Best

We're certainly not limited in our eating habits, from fast food/dives/diners to fancy upper crust places,...

Worst

Ok

Over Rated. Half the time the steaks are not cooked as requested. The creme' brule' was soup. A restaurant of this calibre and pricing should be exceptional. It's far from it.

This restaurant is very overrated. 9/9/2006

Our waiter we had was rude and insulting. Finally, the atmosphere inside was horrible. He refused to refill drinks. This restaurant is very overrated. I would not recommend. Pros: I can't think of any pros. Cons: Expensive, Poor Service more

Loved It!! 9/1/2006

My hotel concierge referred me to Bone's this past week. I can't say enough what pleasurable experience my guests and I had. The old school atmosphere, the food and the service all combine to make this place the real deal. Our waiter's name was Derek and was about as good as they get. His service was warm, personable and very professional. If you're to have dinner at Bone's, skip lunch. We had an appetizer platter of shrimp, lobster, mussels and crab that was astounding. My ribeye was juicy and delicious. Next time I'm in Atlanta, I will definitely return to Bone's. Pros: These folks know what they are doing. Cons: No cigar smoking. more

I am new to the City of and Atlanta and have been desperate to find the perfect place to bring friends and family, for a top dinning experience. BONES IS IT! Finally, after hitting all the top steakhouses in the city I have been successful in finding the one. Bones is not only the finest steak I have had, but also the most exciting and intoxicating dining experience to date.\r I have had the pleasure of dining in the Bones establishment on three occasions, and no longer will I go to the competetors. The entire staff from the valets to the time we left, was superior to all others. Greetings are genuine and personal upon entering and exiting the restaurant and the attention to detail is impecable . The staff is knowledgeable and provides a service that exceeds all expectations. \r To any all Atlanta residents, especially those new to the area, I recommend the Bones Experience; as one worth trying! Pros: From the valet to the time we left everything was perfect! Cons: N/A more

Great Customer Service 8/27/2006

I was just in Bones the other night for dinner and I must say it is better then any other steakhouse in the US. I have been to them all and Bones continues the have the most professional waitstaff and darn tasty food. Thumbs up to this steakhouse. I will back, this time with more people . Pros: Seasoned Waiters, Great Food Cons: Don't serve breakfast more

Best steaks and service in the South. 8/26/2006

I just read the review by the woman who went to Bone's at 10:00 p.m. on Friday , August 11, ordered a glass of iced tea and complained that ""she didn't get the usual good service that she was used to"" from one of the waiters named ""Pete"". As a frequent customer of Bone's and one who has been assisted by Pete from time-to-time, I would like to point out the fact that he, like all of the other waiters at Bone's are hard-working, helpful, competent and courteous--always. The fact that this obviously sad, unhappy woman landed her broom at Bone's at crush time on a busy weekend night, and possibly was not fawned upon by a waiter who'd most likely been schleping tables since lunch time, tells me that she went there with a chip on her shoulder and Pete happened to wind up in her crosshairs. The fact remains that this is the best steak restaurant in the South and the waiters there are pros--always professional and polite to everyone. In the future, this unhappy woman needs to stay at home and vent her frustrations by kicking her dog--not Pete. more

Southern Hospitality at its finest 8/26/2006

I just have to say that AtlantaGirl's (Aug. 13) review is so far off of the mark that it is pathetic. I dine at Bone's no less than twice a week, both for lunch and dinner, and have for the past few years. Nothing has changed at all!!! The service is still the best around and the food is always on point. No one is perfect and if you can find a restaurant that is, then please enlighten us all. First off, who goes to get an appetizer at 10:00 pm, maybe you are more suited for Waffle House or try Friday's. Sweetheart you will be hard pressed to find what Bone's offers anywhere in the country, much less Atlanta. These guys are awesome and I can only hope that some of them will read this and let the comments of an obviously lonely hag roll off their backs. I don't know 'Pete', but next time I am in I will definitely ask for him just to prove a point.\r \r To you innocent readers out there, here is my perfect Bone's meal and I get it everytime. Lobster Napoleon or the Bisque (appetizer), Bone's Salad (one-of-a-kind), Bone-in Filet or Ribeye, and the pecan pie (to share of course). Try a glass of their newest Pinot Noir, it starts with a 'B', sorry I can't remember the name.\r \r Keep it up you guys, you're doing great!!!! Pros: Great steaks, phenomenal service, awesome wine selection Cons: needs better music, a bathroom in the back room more

