A Designer Gown Rental Store-One Night Affair

I was invited to the Academy Awards this year and was so honored to be invited. Since I have never attended before, I really needed to make sure that I was dresses appropriately. Someone that I got hold of at the Academy actually recommended One Night Affair Gown Rentals. They have been working with them for the past 15 years, so that was all I needed to hear. They got me in right away, and put me together so perfectly, I was totally amazed from head to toe, including the most unbelievable jewels and Mink Coat. I couldn't have asked for better service or selection of beautiful designer gowns that I could have never found in any mall or boutique. It was totally worth the drive from Newport Beach, I will do it again in a heartbeat. They also recommended I try Christian Louboutin Shoes in Costa Mesa, since it was close and their selection was fantastic! I found the most amazing pair of shoes that accented my gown perfectly, since I had a slit up the front leg, the shoe was fully exposed. I have to say that I looked just as amazing as the stars that were nominated! Thank-you to One Night Affair and to everyone that made this possible! more

Before I even walked in the store, I received an absolute FREAK OUT by one of the attendants there...I happened to park too close to her car for comfort and she LOST IT. We stayed to try on dresses, but their selection is dated at best and they will say anything to get you to put down a deposit. Of which I did and regret it. The total price for the dress with alterations would of been about $1500, and for $1900 I got a brand new St. Pucchi dress with a bottle of champagne and complimentary engagement photo session with my fiance from a REAL bridal shop...don't waste your time or money. There are much better deals that are far less tacky. more

1/12/2009  My wife rented a $10K dress here altered and out the door for $1k.  The dress had never been worn, and was basically set aside for her for about 5 months until the fitting/wedding.  The service was helpful, the dress was gorgeous, and there was no hassle getting it fitted or returning it.??My mother in law also rented her evening gown for the wedding from here and had no troubles doing so.  This is a great way to go, especially if you don't want to deal with cleaning and boxing up your own wedding dress.  Lord knows they're a waste of space. more

Men have been renting their tuxedos for decades, it's about time that someone came up with the concept of renting dresses for woman. I'm in the entertainment business and attend premieres all the time, I'm photographed in my gowns, so I don't want to get caught wearing it a second time!!! I have to tell you that my wife and I were not only thrilled with One Night Affair, but they saved us from an absolutely disastrous situation. We put a $1600.00 deposit on a wedding gown at Panache Bridal Salon 6 months before our wedding, we kept calling and calling two months before the wedding to see if the gown had come in yet. I went to One Night Affair to rent my wedding gown for my June 7, 2008 wedding. I didn’t know what to expect, considering that I’ve never done this before. I was very impressed with the selection and the Designers that they carried and found many that were beautiful, but decided to continue shopping until I was positive that I found the perfect dress. I went to all the stores in Beverly Hills, then decided to try the stores along Ventura Blvd. to see if the prices would be better. After 3 solid weeks of shopping and price comparing, I ended back at One Night Affair and rented the first dress I had ever tried on. It was a Design by Rivini, it was not only beautiful, but looked like it was made specifically for me. I had been price comparing and knew this designer was around $3000.00 to $4000.00 in the other stores, so I was thrilled to rent it for $800.00. I also had my Bridesmaids rent evening gowns from them, they all picked out a style that they looked best in, all in black. All eight of us had nothing but wonderful things to say about the entire staff, they were a joy to work with and since I wasn’t a bridezilla, it was a really fun experience! more

