Camera 12 offers a great alternative to the gigantic megaplexes which seem all-too common nowadays. Instead, they offer a wide range of art house and independent films. It’s proximity to downtown San Jose makes it good place for dinner and a movie and the City of San Jose offers free parking on nights and weekends so parking is not a problem.

AMC Saratoga 14 is not a very big theater, but it's pretty nice. Everything is so clean and organized and it is rarely crowded. Easy to find parking and close to food stores and shopping areas. The tickets are what you would find at other theatres priced at about $8-$9 for a general admission.(they do give discounts for kids and seniors). The service is great, and food is averagely priced.

The Camera Cinemas at 201 South 2 Street in san jose is my family's favorite movie theater. Not only do they show all the popular first run movies but they also show the art house type movies also. Parking is convenient. Seating is convenient and plentiful. They also offer all the typical theater concessions.

The Almaden didn't horribly dissapoint me, nor did it tickle my tail feathers. Trying out this theater was the result of a decision that my friend and I made to watch a movie in every theater that we came across in the Bay Area (or further). So, we basically just went "just because." It was small to medium sized and they only have a list of five movies at any given time because there are only five screens. They do make an effort to show the most current movies. I appreciate that.

More
If you want to go back in time to simpler movie days this is the place! They show recent films that are currently playing in the neighboring theatres and usually do double header film nights. The place gets packed so go early to get a good spot and fill the car. The pictures aren't the greatest quality and clearest reproduction, but it's all about the drive in experience.

I love this theater. Very conveniently located, with great food and ice cream and stores nearby. They always have a nice selection of movies, give a student discount at all times, and I have always found the place to be very clean. The staff is friendly and the bathrooms are pretty clean as well. Comfortable seats too!! All in all one of the best.

The theatre is brand new and was just added during the recent Oakridge rennovations. It's just under $20 for 2 per evening movie. They only take cash which is kinda annoying, but there is an ATM right there that has a $2 fee. The theatres are generally clean and I think they all have stadium seating and cup holders, which is really nice. But, they are located right in the food court and don't allow you to bring in any outside food. Also, you can hear loud parts in neighboring theatres during your movie and the teenage crowds can be a little overwhelming. Parking can be a pain too, especially during peak mall hours. Your best bet is to head to the Sears parking garage and walk to the theatre through the mall.

It has stadium seating but is a little older than the close theatres. There is usually a nice mix of people of all ages as oppossed to the mall's largely teenage crowed. Movies are just under $10 each and they a lot of theatres and convenient show times. The theatres and bathrooms are usually clean and I haven't had a problem with noisy children during any movies. It's a little out of the way so only good, not great.
