I usually don't write reviews but because most of us don't trust auto shops for their bad reputation of liars etc. I must give you my experience with Japanese Auto Sop. I'm very satisfied with the service and with the price. They have competent mechanics and are ready to answer any question (I had so many) in a friendly and polite manner. I would happily recommend Japanese Auto Tech to anyone who wants good service at a fair price. They have a lounge area if you need to wait for your car. more

I don't usually feel compelled to write a review unless I have an exceptionally good or bad experience, and this one unfortunately was exceptionally bad. I generally do not trust auto mechanics, and Japanese auto tech confirmed the reason why this is so. Long story short, I was quoted $200 over the phone for a 90k service on a 4 cylinder small car. Pretty standard pricing for a non-dealer servicing. Well I made an appointment, gave all my info, and dropped my car off in the morning, a few hours later, come to pick it up, and the bill is $375, not $200 as I was quoted. No extra services were performed, just the standard - oil, transmission fluid, coolant/radiator flush, spark plugs, cabin filter, top off fluids, that's it. They didn't even have to check my brakes or rotate and balance my tires, which is part of the servicing, because I didn't have my wheel lock key with me. So somehow the bill is still twice the quoted price, and when I try to argue about it, I get some BS excuse about the guy on the phone just answers the phone, he didn't know what he was talking about. Well, I know that anyone who answers the phone there is a mechanic, they don't have secretaries working there, and all their mechanics should know the pricing of a standard service like that. $375 for a Honda civic servicing is what I might pay at a Honda dealership, which would include extra incentives like all factory parts, a free carwash, wiper blade replacements, and possibly a fuel filter replacement. So basically I got ripped off at this place. Bottom line, these guys are crooks, liars and cheats, like many mechanics are. That is the nature of their business. DO NOT trust these guys, despite what all the other reviews say. I came here because of all the other positive reviews on this site, but these guys are cheats and liars. If you are in the Miramar area, try Brandon Auto in the same parking center 2 buildings west of these guys. I had the same service performed there last time for half the price, no BS, just quick and honest service. Again, don't come to this place unless you want to get ripped off. I have been using other mechanic shop in the neighborhood till last Friday. I thought their low oil change price was a bait-and-switch marketing gimmick. Not so.