still the best 8/25/2006

ate at bone's recently, and as usual, it is still by far the best steakhouse dining experience you will have in atlanta and most other places, too. no where else comes close to the personable, attentive, hospitable and courteous service you will receive here. bad service, bad food, bad experience - i don't doubt it happens, i would just have to say it is a fluke if it does. i am also a firm believer that bad experiences are sometimes perpetuated by the customer. at bone's, if something doesn't please you, tell somebody!! i've never left there unhappy, and i've had things happen...i just tell somebody about it, the problem is rectified, and i'm happy. it's not rocket science. more

Pete's service is atrocious 8/12/2006

I moved to Atlanta 7 years ago, and I have been to a lot of 5 star restaurants. Bones has always been my favorite restaurants because of its mouth watering steaks, outstanding service, and atmosphere. It was 10:00 PM on August 11, 2006, I was out with on of my friends, and she wanted to stop at Bones for an appetizer. I have been very strict diet: so, I cant any food after 7:30 at night. The restaurant was not that full when we arrived, and we were seated in Petes area. She ordered an appetizer, and beverage; I ordered an ice tea. He refused to give us the usually service that I have received at Bones. He didnt come back to our table to check on us, he was inconsistent with his service to our table and he to refresh our drinks. He thinks he is not going to get a high tip, he will shun you and hide in the back. Is this Bones policy? As every review has stated already, the food here is top notch. However, the service is atrocious and after last night's debacle I'll be not be returning. In the past I have always recommend this restaurant after this experience I will not be able to do this anymore. Pros: Great Steaks Cons: Poor Service ~ It has lost it 5 star quailty ~ more

Not worth the bill! 7/24/2006

I took my parents and brother (who were visiting from out of state) to Bones last week. I was hoping to show them a good time and a great meal. I had high expectations going in. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the service, atmosphere and food. I honestly have no idea how they're rated so highly. Here were the problems-\r \r 1. It smells like smoke when you first walk in. \r 2. Very close seating, and very loud. It was so loud it actually hurt my dad's ears!\r 3. My brother's steak wasn't cooked correctly- we had to send it back. He ordered his steak Medium and it was CLEARLY medium rare. Ok, I'm sorry, but if you pay $40 for a steak- they better get it right the first time. But, even worse- we spent 10 minutes trying to get our server's attention to send it back!!\r 4. My steak (I had the petite filet) was my least favorite of all the steaks I've had in atlanta restaurants known for steak- Chops, Ruth's Chris, Blue Ridge Grill, NY prime, Hal's etc... they're all better.\r 4. We ordered dessert and 4 coffees. The dessert got to our table before the coffee. Then, when the bill came the server charged us for 4 double espressos!!! Coffee for $20!! I don't think so. They did take the coffee off... but com'mon- that's a pretty bad ""mistake.""\r 5. To top it off some- woman was pucking in the bathroom when my mom went in to use the restroom. Granted, the restaurant can't neccessarily control this one- but it didn't help the situation!\r \r Overall- it was not anywhere close to what I was expecting. In fact, it was a disappointing experience. \r \r There is only one reason to go to this restaurant- to show off to business colleagues on the company's tab. Do not go here for any other reason.... you'll be disappointed. I have no idea how they get off charging what they do- oh yea, probably because the only people who go there are all business men showing off to their colleagues on the company tab!! Pros: um.... not really sure. Too much competition in this town- they don't stack up. Cons: WAY to expensive for what you get. They're average at best. more

Best piece of meat to put in my mouth! 7/19/2006

Amazing Steak, Amazing Wine, Amazing Service, Amazing Dining Experience 7/19/2006

