I've seen some of the other reviewers talk about the attitude at Joey's - while it is true that this restaurant is far too busy for casual "make nice" chitchat with the customers, I have consistently pleasant and EFFICIENT service at Joey's.
But it is really the food that makes this place so great. I frequently call ahead to order a whole pie to take home. They are generous with their toppings and each pizza is of highest quality. Because I don't like reheated slices (anywhere), I order a salad or pasta when I go at lunch - delish! A potential negative, neither of the ladies who work behind the counter has a very loud voice, even when on microphone, so you have to listen hard to hear when your order is ready. This is especially true at lunch, when it gets noisy at Joey's.
Pros: Generous toppings on made-to-order pies! Pasta! Salad!
Cons: Long line at lunch; not open on weekends; loud

We came across this place rather out of the blue one day before the renovations and full instantly in love. Their sushi is so tasty and fresh that it's no wonder it is a fav. amongst all the celebs in this town. We always come across someone since we go once a week for lunch. Last week was Sheryl Crow and the week before was Brad Paisley. Great food for the price! You HAVE to check this place out if you like sushi.
Pros: Sushi
Cons: Wait time.

Recently I was taken to Jasmine by a group of co-workers who insisted it was definitely worth the trip down 65 from our office near 100 Oaks. I had been by the building before, but always thought the restaurant must be yet another incarnation of "strip-mall Chinese," judging from the plain brick exterior.
Wrong on all counts. The interior sports nicely textured exposed brick walls, and low-slung bench tables like those in a sushi restaurant. The place was packed our first trip out—and given the dearth of restaurants in the area—is always a good sign.
Our service was fast and efficient, and nary a single error was made in anything. We passed everything around—highlights were the ginger tofu, the tom kai soup, and the spicy hung ray curry. Loved everything, and it was definitely a bargain for lunch at less than $10/per person. Will have to try the banana dessert on the return trip.
The only criticism I have would be that it will definitely take up 2+ hours to get in, eat and get back to work. Of course this was a noon—I'll have to try it at an off-peak time to see if the kitchen is a little speedier.
Pros: Consistent, cute, great value at lunch, tons of options.
Cons: Makes for a 2-hour lunch.

I am from California where sushi is extremely popular, i have eaten at some of the top sushi places in Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, etc and I must say Shogun beats them all! I can guarantee that anyone who steps foot in Shogun will not be disappointed! The Shogun staff are very friendly and strive to make your experience one to be remembered! The sushi options are endless, i personally recommend the Dino Roll. The steak grilled on the Hibachi is to die for! I have never tasted meat that melts in your mouth like this. I have always been impressed with the quick service and never feel i have wasted a dime there! Thanks SHOGUN!
Pros: Great atmosphere & awesome service
Cons: none

I absolutely love this place. I eat there several times a month and would do so more if it was closer. Best ribs in town and my wife loves the smoked turkey. Only place that I have seen that serves collard green and their unique style of potato salad. Place has great oldies music playing and the staff is very friendly. I always have a manager stop by and say hello when I'm there. Nice to go to a place where you always feel like a "local".
Pros: Only place that has dry rub ribs in town.
Cons: It takes me 30 mins to get there.

Corky's is famous for their ribs and there is a reason. The ribs are great tasting and great quality pork. They give you two choices for the flavor, dry rub or sauce. You can get them with dry rub and always add your own sauce or if you get a full slab you can get half and half.

We recently went to eat at The Yellow Porch but didn't have a reservation and they were full, they ask if we would like for them to call Wild Iris and see if they had room. The only room at Wild Iris was at the bar so they saved us two seats.
We had been wanting to eat at Wild Iris for sometime but don't get to Brentwood very often but we had a great time! From the first course thru dessert was fantastic!! Will definately be back and will probably sit at the bar, very cozy and a great bartender!
Pros: Food, Wine, Service
Cons: Driving to Brentwood
