Fresh, Tasty, Budget Friendly 9/12/2010

I work in the area and found this place. Have been going back and will go every week. The prices , food and service are all great and food is top notch. Sandwiches are made to order, but fast. Ingredients and toppings are all fresh and that is what I look for. Fresh, healthy food. The appetizers are a meal alone or we take five people and share several appetizers then branch out on our own sandwiches or platters. Outstanding hommus, tapenade and baba cannot be matched, even in the more expensive establishments. Would love to meet the chef, but he is a busy man as he also has Vinings location. Tip, go on Mondays for half off wine bottles, great spot to share a bottle with a co worker and some great hommus. more

Excellent falafel, Very Fresh 5/2/2010

Loved the place. Went with a large group of friends and had the best time and great service We were a party of 10 and quite a diverse group with many questions. The server was excellent, quite attentive and the food was very very good and so fresh. I have eaten alot of mediterranean in many cities and just found this place via groupon.. I bought my groupon and went alone with it and enjoyed the food so very much and the service that I went back with my party of 10 We had alot of appetizers and really enjoyed the thick, creamy hummus. It is hands down, best in the city I had been to a place nearby Olive Bistro with a friend that lives near the park and had tried their hummus and falafel and what a let down that had been, so I had given up on good falafel in Atlanta until groupon had Olive Bistro The fresh, good quality olives in the greek salad and on the antipasto we shared were great. we also had a feta appetizer and babaganji, they were outstanding I had falafel wrap with fresh romaine and tomatoes, tahini and hummus. Crispy warm falafel and fresh, good pita wrap made it tops for me. It was so much, I had to take some home as we had shared so many great appetizers, then had wonderful baklava for dessert. My only wish is that they had draft beer. They do have a good selection of wine and bottled beers I am now a regular and go at least once a week This is great food, really inexpensive , generous portions and great service Pros: Fresh , Great kalamatta olives., Falafel, hummus Cons: More Beer Choices more

Canned black olives... enough said 2/24/2010

I just can't believe that people giving this place 5/5 stars have actually eaten Mediterranean food before. Fresh... uhhh, no. Okay, the cucumbers in my greek falafel wrap seemed fresh and the lettuce was not brown, but the rest of the wrap was just not good. The pita was not fresh. It had that ""this has been sitting around awhile"" type taste. It was old. The ""feta"" in my wrap was in such small pieces that I swear it was mixed with cottage cheese. And the black olives in my wrap were the sliced kind from a can. Yes, I know, I can't believe it either. The name of the place is the Olive Bistro. You would think they would use better olives than that. The falafel was less than so-so. I also tried the hummus. It was very, very thin and the flavor was not that great. Needless to say, I will not be going back. And, if you want real Mediterranean food, I would suggest you go somewhere else. Pros: location Cons: food more

Drove 20 minutes, refused service! 2/17/2010

was so excited to go to Olive Bistro. I read the rave reviews and drove twenty minutes through traffic to get there. I have an onion allergy so I called before purchasing my groupon to make sure I'd be able to order. The employee listed a 5-6 items that were onion free. When I got there, the same guy (Scottish accent)said they didn't have anything I could eat. He blew me off and kept attending to the seated customers. He even took another walk-in customer's order who came in after me. I waited patiently trying to be positive and finally found three items I could have. By then, 20 mins had gone by. I was going to pay and he said I couldn't use my groupon because it was dine in only. 'Okay, I'll eat here.' Then he said ""You already told me you were getting it to go."" I said that was before I knew you couldn't use your groupon on to go orders. ""Then you should have read it, I can't serve you."" He refused to take my $ or honor my groupon and said he had to get back to his seated customers, who'd been there longer than I was. Of course he also said there was no mgr. available. I don't know if he discriminates against groupies or if they just treat their black customers that way. Either way, I'll never go back. I was so disappointed and I thank God for City Search so I can share my experience. Cons: Discrimination against groupons? Horrible service more

Fresh and Best 10/8/2009

The very best in fresh, healthy Mediterranean, Middle Eastern food. The homoos is always so fresh and smooth. I love the taste and the price. Tabboleh is a very nice portion, enough to share or if you are alone, go for the sides. wow, what a deal. A 2.50 side of fresh healthy salad with any of the sandwiches or meals. It really is a very good price for good food, good health I workout at the gym and then head to Olive Bistro for a healthy lunch . I have also tried take- out and it tastes just as good on the go. The sandwich is just right, not too small and not massive where you are getting more bread than fillings which is the case at so, so many places around , especially around Midtown and Emory. Who wants so much bread and so little fillings? I love Olive Bistro for fresh, filling, great prices , great service of high quality, made from scratch, healthy food. I love the owners, they are always around and you can tell that they are involved in everything, it is their food, not a franchise or chain, local owners that love the food and love to share it with us. I have been eating at Olive bistro for well over 10 years, and go many times a week. I feel like family and that is how they treat me and all that they break bread with, they never skimp.. Quality stuff. Pros: Best homoos, Gyros Cons: more pastries, please more