Before spending your money anywhere else, check this place out ...it's amazing! they have an incredible selection of the most beautiful designer gowns, all for unbelievable prices...but do your homework first so you actually know what different designers cost, then add on all the extras like tax, alterations etc...etc... I was totally surprised not only by the money that I saved but by the entire experience. I found out about One Night Affair from a friend of a friend, so I didn't take it seriously in the beginning, but later on after I saw what the stores were charging for bridal gowns, I decided to check it out and was absolutely floored, my gown was incredible, I saved $1200.00 and most importantly...I looked gorgeous!!! I CAN’T REPEAT IT ENOUGH.......I HAD THE GREATEST EXPERIENCE AT “ONE NIGHT AFFAIR” WHEN I WENT IN TO RENT MY WEDDING GOWN IN MAY OF 2007. I RECEIVED THE MOST UNBELIEVABLE SERVICE AND ATTENTION, AND IT WAS SUCH A FUN EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND. FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, I ENDED UP WITH MY DREAM GOWN.... A $5500.00 MELISSA SWEET WEDDING GOWN. IT WAS THE SAME GOWN THAT I HAD ORIGINALLY FELL IN LOVE WITH IN ANOTHER BRIDAL SALON BUT WAS HAVING A HARD TIME WITH SPENDING THAT KIND OF MONEY, I JUST WANTED IT SO BAD THAT I WAS TRYING TO REARRANGE MY BUDGET IN OTHER AREAS TO JUSTIFY SPENDING THAT MUCH ON MY OWN GOWN. LUCKILY BEFORE I MADE THAT DECISION I HEARD ABOUT “ONE NIGHT AFFAIR” FROM ANOTHER BRIDE (ASHLEE) IN ANOTHER SALON, I THOUGHT IT WAS WORTH AN APPOINTMENT JUST TO SEE WHAT THEY HAD, NEVER DREAMING WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE. I FOUND A VERA WANG GOWN THAT I REALLY LOVED, BUT I EXPLAINED THAT I WAS IN LOVE WITH THIS OTHER GOWN. KRISTEN (THE SALESGIRL) TOLD ME TO COME BACK THE FOLLOWING WEEK BECAUSE THEY WERE GETTING IN A SHIPMENT OF MELISSA SWEET GOWNS AND I SHOULD CHECK THEM OUT, THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE ONE I ORIGINALLY FELL IN LOVE WITH COULD BE IN THERE. TO MY GREATEST JOY, IT WAS ONE OF THE 10 MELISSA SWEET GOWNS THAT HAD COME IN!!! NEEDLESS TO SAY, I RENTED IT FOR MY FEBRUARY 15TH, 2008 WEDDING. I PAID $895.00 TO RENT IT (INSTEAD OF PURCHASING FOR $5500.00). IT WAS ALTERED TO MY BODY LIKE IT WAS MADE FOR ME, AND ON MY WEDDING DAY I LOOKED AND FELT AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL, THE WAY I ALWAYS FELT I WOULD ON THE MOST WONDERFUL DAY OF MY LIFE, AND NOBODY EVER THOUGHT I RENTED MY GORGEOUS GOWN. ANOTHER ADDED BONUS IS THAT ASHLEE (THE BRIDE WHO TOLD ME ABOUT ONE NIGHT AFFAIR) AND I HAD KEPT IN TOUCH, SHE ALSO RENTED HER GOWN FROM ONE NIGHT AFFAIR, AND WE HAVE BECOME VERY CLOSE FRIENDS. SO MY ALL AROUND EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN SUCH A POSITIVE AND WONDERFUL TIME IN MY LIFE!!! more

This place is the worst, don’t believe all the reviews. I liked the idea of renting a wedding gown, since it would save money. However, - Many of their gowns are rundown and raggedy when looking at it close. - The customer service was the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen. - Making an appointment to go back and see the dress (show your family, bridesmaids, etc.) was impossible, if you want a Friday or Saturday appointment. It is very difficult to coordinate schedules in a work week with everyone. - No piece of mind since you would only be able to pick it up a day or two before your wedding. In the mean time the wedding dress may be renting multiple times and altered multiple times by the time you are ready for your alteration a month or so before your wedding. - You don’t save that much money! All in all, I was very disappointed and 6 weeks before my wedding, I decided to buy for around the same amount!!!! It got altered within a week and I picked it up and am waiting for my wedding day, which is in a month. I would not recommend it. You can find a beautiful gown for a reasonable price, and much better customer service and a piece of mind that you can have your gown at home. more

I found One Night Affair when my son CJ was up for best supporting actor, for the movie "Ray", at the NAACP awards. I have to say I looked FANTASTIC! I had people stopping me the entire night. The gown was absolutely stunning and I have to say the service I received was first class. The girls in the store were so much fun and I had such an amazing selection to choose from. I don't care if the parking lot is small and yes they were very busy, but that didn't take away from the attention they were giving to me. I think they are the hottest thing going.....They've become my new closet!!! more

I have had several wonderful experiences with One Night Affair, starting with my wedding gown which I rented for my wedding last year. I rented a beautiful designer wedding gown and saved thousands of dollars. My overall experience was excellent starting with the great customer service to the wonderful fit of the gown. My mother and I had so much fun with the girls at One Night Affair who gave us great one on one attention and with their help and expertise I found the wedding gown of my dreams! I would suggest to every bride to go rent your gown wedding gown from One Night Affair because you will save so much money, get great service, and a great fit. The seamstress who altered my gown did an amazing job. I just returned once again to One Night Affair to get another gown, this time for a Christmas party... And once again, my experience was wonderful. I got a beautiful gown which I absolutely love and would have paid a fortune for if I bought it at a department store.
