Terrible Customer Service 3/21/2007

Ordered a table 11-13-06. Called 3-21-07 to inquire where it was. Was told it wasn't ordered till 2-21-07 and they didn't know why! Said I wanted to cancel the order and have my deposit returned. Was told they couldn't do that until I threatened to take action against them. The man was argumentative and very smart alecky with me. I asked if this delay would be acceptable to him and he admitted ""no"". I was told it would be in ""after the holidays"" and he said whoever told me that was wrong. He said it was ordered from a ""slow"" company, although that information was not given to me when the order was placed. He said the table couldn't be ordered until they had another item to order at the same time?? Anyhow, they have been earning interest on my deposit for four months and only after I threatened to take action against them did he say he would cut a check and I could pick it up or he would mail it to me. I have given this company a lot of business in the past - family room and living room furniture - and was telling my friends how pleased I was with them. They will not get any more of my business if this is how they treat their customers. Also later tried to order a matching item for my living room and was told it wasn't made - until I took a picture from the internet in to prove to them it was. They need to get rid of this argumentative man if they intend to stay in business. The owners are very nice, but he is doing them a disservice. more
