If I could stay at one hotel in Santa Barbara for a weekend this might be it. It's just beautiful. It's very old world and rustic too.
Pros: Super Classy, baby
Cons: none

We just stayed here for one weekend. The hotel is really cute. A great location - you can walk everywhere from here. But it's still a little tucked away, to give you a little bit of a private feel. Oh, and the rooms immaculate. Don't miss the lobby cookies in the afternoon.

The respect level, location, free bikes, continental breakfast, and events they throw makes it a must visit.I also found out that they are in the process of creating Santa Barbara's ONLY- funky boutique style inn.Clean, spacious rooms are the iceing on the cake.Palm Springs type of vibe in Santa B.!!!!!!
Pros: Best Location(State Street-1st Motel out of the Downtown area) and Price In S.B.
Cons: No Pool -but only 20 minute walk to beach, and 25 cent trolly ride!!!!!!!

We stayed here for a couple of nights for a weekend getaway. Inn at the Spanish Garden was the top rated hotel in Santa Barbara according to TripAdvisor so we knew we had to check it out. It is a very small but charming boutique hotel on a quiet, residential feeling street. Free parking under the hotel. Our room was beautiful and well appointed. There was music playing when we walked in which was incredibly nice. Each room feels like an apartment or a guesthouse. Not like a hotel. Very nice feeling.
Complimentary buffet breakfast if you get up early enough (and it was really good!). The front desk always had fresh baked cookies that we would grab on our way in and out. We got a message that we could get lemonade and cookies delivered to us as a welcome gift but we didn't take the staff up on that offer. Walking distance to everything, a car was definitely not needed. Soooo nice! I highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for peace and quiet in Santa Barbara.

My husband and I recently spent our anniversary at The Biltmore and I just cannot praise them enough! We stayed in a cottage and it was worth it; beautifully decorated and private with the most comfortable bed ever. We especially appreciated the 'mountain' of chocolate covered strawberries and champage sent to our room with a hand-written note from the manager wishing us a happy anniversary. The service was perfect and the staff could not be friendlier.
My only complaint was with our experience at the hotel restaurant: Good food (which took forever) - just not great. Next time we visit this hotel, we will have dinner reservations elsewhere. One more thing: there is a train that passes by the hotel property and could be heard from our cottage. It wasn't that disturbing but you may want to ask about it when you make reservations.
But we will be back!
Pros: Dreamy beds, Perfect Service, Private
Cons: Possible Train Noise

Because you're close to but not on State Street you'll get the best of both worlds. You're in walking distance to some great places to eat and the museum.

I stayed here for 2 nights. Well, the price was quite high for such a bed and breakfast hotel. Maybe because of the location, which is downtown of Santa Barbara where the attractions are. The room is pretty small. The room comes with continental breakfast. Well, overall was a fine stay.

I have stayed here once and it was a beautiful hotel. The beach and Santa Barabra Pier were just down the way close enough to walk to. There are a ton of great restaurants in Santa Barbara within walking distance as well. The hotel pices are reasonable and AAA is accepted here for a discount.

We went to this hotel 30 minutes after checking in to Hotel Oceana - they were very accomodating. Although they were about $30 per night more expensive, it was the best decision we made. The hotel is clean and beds comfortable. Room was large and had a fabulous view. I would definitely stay there again.
