Sue this company if they tow your car. Worst in the city. They towed my car last night from my apartment complex, that I live in and had been parking just fine for 3 years. My complex used to employ Kenwood until a little over a year ago. But they continue to prey on cars even though it is illegal for them to do so. I have a letter from the owner of the building that they sent Kenwood over a year ago stating they are no longer using them and to not tow from their complex. Well they don't care. Anything for money I guess. They state the reason they towed my car was my license plate sticker was expired. Even though it's not, They have no right to be on private property anyway taking cars that they are not contracted to do so. I am going down there today to get my car, and if it's not free of charge I will be taking them to small claims court and will be reporting them to BBB. Did I mention it's 2 days before Christmas? Know your rights! If you arrive at the lot while they are towing you vehical it is the law that they much unhitch it if you can pay exactly half of the 90 dollar towing fee. It is written in section C of of ohio's revised code 4513.60. That means if you show up before they move your vehical you are only required to pay 45 dollars and no more. If they argue get their license number and plate numbers as well as the name of the driver and company they work for. I personally keep a copy of the printed code in my glove box. more

I am a site manager at a property in Clifton heights and they made multiple attempts at towing cars from our lot. First, we dont even use them for our lot. Second, they were always at the wrong address. They hook up cars and refuse to drop them. Awful company, worst in the industry. Multiple KT employees swore at myself and tenants at our property. Only way we got them to stop was scaring their little a$$es by getting the police involved. That sure stopped them..for now. more

Damaged my car 4/23/2012

Terrible people. DO NOT LET THEM TOW YOUR CAR. They towed my All-Wheel-Drive vehicle improperly. This resulted in $3K of damages. They say they followed proper procedures for an AWD vehicle (but they did not). Now I have to get security camera footage from the garage to prove they were doing wrong. They fail to accept ownership of a problem. After being towed, the claim the extensive problems with the AWD system om my car must be pre-existing, BULLSH*T. I hate Kenwood towing. I am waiting on the parking garage security footage to file a claim against them, more

Terrible company. Awful people. 2/19/2012

First of all, I have already reported this incident to the Cincinnati Better Business Bureau. I would encourage you all to do the same. Plus complain to the Ohio Attorney General, Cincinnati City Council (especially PG Sittenfeld), and the parking lot owners who employ Kenwood Towing. Several weeks ago Kenwood Towing towed my car in error. I was an authorized customer of a restaurant at the time my car was towed from the parking lot. I had ordered a dinner and was waiting for it to be prepared. The restaurant employees had no idea which car I, or any other customer, was driving and they told the tow truck driver that they did not know. The driver made the decision to tow my car. As far as I understand, Kenwood Towing is responsible for monitoring the parking lot, not the restaurant. The police, for example, were surprised that Kenwood Towing does not mark tires with chalk in order to help determine which cars do not belong to authorized customers. Minutes after KT hijacked my car, the restaurant employees alerted KT that it had towed my car in error, but the driver refused to return my car. He even refused to tell us his supervisor's telephone number or have the supervisor call the restaurant. Thirty minutes later the driver finally did give the telephone to the local police. The restaurant and the local police both asked the supervisor to return or release my car at no charge, and he refused. When I spoke with the supervisor on the telephone, he was very rude and customer unfriendly. For example, the supervisor said that he did not care whether I had a restaurant receipt showing that I was an authorized customer, and hinted that he would change his driver's records to show that my car had been towed at a different time. In addition, he accused me of having two or three beers at the bar next door and said that I shouldn't be drinking and driving. Unbelievable! I can't imagine any company wanting to have such an unprofessional person in a position interfacing with the public. And, oh yeah, Kenwood Towing said that I had to pay more than two hundred dollars in fees to rescue my car -- an amount that is way above the legal limit according to the recent Cincinnati Enquirer articles. The issue was quickly resolved the next morning when a more reasonable and professional supervisor came on duty. But by then Kenwood Towing had already wasted four hours of my time (plus two hours of police time) and I still had to find someone to drive me across town to their lot. Let's all work together to compel this company to change its lousy business practices! more

