An oasis amidst Kirkland's pricey eateries 8/31/2008

Kirkland's great, but sometimes you don't want to be in lunch or dinner $25-50. Jalisco on Park Lane gives you all the ambiance of Kirkland's trendy little boulevard, including outdoor dining and people watching - without the high prices you find at the surrounding restaurants.\r \r It's food is the standard (American) Mexican restaurant fare, similar to Azteca. It's not better or worse. I've found the service to be very good. If you want to kick it in Kirkland, but don't want to kick yourself when the check comes, check out Jalisco. Pros: Great location and outdoor dining Cons: Food that's good, but not great more

Extremely disappointed in this location! 8/27/2008

Jalisco's on Queen Anne Avenue is, and always has been, superb!! I was expecting the same thing at this Kirkland location. What a surprise to find the margaritas completely lacking in tequila; and we seemed to be bothering the waitress instead of being made to feel special. The food was ""ok"" but lacked flavor and eye appeal. And, I don't even want to mention the condition, and location, of the rest rooms!! I won't be going back to this particular Jalisco's. Pros: cute location Cons: parking, food, service, cleanliness more

Good food 1/23/2008

I was surprised to see that this is a chain. The dishes are nice, straight forward mexican-ish dishes. I think the food is actually a half step up from the more popular !Cactus that always draws a crowd next store, but it does lack the atmosphere. Still, if you grow tired of waiting for a table at Cactus, this place will still satisfy you Mexican fix. Pros: decent food and never a wait Cons: looks like a bit of a dive in comparison to Cactus next door more

Basic Mexican food, bad margaritas 10/24/2007

We gave Jalisco several tries, because we wanted to find a good Mexican place close to our new house. We usually order the basic enchiladas and tacos and these are tasty. The enchiladas are as slathered in cheese and sauce as any other California-style place. The tacos were OK. We decided the margaritas did not pass muster, they are relatively tasteless, so we will continue our search. Pros: Quick seating, reasonable service, average food Cons: Tasteless margaritas more

Bad service, not good mexican food 7/22/2007

Seating is self seating and the service is slow,\r I ordered a tamale and got a meat wrapped in a flour tortilla smothered in sauce. I asked the waitress if this was indeed a corn tamale and she said it was. My date confirmed what I saw was a flour tortilla folded under the sauce, he tasted it and thought it was a flour tortilla and not corn tamale.\r I expect the menu to be representative of traditional mexican fare.\r She removed the dish (along with the silverware) \r Pros: nice ambiance, cozy Cons: Bad slow service more

Great food and service 2/10/2007

We are repeat customers to this Mexican restaurant and thoroughly enjoy each visit. Each meal starts with warm tortilla chips and 2 salsas. We have had great Carne Asada, Shrimp with Garlic, Chicken & Rice and Margaritas and the wait staff is very attentive. Chili Rellanos not what we're used to, however, every other dish on the menu has been excellent. Pros: Great food and friendly wait staff more

Bad service, repeatedly ... 1/13/2006

I like their margaritas. I even like their Pollo a la Crema and their Burritos. But their servie sucks, and badly. Three years ago, it was good. I'm actually there now, using my mobile device, and I am simply apalled at the bad service. This was once one of my favorite weekend hangouts ... it's now towards the bottom of the list. Go for the margaritas if you're in the mood for some, but plan on managing the servers yourself. Pros: margaritas, burritos, pollo a la crema Cons: service, non-americanized food more

El Stinko Grande. Good reviews are 2-3 years old! 3/20/2005

Wow..something must have changed a couple of years back. We went because of the 9.2 rating here.. Never again, without checking LOTS deeper. Steer clear of the Enchiladas Rancheras. I had them & was immensely underimpressed. The Chile Rellenos looked and tasted like none we've had before. (As in: pepper, wrapped with cheddar cheese and rolled in a tortilla.) I asked the waitress about it. She said they are supposed to be a ""Little omelette"". She didn't recognize what we were served. No choice of black or red beans, the rice was tasteless and the ""shredded beef"" in various dishes was stringy and poorly seasoned. I mean, even the Ice Tea was lousy! OH! The Pico de Gallo was great! And I did have some decent guacamole there as an appetizer a couple of months ago. I think that was more a tribute to the avocados than anything else. Pros: Pico de Gallo, Guacamole Cons: Food Quality more

Overrated 6/20/2003

I went there because it had a 9.7 overall rating. The restaurant was itself nice, but the service was terrible. Myself and a friend both had empty soda glasses as well as water glasses for at least 5 minutes before refills arrived. Once we finished we had to wait another 10 minutes before the waiter brought us our check. The food was edible, but not what I would call ""Mexican"" food, maybe more like Chi-Chi's ""southwest cuisine"" more

this is the best in town. 2/10/2003

This is excellent mexican food. They also have excellent service and a good atmosphere. Good for going out with friends, to going out with family and on even on a date. I would really recommend coming to Kirkland to try this place. Prices are great also. Pros: good price, quality service more

pancho villa:} 2/1/2003

i have been eating here, captial hill location, since the early 80's and sometimes eat there several times a week. i think my record is 5 times in a week. tell you something? it is family owned and great pride is taken in their food and service. if you havent tried them, you are missing it. if you know some spanish use it here but it is not needed. enjoy! Pros: food, price, staff more

by far the BEST!!!!!! 8/29/2002

The Original Jalisco's in Lower Queen Anne on the Eastside of the street is the best Mexican food in Seattle by Far!!!! Their Chile colorado & Chicken & Mole are to die for I could take a bath in it it's that good and their waitstaff is better then any I've had serve me in any Mexican restaurant they all are fluent in Spanish & English which only adds to the great dining experience You should all go check it out but make sure you go to the Little Jalisco's not the one across the street by far the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: TONS of food, cheap, quick service Cons: none, none, none more

Best ""NW"" Mexican around 7/18/2002

You don't get ""real"" Mexican food here in the PNW but Jalisco's is delicious anyway. Try it next time you have a craving for decent semi-Mexican food. more
