Wayside furniture 12/26/2010

My experience with Wayside was extremely disapointing. We custom ordered two chairs, though they were good looking they were extremely uncomfortable, and defective. They pitched foward, and were nothing like the sample in the store. A representative sent by the store refused to acknowledge that they were defective.Wayside"s customer service was rude, and never properly acknowledged our disatisfaction. more

David Swicegood from Wayside Furniture was the epitomy of customer service, attention, and detail. From my days in design, I feel that the only way to sell furniture and textiles is to have an expert willing to research your possible purchases. He not only perused what I wanted, but he gave me numerous options as well. If you want someone to actually USE technology (like that wonderful invention called email and hyperlinks) to keep you abreast of their findings and show you that customer service does still exist, meet my new friend David at Wayside. Pros: Fantastic sales representative, service, attention Cons: Rep doesn't live with me to advise me on my next purchase more

Quality furniture and helpful staff 6/12/2009

I have made several purchases from Wayside over the years. When I moved to Raleigh years ago I was told they were the nicest furniture store in town. I recently made another purchase from the store on Capital Blvd. I was very pleased with the way the furniture is displayed and my salesperson was friendly and very knowledgeable. I needed help selecting the right size furniture for my space and am thrilled with my purchases. The delivery staff was very helpful and I appreciated the care they took when they delivered my furniture. I highly recommend Wayside to anyone looking for quality furniture. Pros: Wide selection, designers on staff Cons: Capital traffic more

A must for furniture buyers 4/8/2008

We just moved here from NJ and had been to serveral stores in the area and was about to give up when our neighbor told us about Wayside. Upon entering the store we could tell we were in the right place. The merchandise is high quality and stylish. There design staff was very helpful and really listen to our needs and concerns. We placed our order and had most things in place within a few weeks. We are totally pleased and would advise anyone looking for furniture or design advice to check out there store. They have two stores and we have not visited there Hillsbourgh St. store but have heard nice things on that one as well. Pros: Helpful design service Cons: traffic on Capital is bad more

horrible experience, absolutely unbelievable! 12/10/2007

I was astonished by the horrible customer service I received at this furniture store. I went in on a weekend and looked through their catalogs for a particular piece of furniture I had been looking for. I was given a copy of the measurements and was quoted a price. After I had ensured the furniture piece would fit well in my home, I made another trip to the store to place my order. I again found the piece in the catalog and asked to order it. I casually mentioned that I?d been in the store a couple of weeks before. They asked me what price I?d been quoted. I told them I was unsure but that I wanted to go ahead and order the piece. They told me that I would have to call back the following day when the person that had originally priced the piece was there. I let them know that she had only spent maybe 5 minutes with me and that I didn?t feel that she really ?helped me.? They didn?t care. They said that they couldn?t order the piece of furniture because they didn?t know what price I?d been given. I had no idea that prices were that arbitrary. I again stated that I just wanted to place the order at whatever the sales price was. Again, they refused and said that I should just call back the next day when the original sales person was going to be there. I was so insulted that they wouldn?t let me order the furniture when I had made a special trip to the store for that purpose. I was also skeptical of their methods of ?pricing.? Since they refused to let me order the furniture, I went home and got on line to find another dealer of that particular brand. I ended up getting the peice a lot cheaper (over 500 dollars cheaper) and the person was pleasant and helpful (and allowed me to order the furniture, imagine that!). I would never shop at this store or at this furniture company and would advise people to call around and check prices. Pros: good location Cons: horrible customer service, poor value, prices higher than other local stores, little variety of floor models more

Great customer service and merchandise 2/22/2007

By far the best place for personal customer service. I recently purchased furnishings for my upscale beach home. Not only was the home decorated at a great savings to me but I received personal attention from the store owner. Few retail establishments can say that the store owner was in the home (prior to our personally moving in) even on Sunday morning assembling furniture and making sure that everything was perfect. I would recommend this store with the knowledgeable and friendly staff to anyone. more

do not buy from here- extremely poor customer service 8/21/2006

I do not recommend buying from here. There was no follow-up on a damaged chair we received. I had to call many times to find out the status and the responsiveness of the owner and the manager was poor. more