Worst Towing 12/29/2011

I know that nobody chooses to get their car towed, but my entire experience with Kenwood Towing was miserable. We had no idea that we had parked illegally until we realized our car was M.I.A. When we called to see if we could get the car back, it was difficult to get a hold of them and then we waited for 25 minutes in the cold for someone to come to the building. They weren't very polite and they weren't conscious of how they treated their customers. I'd give them zero stars if I could. more

Kenwood Towing are crooks 10/3/2011

Kenwood Towing are crooks. They towed my car from a space I was legally using, like many of the reviewers below. They were rude during my interaction with them, and when their manager hung up on me when I called to complain about the illegal tow and my bad service. One person I worked with was polite: Aaron. more

Towing Predators 9/29/2011

I cant believe this company still exists, or better yet, hasnt been sued! You have to have a parking decal to legally park at my apartment complex in order to have ample spaces for the residents. On numerous occassions KENWOOD TOWING has towed vehicles that have these parking decals visibly displayed, only to subsequently return them! I have been a victim of this twice this year. The first time it occurred I demanded they return my vehicle and not only were they irate about returning it, they damaged it once it was returned. We had to put out $500 in framework because the car was not drivable! I recently purchased a new car and legally parked it on my lot with a visible decal only to shortly notice it had been ILLEGALLY TOWED!!! Once again, I spoke with Tina demanding the immediate return of my car and she hung up. I had to involve my landlord just to have my car returned and when they returned it they dropped it off in a spot where it was sure to be hit by an oncoming vehicle. I have conducted research about towing companies, such as this one, who prey on certain vehicles with the assumption they will be guaranteed money for impounding fees. If anyone is considering hiring them for their business I STRONGLY AGREE YOU DO NOT!!!!!!! You will certainly lose business or tenants and regret it in the end more

Predatory towing practices, unsafe drivers 3/21/2011

I wish I could give negative stars. I was shopping at Duck Creek Antiques, was parked in a regular space and went on foot to do neighboring errands rather than driving and reparking. Returned to find my car about to be towed by Kenwood towing. The driver refused to stop, and wouldn't accept a check or credit card for payment to remove the car. I watched the entire time while he was loading it onto the truck and he apparently did a very shoddy job because my car came off the tow bar when he was backing uop to leave and rolled into the truck! I couldn't believe my eyes. I called to file a police report and the officer said that Kenwood towing is notorious for predatory practices like this - patrolling to find vehicles that aren't even illegally parked. I have to go pick up my car and hope it is still drivable. The owner for Duck creek antiques was totally unhelpful and said that she didn't care if she lost customers over their towing practices, but I'll save that for a different review! more

Broke Down Car Towed 2/20/2011

Let me start by saying I think it is funny that I found this on here. For the person that responded that they work SO much in their field if you dont like the hours and days involved in your job then find a new one. I""M The driver that was coming to get the lady who was with the disabled vehicle. And I'm sorry to say she was right. Now hear me out, My company also does P.P.I's (Private Property Impounds) And I agree that if a vehicle is parked illegally the owner has every right to have it removed. BUT this lady was with the vehicle and it was obvious she was not parked there and instead was WRECKED. If she had not been with the car then by all means its gone But she was there. I could not, would not, And never will take advantage of someone in a situation like that And I find it hard to believe that any so call owner called about the vehicle when it was in a school on a Saturday and there less than an hour. I believe that the 48 dollars that this driver took from my customer is not worth the negative review that this person had and I m sure will share with her friends and family. more

Was that even legal? 1/30/2011

My son's car broke down after being in an accident. It overheated and he pulled it into a school parking lot. We called a tow truck from Sora's and was waiting for them when a truck from Kenwood towing came. He said he was going to tow it because it was on private property. I told him the car was in an accident and you could see radiator fluid coming from it. I told him our tow truck was less then 10 minutes away. He said it was going to be $108 to get it out of impound. After begging him, he agreed to tow it to the street (less then 50 feet) for $48. As soon as he dropped the car our tow truck was there. I called to complain and explain the situation and the guy that answered the phone said the driver did me a favor by only charging $48 it should have been $100. and hung up on me. more

