I wonder why they closed down? I know they were being investigated for sick dogs being sold to people. The reason they are sick is that they are getting their dogs form puppy mills in Iowa and Canada. I spoke with Colette from Paradise Kennels in Canada and she said that she never sold puppies to them she was not telling the truth and when challenged she admitted that she had. She is not a breeder. They are getting puppies from dogs that are mass producing for the puppy market. Locked in cages all their life never touching the ground let alone grass. Starving, no human contact, and producing like a machine, litter after litter of puppies for your pleasure. Don't buy from their sister store, PUPPIES GALORE IN CHARLSTON, MA. The staff is nice and the puppies are adorable. But you are supporting a horrible thing by purchasing from them. Look on the Humane society's web site at all the horror stories from puppy mills. These poor dogs. Don't buy from the internet either. Would you support a drug ring? Would you condone murder? Would you support abuse and torture of Pugs, Shitzu's, Havanese, Labradors, ect... If you are participating in the purchase of puppies from pet stores and kennels like this one that it is the same thing. The puppy mills kill the dogs that cannot bread anymore. They leave them to die in a plastic covered box to die. Do some research and pledge not to buy a dog that comes from a mill. No matter how they try and dress it up, they are trying to use your love of animals to fall in love with their product. THAT IS ALL THEY ARE TO THEM.... is a product, a money making machine. It has to stop. In the Amish country in PA, a Amish puppy miller just shot 80 dogs, most of them puppies, because he was going to be inspected for his filthy and diseased establishment.
