I Would Love To Give 5 Stars BUT.... 8/19/2009

I decided to get back into riding a few years ago and picked Allanti an Franklin Road because it's close AND because I like locally owned businesses. Even though the cost may be a little higher, customer service is almost always better locally.... rather than buying from a major chain store. To me, customer service is king. I've spent around $1750 - $2000 at Allanti in the last couple of years and never had a problem.... An occasional flat tire or brake adjustment was greeted with a friendly smile by Adam and others... You'd be fixed and out the door you went, satisfied. I'm not sure when he came on the scene but there's a guy named, ""N,"" working the counter who just doesn't possess great people skills. It's not that he can't get the job done.... It's his personality.... Aggressive, rude and unrefined. Stopping by has become stressful as this guy is abrasive. Several times, he's been condescending. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but he proved me wrong the next time I stopped in for a purchase. I tried to figure out my part.... if I had done anything wrong. All I did was show up and to get an adjustment made on a bike part and make a purchase. I even sensed the stress in the other employees. NOTE TO OWNER: ""N"" is NOT a good choice for working the counter at the Franklin Road store. I won't be back until this guy goes away. Pros: Most of the Staff Have Great People Skills Cons: One of the Staff Has Poor People Skills more

Sending my bike to Arizona by DHL meant I wouldn't have to deal with it in the airport. I was concerned about reassembly. So I took it to Allanti along with my Bike Pro case, and presto the guys packed it for me, showing me how it was done, and gave me confidence that reassembly would be no problem. Pros: Right on Franklin Road off I-65 more

West End Rudest Repair Guy 8/1/2007

great bike shop only getting better 7/14/2007

After recently moving to the Nashville area, I had a chance to check out some of the bike shops. Many people have suggested both Allanti as well as Bike Pedlar (the West End location) for various reasons. While bad experiences can happen for various reasons on various occasions, I have had nothing but good experiences from both. They are completely different stores, professional with different inventories. The nice thing about that is ultimately the selection you can choose from. I would highly recommend both, and seeing as I spend most of my time at Bike Pedlar, can attest to their willingness to make it happen for you. Pros: huge selection of ""novelty"" bikes. Cons: if item is not in stock, may have to wait a day or two to get it. more

West End Rudest Repair Guy 6/8/2007

For the most part I have had a good experience with this company, Bike Peddlar, on West End, (owed by this same chain,) until recently. I had stopped past to buy two bicycle spokes, granted a small transactions, but I like to know my business is appreciate to continue to use a company. I was told by phone to bring the wheel with me. When I arrived I went to the repair area explained I needed to buy two spokes for this wheel. It was handed off to ""Mike L"" where he proceeded to remove my fly wheel, took my hub loose and explained it was going to cost me $30 to put the spokes on. I explained I just asked for two spokes to BUY, at which point he got them in a huff. When I got home I made my adjustments four ball baring were jammed under the fly wheel. I was furious. I returned the next day, went to the repair area where Mike L was working and explained what he had done and said I wanted him to pull the fly wheel off and give the 4 ball bearings back. He pulled the fly wheel off and letting the bearings fall to the floor along with seal and said ""There"", to which I explained I need those bearings. I picked up the seal. He went to the bearing box and dumped a hand full of bearing in my hand. (I hope they are the right ones. I haven't checked yet.) No bag, no thank you, no apology: super rude. So I came for two spokes and as result of your employee messing up my wheel, I had to working on it for an extra three hours, I returned to get the rudest service ever and now I will spend another two hour to get my bike into adjustment. No apology or anything. Pros: They have some replacement parts Cons: Their staff is likely to screw your stuff up. more
