AMC Saratoga 14 is not a very big theater, but it's pretty nice. Everything is so clean and organized and it is rarely crowded. Easy to find parking and close to food stores and shopping areas. The tickets are what you would find at other theatres priced at about $8-$9 for a general admission.(they do give discounts for kids and seniors). The service is great, and food is averagely priced. more

Decent place to see a movie 8/10/2005

This theater is a decent place to go see a movie, if you don't mind the mainly teenage crowd that seems to gather there. It doesn't always have to big "blockbuster" movies, but you can usually find the fun, smaller films here. more

plays more "family" movies than mercado 20, for better or worse 8/7/2005

amc has two theatres in my area: amc mercado 20's right down the street, and amc saratoga 14's a short drive away. amc mercado 20 is obviously bigger and is also more lively, while amc saratoga 14 is located in a more quiet neighbourhood and plays more kids' movies. it's not as easy to find things to do around that theatre, but there are a couple of good restaurants nearby. the sushi boat place across the street is good. in general, amc theatres never have enough indie and foreign films. that's a shame. more

14 screen cinema 7/26/2005

Great ambience and great crowd...In my opinion, Amc is the place with the best sound system. They have amazing nachos and pop corns and have 14 screen in this one...Even though San Jose has a lot of AMC's but AMC Saratoga and Great America Parkway have been my favorite coz of great crowd that visits these places and great sound system. more

medium size, not bad 6/24/2005

I have been here twice with an old acquaintance. It looks somewhat old fashioned and the screens are not super large. The sound system is good, though. The service staff was pretty helpful and understanding. We had to leave before the movie started once and they had no problem refunded our ticket money. This theater draws a loyal crowd, but it's not extremely popular with general movie-goers. It's sister, the Mercado, on the other hand, is a star. more

Good place for movies 6/20/2005

This is a medium sized theater on the corner of Campbell Ave. and Saratoga. It is usually pretty nice, though it can get pretty crowded. Parking is usually not too much of an issue. There are a few restaurants around in case you want to eat before you see your movie. Since there is a high school nearby, things can get a little rowdy when the teen crowd shows up. Inside the theater, it is usually pretty clean, but the restrooms have been known to need some attention. For some reason this one does not always have the big ticket shows, which can be frustrating, if you assume that it will be there and just show up. more