Pretty Shady 10/31/2010

First off I have no specific problem with this company for actually towing cars, I agree they are just doing their job. That being said, this is not a pleasant business to deal with. They accept cash and exact change only in a part of town where carrying $100+ dollars in cash is liable to get you mugged in a second. Their office also has no clear signage or directions on where to go to pickup your car - you just find your way around back of the place and knock on the door and hope someone is there. Picking up the car there was easily the shadiest thing I have ever had to do in Cincinnati. more

Re: All these last post discuse me!!! 9/2/2010

You know I'm getting sick of people bad mouthing us towing companies and calling us sleazy. For one we are doing our jobs just like everyone else working that gas station or wal-mart or going to School. We work very hard out here. Like me I have a 9 yr. old boy and own a repo company. I run 18-20 hour shifts. Plus I work 7 day's a week 365 day's a year for police calls right through Christmas yes while you are opening gifts with family I'm out working with police and fire cleaning accidents so you can get to that gathering. While your sleeping at 3:30 am. I'm pulling your loved one out of a snow covered ditch so they can get home safely. So before you bad mouth us towers think before you speak. Private property impounding is totally up to the property owners not us. They tell us what they want us to do and how they want it done. The 108.00 is also the law in Ohio. We don't make that rule either. So before you bad mouth us think before you speak and check the facts first. Thank you for reading this and have a Blessed day! more

0 stars should be a rating option 5/26/2010

i recently returned to cincinnati from school and parked in the parking lot by the shell on calhoun/mcmillan in clifton. i didn't realize that since i was last there the lot had been privatized and i could be towed. i didnt realize this because there was only one small sign at the back of the lot that you will not notice unless you are stopping to smell not only the roses but also all other flowers and the b.o. of the kenwood towing employee that just left. i called the company to ask if they had my car. while on the phone I watched a couple get out of their car, walk away, kenwood towing pull in not 2 minutes later and immediately hook up their car. the worker, who probably hadn't showered in a week, could tell i was obviously without a car and asked hey do you own car x. i said yes. he then proceeded to hit on me. when picking up my i dealt with a totally different employee. i was told they needed a phone number. confused why they would need a phone number i inquired what for (first time my cars been towed, i dont know how things work). the response: if you want your car, i need your number. if that is actually standard procedure i totally understand, but the response i got didn't come off that way. besides the other comments describing the company as rude, dishonest, and heatless i wanted to add threatening and uncomfortable to the mix. Pros: hopefully youll have a nice drink after dealing with them Cons: everything more

A lot of thieves 12/1/2009

This business is one of thieves. My car was legally parked and this company towed it anyway. They refused to let me see the car before I payed the bill. I was told to come back the next day and speak with management if I had a complaint. How convenient - for another $108 fee. They accept cash only - I would love to see their tax forms. Employees were uneducated, rude, aggressive, and down-right nasty. This business should be shut down. They should be charged with car theft. Pros: There are none! Cons: Worst Business Practices more

Vltures 11/27/2009

I think it is lousy the way this company is paid by the business establishments serving the students - preying on them mercilessly. Not only is the University of Cincinnati gouging the students and their parents so are these merchants. These establishments pay these Kenwood' Towing vultures to sit there watching and waiting for a one minute violations, etc. so they can extort hundreds more dollars out of these kids. It is a racket that needs to stop. It is virtually criminal and adds insult to injury to any parent/student lining the palms of the university and who patronize these businesses. The business district and the University need to come up with a better system and stop stepping on the backs and twisting the arms of their customers! Pros: Towing is the game in Clifton Cons: Taking your money is Kenwood Towing's Name more

