I was assigned to one of their SSDI attorneys after I appealed my initial denial. After I was denied at the reconsideration level, I contacted Phillips Law Group about appealing that decision and they told me ""You have 60 days"". So I had to file the request for an ALJ hearing, even though they were representing me. What are they being paid for?\r
I was only able to speak with the paralegal of my attorney. I had submitted a list of questions that I would like answered, as well as supporting document, and requested an in-person hearing prep with my attorney. I was told that I would have this meeting about a week before my hearing and my questions would be answered. I never had this meeting because, unknown to me, the week before my hearing, my case was transferred to a ""traveling"" attorney. I received a telephone prep appointment instead. I never met my attorney until about 30-45 minutes prior to my hearing. Still no answers to my questions. Now after my hearing, which is listed as a Critical Case, I can not get this Law Group to help me ensure that the case is being processed in accordance with Social Security's laws and regulations under HALLEX I-2-1-40 sections B-2, D, G-4, and K-1. I just get told to wait. They also told me that they couldn't get an audio copy of my hearing, which is funny, because I was able to get one, because I had a question about the hearing hearing. Now, I am waiting and wondering about the questions that I had and if they were looked into, could have made a positive affect on my benefits. \r
This is my experience with Phillips Law Group. For $6k, I would expect to at least been able to have had my questions answered.
