Try another Dr than the one I had. 2/26/2008

BE PREPARED!!! Do lots of research on your symptoms and be ready to tell them over and over and over and over again what they are and what you think is the problem and ultimately what resolution you're looking for. I had problems dating back to over a year and recently added some symptoms which caused me to come in to get a diagnosis. \r \r Long and short, they didn't do a good job with the details. I had to hound them about my symptoms and what I suspected was the problem. I went through an EGD and colonoscopy to determine if I had celiac only to find out that I could have had a blxxd test from the start (had a bunch of other blxxd tests but this one wasn't added even though I asked about celiac). Contrary to my research, Dr. Morris stated the blxxd test wais 98% accurate. They did a series of blxxd work, the EGD and colon and told me all looked good....and that was it. I'm still sick as a dog, tired, either diarreah or constipated, etc. So after several thousands of dollars of tests and doctor's visits, I'm leaving with the knowledge I learned on the Internet (and will try) and no diagnosis or advice from the medical doctor. \r \r Oh, I won't go so far as to say Dr Morris lied to me, but I will say I have some concerns. When I made the appointment I spoke about celiac, giardia and amoebas. When I had my consultation, I spoke about those items. After the colonoscopy I spoke about those items and asked if a sample for the giardia and amoebas were taken, Dr Morris said yes. I get to the follow-up appt, no giardia/amoeba tests. \r \r If you're detail oriented, have a complete understanding of your symptoms and ask LOTS of questions, deal with Dr. Morris and his staff. I haven't dealt with the other doctors so they may be fine. Pros: Bedside manner was good. Cons: Bedside manner voided by lack of substinance more
