Had such a great tour, the grounds are amazing 4/16/2006

Everything about this estate is wonderful. The winery is not to be missed; there are many offerings to try out so plan for plenty of time and EAT first or you will be tipsy by the time you try them all. The bistro cafe outside the winery is not to be missed, the food is so good. Every restaurant on the estate has some form of puff pastry baked brie, and try each and every one because they are amazing. So crispy and light on the outside and so savory on the inside. These people know their food! We took the tour of the house, and were very impressed with the entire tour. So much to see you really need to do more than one. We had hoped to do the candlelight tour but our timing didn't permit it. We also went in the late winter, so the grounds weren't in full bloom of course, which must be quite a show. There are horseback riding tours in the spring and summer that I hope to go back and do someday. more

Top-Notch Service 3/27/2006

A friend of mine recently went on his honeymoon at the Biltmore Estate's on-site hotel. The experience was amazing. For instance, they were able to arrange a private dinner on a terrace with an incredible view - for which he was able to don his tuxedo, and his wife put back on her wedding dress, and dine and dance in their own, well-served, little universe for the evening. Every detail was taken care of for them. Though not the cheaptest place to stay in the area by any means, they will never forget their very memorable honeymooon. This is a great place to stay for special occassions, or to make an ordinary weekend getaway extraordinary. more

Deer Park 3/27/2006

Of all the restaurants at Biltmore Estate, Deer Park is the only one I've had the pleasure of visiting. The food is excellent. They have a buffet available, but my group and I made reservations ahead of time to enjoy a family-style lunch. When a meal begins with five types of salad on a lazy susan before me, I know I'm in for a treat. Traditional Southern cooking, gormet style, is the best way to describe the food. I still salivate remembering the Waldorf salad and the plumpended dried cranberries. Though a little pricey, a meal here is memorable and quite worth it. more

Biltmore Estate 3/23/2006

The Biltmore Estate is a wonderful place to visit. It truly is an amazing thing to tour, especially when you think that this house was built over 100 years ago when modern conveniences were not the norm. The house was electric which was amazing for the time & has over 40 bathrooms! We stayed at the Biltmore Inn and toured the house on three different days as part of our hotel package. Each day we noticed something that we didn't notice the day before. The art work and artifacts in the house are just amazing. I can't imagine the total amount of property in the house, as many things in there are priceless. There is a chess set from Napoleon for instance. It is a must see! more

A Must See 8/19/2005

Four of the most fascinating acres at the estate are all under one roof. America's largest home boasts 250 rooms, 65 fireplaces, an indoor pool, bowling alley, priceless art and antiques. There are also a couple of nice places to eat, but they are over priced for what you get. The gardens are beautiful whether you go during the summer or during Christmas for the lights. more

Tour the house, gardens, and winery 8/12/2005

We enjoy going to Biltmore with the whole family. The tour of the house is informative and leaves you plenty of time to wander. Their booklets are very informative and helpful. There are multiple restaurants on site, as well as places to grab a quick lunch or an ice cream. There is also a winery with tastings (their Riesling and Merlot are wonderful!). You can also tour their magnificient gardens. For Christmas, they complete deck the place in lights and decorations. There is also a small village outside of it for shopping and eating, too. more