I took my boyfriend to Bones for his 25th birthday. We had a semi-private romantic room, a table decorated with sparkly stars and ribbons, and an extremely friendly staff to welcome us. I fell in love with the place with my first taste of their warm, crusty bread. I ordered the ribeye (bring your appetite!) and my boyfriend ordered the filet. Mine was the most flavorful steak I have ever tasted, and his was as tender as butter. The waiter recommended a wine which was delicious - the entire experience was well worth every single penny. Everyone was so kind and so attentive - I felt like I was royalty being waited on by my bestest friends. By far the best steakhouse in Atlanta, and by far the best steakhouse that this girl has ever been to! It could make a vegetarian turn carnivore. A million thumbs up - thanks for helping to make my boyfriend's birthday dinner such a memorable and special occasion. more

Chop House with great culinary chops 6/20/2006

My husband and I went to Bones for our 3rd anniversary. When we arrived for our reservation, the staff had decorated our table with ribbons and confetti in honor of the ocassion. The entire wait staff was very attentive and helpful, though they were a little baffled when asked to recommend a wine selection to accompany our meal. The waiter gave suggestions, but really was unsure of what would be paired best. I expected a more experienced answer, nonetheless, we were able to choose a fantastic wine. The food itself was wonderful, though I made the mistake of ordering my filet a little over prepared - my fault entirely. The mixed grill that my husband ordered was fabulously prepared and presented. Our sides were also great. I was not expecting family style sides, but it was nice that we were able to order 2 and share. At the end of the meal, the waiter brought us a slice of Mile High Pie as a congratulations for our anniversary. It was the perfect end to a fantastic meal. The best part about Bones is it versatility - perfect for a romantic dinner, equally perfect for a business meeting over great food and drinks. A must for anyone who lives in the city. Pros: complimentary valet, great wait staff more

Over Rated 6/4/2006

Steak was good, nothing spectactular. Was expecting heavenly steak based on prices & it being rated #1. Service was great, except that the server kept bringing food out I didn't ask for and being charged for it. My husband and I briefly mentioned he graduation & after our main course he brought out dessert with a candle on it. Then after dessert, he asked if we'd like coffee and I mentioned no, I really don't drink coffee & he said that the coffee was really good and came out with a cup. Valet was quick, bathrooms were outdated & only 2 stalls, server was pushy, decor was boring & tacky, food was brought out quick, alcohol & water are chooses of beverages. Pros: Quick food, Quick valet, Quick seating w/rsrvt Cons: Pushy Server, Prices not justified, Limited beverages more

Great night out 5/3/2006

In my opinion Bone's is the number one steakhouse in Atlanta! The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, from the moment I made my reservation to the moment I walked in the door. And the food, well, what can I say it speaks for itself. Would definately recommend Bone's to anyone looking for a nice night out. Pros: Service , Food , Hospitality more

Bone's sets the bar for food and service ! 4/28/2006

I was most pleasantly surprised upon my first visit to Bones. From the moment I stepped out of my car to the moment of departure the staff at Bones really out did themselves.Their hospitality was exceeded only by the quality of their superb food. It's nice to know that that there are still restaurants out there that truly care about their guests. I most definately will return. Pros: sevice, food, the staff Cons: No late night breakfast more

Best Steakhouse in Atlanta 4/20/2006

Bone's is the best steakhouse in Atlanta. Through the years, I have never had a meal which was less than superb. The steaks are incredible and the wine list outstanding, while the staff is gracious and attentive. Make certain to stop and have a drink at the bar, for the bartenders are the nicest in town. And save room for dessert, for they round out a perfect meal! more

Best in the country 2/14/2006

Went this week while in Atlanta on business. Atmosphere very nice, lobster bisque as good as O'Rourke's in Houston which I think has the best. The steak and sides were ok, nothing spectacular, but will return. Pros: bar, atmosphere, drinks Cons: ok sides, ok steak more

Tops in my book 6/5/2005
