Hanno Ruth Md

After seeing several other Dermatologists in the area over the years, I went to see Dr. Hanno and was so glad I did. She was incredibly knowledgeable, professional and straightforward in her approach. I really appreciated that she did not try to convince me to spend money on medically unnecessary cosmetic procedures or skincare products as so many other Dermatologists have. My only regret is that I didn't start seeing her years ago. I probably would have saved a lot of money on skin care products that don't work. more

My name is Leonard Resnick, and I am submitting my review for Dr Ruth Hanno. I was born in Philadelphia, in 1927. as my father was born there in 1894. We both had served our country, he in WW I and myself in WW II Unfortunate he passed away in 1935 at the age of 41. For many years since he has gone I have asked myself ,If only He had been born in 1927 Would he have lived to my present age of 85 in extremely and excellent and vigorous health. My wife and I came to Tampa in 1985 having taken advantage of the most wonderful gift to me The GI Bill of Rights, enabling me to work continously from 1947 till 1987. We have been seeing Dr Hanno since the mid 1980's She has treated all of our dermatology needs with extreme skill and wonderful results. Okay, let me start off by saying that I really wish I had seen the other review of her before I went to go see her. I've never rated anything before but feel the need to warn others. She is, like the other person said, absolutely arrogant, completely lacking in bedside manners, and refuses to listen to you at all. She was completely dismissive of my concerns and just seemed like she wanted to cram as many patients in a day as possible. I can't really comment on her knowledge since I just had common acne issues and she acted as if I were just wasting her time. Pros: um... easy to find? Cons: everything else more

Dr. Hanno was close by, so I made an appt. with her. My friend, also a doctor, had warned me that Dr Hanno is ""Abrupt. Some say rude."" I did not heed the warning. I paid the price. Dr. Hanno did not examine me. She never came near me or looked at the condition. She sat across the room and argued, contradicted and aggressively put down everything I said. I tried to discuss a product I had been told to use by her staff b/c it contained an ingredient I had told them I was allergic to. This very ingredient had willfully or negligently been prescribed in a medicine despite my warning them that I could not tolerate it. The ingredient was in high quantity and it had produced an allergic reaction. A very expensive, painful and rather slow healing reaction. The Dr. Hanno was neither sympathetic, sorry or willing to admit that a mistake had been made, even though I was armed with all kinds of research proving that the ingredient was indeed responsible for the type of reaction that I had gotten. She disputed everything, and although I was only there looking for a solution, not a real apology (big ego doctors never apologize!), she was nasty beyond all professional boundaries. I got up not 90 seconds into her tantrum and told her she was rude, and clearly had not kept up with the current research in her field if I had to acquaint her with all the articles and research and then have her argue with me. I told her I was leaving and did so. She quite literally has, in my opinion, less knowledge about skin than a common aesthetician. She should no longer be in practice without better skills.
