian food in Durham 4/14/2006

Pao Lim is a pretty good asian restaurant in Durham. It's mostly Chinese, but their menu spreads out a little into other foods. Everything I've had here has been good. I don't recall anything being amazing, but it's definitely been good enough to come back to, which is a lot more than I can say for some other Chinese restaurants in the area. The decor is pretty standard and the waitstaff are nice. Prices are reasonable. more

Chinatown Goes Southern 4/6/2006

Having spent a lot of time in the northeast, I have grown skeptical to Asian dinning anywhere else. So when a friend suggested Pao Lim, I was hesitant to waste a good meal another bad Chinese knock off . To my surprise I found Pao Lim to offer an exciting blend of Asian cousins. The menu has a little something from everywhere Asia. more

Pao Lim bills itself as an Asian fusion restaurant, combining Chinese and Indian cooking styles. I personally prefer their more traditional Chinese dishes in general, staying away from their more Indian/South East Asian leaning cuisine. My favor dish though is the Chili Chicken. Their appetizers are also excellent, in particular the fried pork dumplings. I would highly recommend this restaurant. more
