It had been many years since I had been to the Blue Ridge Grill and I had forgotten what a neighborhood gem this restaurant really is. From the warm and friendly staff, to the cosy lodge-like atmosphere of the room, every detail was carefully considered and attended to with grace. Service was prompt and curtious and the food was fantastic. I can't remember having a better dining experience in Atlanta for some time and I would recommend it to all of my friends, neighbors, and business associates. Pros: everything Cons: nothing more

The ""BEST"" crab cakes in town. Also try the seared scallops, which will melt in your mouth. Great customer service combined with great food will have you talking about this hidden treasure over-and-over! more

Love the atmosphere. You feel like you are at a cozy mountain retreat. The food is excellent. I had the filet with crab meat & bernaise. YUMMY!! The corn souffle is sooo good. If you like grits, this is the place to get them. I ended my meal with the apple tart. It came with cinnamon ice cream, so good! This is a great spot to take a date! Pros: Atmosphere/Food more

This is a very nice restaraunt. The food was great, the ambiance loud (very loud). We had a family dinner there on a Sunday afternoon. We reserved a wine room downstairs, where it was considerably less noisy, but oddly secluded (kind of creepy inside the velvet womb). The service was a bit too subserviant for our tastes, all very old school and old money southern superiority. HOWEVER, with all that said, it was a fabulous meal and a great time was had by all. This was our first visit back to The Blue Ridge Grill in several years. As to why, we are still trying to figure it out. This is one special dining destination, that is charming and unique. It's a Ralph Lauren mountain lodge, with a cozy fireplace, and loaded with pure elegant Southern Charm. The menu is still somewhat rustic-southern-and gourmet, all at once. We split an app. of Iron Skillet Mussels. If you like Mussels, you will love them here. I had to get the Fried Oyster Salad, with a terrific made-in-house Ranch. My companion, ordered the Warm Goat Cheese Salad. We could have made a full course out of the app. and salads, with the wonderful bread. But with the great wine pairings our very nice server suggested, we were ready for the main event. I had the Horseradish Crusted Grouper w/Fennel and a Grapefruit Butter Sauce. I've never had sauce that unique, to drown each bite of Grouper in, terrific.\r My partner had the best Grilled Wild Scottich Salmon w/Artichoke Relish, we both raved about. It was the best entree, but mine was outstanding also. The Grille is so refined and relaxing, I did not want to even think about ending the night. Oh I forgot about the outstanding Squash Casserole, better than anywhere in the South, and Cucumber-Vidalia Onion Relish, is this home-made or what. Growing up in the South, Sunday Dinners were never like this. And neither was the Warm Bourbon Pecan Pie. Dare I say, I wanted to take a whole pie home. I have been going to Blue Ridge Grill for at least a decade now, and I've never had a bad experience--quite the contrary: the meals are always excellent and the service is always exceptional. For my wife's birthday, they went out of their way to make her feel special, including putting decorations on the table. The greeters (one of whom is usually the service manager) are always polite and efficient. The patio is a great place to have a drink or two before dinner or just to have a few drinks without having dinner there. The portions are pretty good. The only drawback is that your bill will be rather hefty, but if you're going for a special occasion, can afford it, or someone else is paying, this is one of my favorite places, hands down, in Atlanta. The service was great. The food was very good. However, the ala carte pricing and the ridiculously overpriced entrees, salads and vegetables make it an unpleasant experience. At those prices, the entree should include three vegetables and the salad and even dessert. more

With Mussels the size of a cell phone and sushi-grade tuna that melts in your mouth, this place is one of the semi-hidden gems of Atlanta. Yes, it is a little pricey, but well worth the extra expense. And if you get there early, be sure to hit the bar and chat with Nichole - quite possibly one of the best bartenders in Atlanta. If one knows a frequent diner of the place, one also knows which items to order or avoid. An out-of-towner, I wasn't so lucky. I don't know if we arrived before the after-church set or what, but there were many available tables that Sunday afternoon. The service was good, once we got past the frosty ""hostess"" who insisted on getting our names, though we weren't being put on a waiting list. (That felt invasive; furthermore, it was cheesey when said chick called out something like ""thanks for coming, Mrs. X"" as I passed on the way to the ladies room a short while later. Golly, she remembered my name! And it's been twenty minutes. I'm touched.) The tortilla soup was fab. The corn souffle is a flop. The wood grill smelled awesome. My biggest compliment goes to the servers who made every effort to welcome our 1 year old daughter. The polished and polite service is unbelievable. Try the filet- the flavor and texture will amaze you. The whole snapper was extremely fresh and flakey. I eat out a lot and rarely ever find a restaurant in which both the food and service complement eachother this well. The dining was such a sheer delight that my date and I can't stop grinning on our drive home. more