Less Than Animals 11/16/2009

My daughter, a UC student who frequently shops at Stop N Go on McMillan, parked outside the store and as she was walking toward the door of the store, saw a friend in the yard next door and walked over for a minute to chat. She was no more than 20 feet from her car and was clearly on her way into the store. While she was standing there, this sleazy creep hooks her car up to his tow truck. When she protested, he said he would unhook it for $40 cash. Of course she didn't have that much cash so he towed it away. She had to walk home in the dark in an unsafe neighborhood, and all of her homework was in the car. The next day she tried to get her car and they said she would have to wait an hour, which she didn't have since she has classes. After class, she called again and arranged to meet the driver at the lot. He told her it would be $108. She had to withdraw money from the ATM and of course, had to get an even $20 so she had $120. He took it and refused to give her change. Said she'd have to come back tomorrow for change. Then, when she asked for his supervisor's name, he got in her face and started screaming at her. She is a petite 19-year old girl!!! What horrid people. I can believe every single comment made on this page, except for the one positive review. It is bound to be a fake. These guys are predators through and through and we all need to report them to the Better Business Bureau and tell every business that associates with them that we will not shop at their stores until they get rid of Kenwood Towing. Cons: sleazy, dishonest, rude, sharks, more

KENWOOD TOWING BROKE INTO MY TRUCK AND STOLE MY CD CHANGER 6/9/2009

MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE ONE NIGHT AND PARKED ONTO A PRIVATE LOT (AUTOZONE) WHICH NORMALLY THE POLICE CANNOT HAVE YOUR VEHICLE TOWED FROM A PRIVATE LOT BUT THIS PARTICULAR NIGHT, THEY HAD ALL THE VEHICLES TOWED BY KENWOOD TOWING ON SPRING GROVE. WHEN SHE WENT TO PICK THE VEHICLE UP THE TRUCK(SUV) HAD NOT BEEN BROKEN INTO BUT THE CD CHANGER WAS GONE!! RIPPED OUT IN TWO PLACES. WHEN ASKED ABOUT THE ITEMS MISSING, KENWOOD TOWNING TOLD HER THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE AND FEEL BECAUSE THEY HAVE A SIGN DISPLAYED, THEY ARE IN THE CLEAR. WHEN I CALLED THEM ABOUT THE MISSING CD CHANGER, I WAS TOLD THAT ANYBODY COULD HAVE BROKEN INTO THE VEHICLE, BUT THERE WAS NO SIGN OF BREAK IN. MANY COMPANIES SUCH AS TOWING COMPANIES AND REPOSSESSION COMPANIES HAVE TOOLS THAT IS USED TO REMOVE ITEMS FROM VEHICLES AND CLAIM THEY HAVE NO WAY OF ENTERING THE VEHICLE WHICH IS NOT TRUE. KELLOGE TOWING REFUSE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS OR REIMBURSE FOR THESE DAMAGES TO MY VEHICLE CLAIMING THEY ARE NOT AT FAULT. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THIS COMPANY IS IN THE BUSINESS TO STEAL FROM THE CONSUMER THEN REFER THE CUSTOMER TO FILE AN INSURANCE CLAIM. COULD THEY BE INTO FILING FALSE CLAIMS ALSO? NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. YOU'LL BE SORRY YOU DID. THEY SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS Pros: NOTHING! Cons: STEALIING FROM THE VEHICLES more

Nothing but theives 4/15/2009

My girlfriend and I parked in the parking lot behind Arbys in Clifton and I put a quarter in the meter, which gives you half an hour and we went in to eat. We were in there no longer than 20 minutes and when we came out, my car was already gone. I went up to the meter and there was still seven minutes left. I called this company and they first told me I wasn't allowed to park there period, then when I told them I put money in the meter, they told me it was for people with a parking decal only. Then they changed the story to my meter was out of time, even though I watched it expire while I was on the phone arguing with them. He brought my car back to the parking lot across the street and charged me $96 dollars to get it back. There doesn't seem to be much the police can do, since it is a private lot, and when I called the tow company the next day to complain, they told me that there was nothing I could do about it, laughed at me, and then hung up on me. Something needs to be done about these people preying on the residents of Clifton. Armed robbery should not be legal just because you own a tow truck. Cons: liars, thieves, con artists more
