Michaels

Of the area craft stores, Michaels is my least favorite. They have a good selection of scrapbooking supplies which will sometimes draw me in. The store itself often feels cramped and there are usually boxes blocking some portion of the store since restocking happens during shopping hours. I usually have to wait to check out even when there are just a few customers. When I ask questions about products the employees are not very knowledgeable. If you're looking for one expensive item and you have a coupon from the newspaper, it's probably worth going in. Their yarn selection is okay, but not varied beyond what you can find at a discount store. Maybe it's this individual store though. I understand a new store is coming to Nampa and I will try the new store to see if it's any better (less cramped, cleaner, better customer service). I know sometimes these things vary from store to store. more

And the first place I go is Michaels. Michaels has a great selection of craft supplies from yarn (when I'm feeling like a happy hooker) to woodwork and plastic flowers for making super neat arrangements. The prices are nice and right now they are expanding their in-store selection. It's probably the best general craft store in Boise. more

If you are looking for something to do, Michaels is a great place to go. This store provides for all you decorating needs. From home décor to knitting yarn, Michael’s has got you covered. For say, you are getting married and want to make your own invitations, Michael’s is your best bet… they have a section just for you. Recently, this happened to a friend of mine and we looked everywhere for an inexpensive way to make invitations yet look adorable. The only place that met our needs was Michael’s. more