LAMB IS PERFECT 10/8/2009

FOOD IS SO GOOD, FRESH , AND THE SERVICE IS FAST, FRIENDLY I go five times a week and never eat the same thing, unless I want to because there is so much on the menu. I always have lamb, lamb on salads, lamb on pita, lamb kebob, lamb on pasta You can build your own salad, and get what toppings you want This is always fresh and healthy The prices are good and you can tell that the meat and chicken are very good quality, not like those 5.99 places that must be serving meat surprise, that scares me For just a few coins more than big Macs, you are eating fresh, healthy food and now the news is all over the mediterranean diet. I have been going here for years, so this place was well ahead of the times as they have been selling fresh, healthy in midtown for years and it always Rocks They have 2 locations and both are great and always fresh, Midtown and Vinings I am usually at Midtown, but when I visit the family, I go to Vinings. Great vibe at both places Olive Bistro, you have my vote I Pros: LAMB, SALADS, SERVICE Cons: ADDICTIVE TO THE FODD, GOTTA HAVE IT more

Best Hummus and best service 10/8/2009

Everything is Good 9/16/2009

This place has it .Local vibe, local owners, no attitude, no pretense Love the new girl, I think she is Katy. Very friendly and helpful. I tried this early in the summer and had a great server, and went back last week and on Labor Day.Very busy on Labor day, yet Katy made it fun and took good care of me I have eaten in and ordered to go and it is all so good, fresh, reasonable prices and just the right spice in it all. Love that falafel I dream of homus and dipping that pita in it all I like having it close enough to walk and it is always very clean and the servers very nice I always end with a turkish coffee and baklava Next time, I am trying the lamb. You rule, Olive Bistro. I hear you have another location in Vinings, will try that when I go to the Cobb Arts center Katy told me she will be there some Wish you had breakfast. could use homus and bagels from you Pros: Homus, Falafel, Grape leaves, Baklava, Tabbouleh Cons: Breakfast, Please more

Fresh, fresh, and fresh 8/23/2008

I just found this place this summer when going to Border's . Popped in for a quick bite and found my new local favorite spot. I did not know they were there as I am new to the area. Did not expect such a great local type of place in the center. A better place than I have yet to find in my new neighborhood. Too many bars Pros: food, service Cons: gets crowded at lunch and sometimes a wait more

Such fresh, tasty, great food, great prices, great service more

Rockining Hummus and Lamb 4/22/2008

The reviews all sounded good, except for one, which is obvious someone wants to pick a bone with John Pros: food, service, prices, free parking, (hate places if I have to valet, love it here free !! Cons: when it is packed, I have to wait for a table more

Cold food, poor service and tip padding on large party ruined our experience 3/1/2008

Try the Antipasto...excellent. The Hummus...very good. Nice lamb but the rest is mediocre. John, the waiter was surly and unconcerned about cold food, forgotten orders and overcharging the customer. Check your bill carefully. Those handwritten bills can hide overcharges and bill padding and the waiter is not happy to make corrections. Too bad! We went there after we read the rave reviews in this listing service. When asked for a recommendation for the Moussaka and Lasagna, the waiter candidly stated ""After serving the stuff for more than six years, I really can't stand either."" Great marketing, right? Pros: Antipasto, Hummus, Lamb, prices Cons: SERVICE, John, the waiter. more

Good no frills Mediterranean 7/28/2007

The place is pretty small and in a strip mall (not a date spot), but the food is pretty good, especially if you are just in the mood for good eats without a lot of other hype. I would recommend the eggplant dishes or the falafel. Pros: Good Food Cons: Strip Mall Location more

Awesome Food, Service 7/17/2007

I tried so many things and loved it all. Started with olive tapenade and it has the right spice, great flavor Pros: food Cons: can't think of any more

Olive Bistro. You have the right stuff ! 7/12/2007

I am a dedicated ethnic food diner. My favs are sushi, true Italian, true Mexican and true Greek, Mediterranean. This is it for true Mediterranean. Everything I have tried in 6 visits in the last 2 weeks has always been good. A friend turned me on right before the end of June and I cannot stop eating. The good news is Mediterranean food is so good for you and I love this stuff. Pros: Food, Price Cons: Add some more desserts. Love what you have, add more pastries more
