Kennedy's is the Best 5/2/2012

I have used Kennedy's for 5 years now and I am very impressed by their service, promptness and fairness. I have read other reviews and either they are talking about a different Kennedy's or they are the competition. I just brought my car in and it was fixed in a flash and it runs like a Swiss clock. I love Kennedy's and hope everyone who reads this goes somewhere else so we can bring our car in anytime to be cared for by this great company!!!! more

Ball-Joint Frenzy 4/10/2011

I was at a dead stop when my ball-joint fell out of my left front suspension for my Ford Mustang, i didn't really know of anyone to take it to, so i called around and got a referral to Kennedy's Automotive. I have driven by his shop for years at the corner of Anapamu and Milpas but never had used his services, well now i know i what i was missing, Mike was able to get me back on the road within 24hrs and at a very fair price on the work done. Reliable and consistent 4/7/2011

We have several vehicles and we have been taking them to Kennedy's for a number of years now. We have always had timely service and great results with the work that is performed. The customer service is always professional and top notch!!! It is great knowing that we have a reliable local resource to turn to when our cars have a performance issue or just need a tune up!!! more

After reading a recent review re: this place being ""woman friendly"" I decided to take my Toyota in for some scheduled maintenance. Not only did I end up spending way less than I would've at the dealership, it cost even less than Mike originally quoted me. He only replaced the items that needed it instead of just replacing things just to make a quick buck. How many times has that happened with your mechanic? And as the previous reviewer wrote he didn't treat me like a child as a lot of mechanic's do when dealing with a woman. Kennedy's has earned a customer for life!! more

Top Notch 4/5/2011

This place really took care of me and my aged BMW. The manager took the time to explain different options I had, what was needed immediately and what I could afford to wait to have repaired. And compared to what I was quoted from SB Auto Group and another ""BMW Specialist"" in town I saved a bundle! I refer Kennedy's to all my friends and family and refuse to take any of my vehicles anywhere else. Don't be fooled by some of the older reviews...give them a shot. You won't be sorry! more

Women - are you looking for a mechanic who will not insult your intelligence? I have finally found an HONEST and reasonably priced mechanic! As a woman it's hard to find a mechanic that won't rip you off. Mike at Kennedy's is trustworthy and never overcharges. I always feel comfortable taking my car to him. I encourage you to do the same. more

Look deeper into past reviews 3/21/2011

I am very sad to see the past reviews of this business. I have brought my vehicles (personal & fleet) to Mike at Kennedy's for over 6 years now. If you look at the past ""bad"" reviews you will notice that they are all over 60 day period in 2009... odd to say the least. I asked Mike about this & unfortunately he fell victim to a very mean spirited person that had it out for him & this had 100% nothing to do with his mechanical abilities or his reputation... the reviews are fake & meant to do his business harm. **This review is real** and I am a real customer... you can even call me at (805)683-7772 if you want to confirm. Mike has always done a great job for us. His work is priced fairly, he is fast & he never over charges or does unnecessary work just for a quick buck. I have never to date found another more reliable or honest mechanic. more

Therapy for your car 1/7/2011

I've lived in Santa Barbara for ten years and unless I've had trouble out of town or warranty issues that required dealer remedy, I've never taken my car anywhere else. In my dealings with Kennedy's the establishment has consistently demonstrated fairness, reliability, courteousness and most important, efficacy in completing repairs. I know other customers who feel similarly and as a result rely on Kennedy's for their automotive repair needs. more

THEY ARE HORRIBLE! 9/22/2009

I called AAA to have my car jumped, only to find that the battery wasn't the issue. The company that came to jump me offered to tow my car back to their garage to find out the issue. From there, they offered me a ride home, which I appreciated. However, their ""diagnostics"" test cost about $400.00 (and wouldn't have been needed had the mechanics performed what another (more reputable, as I have discovered) mechanic has informed me are basic tests when encountering the problem I had). Also, the price they quoted me for parts and labor to remedy the issue cost double what normal retail on parts and labor would cost to repair (as I found later from the actual mechanic that repaired my car). I would strongly advise against using this company unless you are happy to part with about twice as many dollars than are necessary. more

BAD! 9/8/2009

Do not go to this service center! The owner is disrespectful, does not value your opinion and has INSULTED my family?s intelligence. When I took the vehicle back for warranty work for the third time, the shop manager argued with me that the car could NEVER be aligned correctly! I took the vehicle to another location and they said that was not correct at all. They were amazed that this service center let my car go in that horrible of a condition. NEVER, NEVER go to this service center. more

WORST 8/31/2009

This is not a place I will ever take my car again: 1) They put on new rotars and didn't even offer to ""turn"" the old ones (which would have saved me money). 2) They quoted me one price for work, I said ok, and when I went to pay, they told me a higher price, which I had to pay. 3) The owner used racial comments I didn't appreciate. Out Of Town Trouble. 8/29/2009

We brought our 2005 Nissan in for repair. They were very helpful and resolved the problem quickly. However the same problem happened again two weeks later ? their repair work needed a ?redo?. When they were contacted to do the rework or to give us a refund they did not do either. Since we were ?out of towners? they said ?it was no longer their problem?. I would encourage you to take your repair work somewhere else. Also, it does call into question the organizations level of integrity. So, you may even want to rethink any business with them. I assume when things go their way, no problem, when they are faced with a loss, you lose. more

KENNEDY 8/13/2009

I brought in my Porsche 911 to have the convertible top fixed. They said the 2 motors for the top were bad and it would cost $2,500. I went to pick up the car and while still in the shop when I put the top down, it snapped! They claimed I only told them to fix one motor, and they would not fix their obvious mistake! I went to another dealer and it cost me $8,000 to fix the top. Overall, they were a horror to deal with, their work was poor, and the constantly pressure you to do repairs, that aren't even necessary (I spoke with the Porsche dealer regarding the work I had done and they said that much of it did not need to be done). My Useless Car Thanks To Kennedy's Santa Barbara!The same thing happened to me. Do not take your car to this shop! I took my car to them to have the belts replaced and instead of taking the alternator off the bent the bracket so they could put the belts on without having to take it off. Unaware of this I drove the car until major repairs were needed. Kennedys Automotive ruined my car! more
