What A Joint 4/28/2006

This kind of joint/ hot dog stand is popular in Chicago. It does get crowded in summertime. I think that is because the hot dogs are good, they come with free fries as do all their sandwiches, they also sell soft ice cream and slushees. There is only room for maybe 3 or 4 people to eat inside if they want to stand. I always take it to go or in warm weather eat at one of their outdoor picnic tables. This place kinda reminds me of stands like these I have seen portrayed in movies from the 1950's. more

It ain't pretty, but it's cheap 3/17/2006

For some particular reason, this place creates quite the frenzy on the Northwest side. Even though it's small, you can't eat inside, and the staff can be abrasive, you can't beat the price. The dogs and fries are tasty, and they serve up these great Slurpee wannabee type drinks and other ice cream creations. The menu is pretty huge and they do have a drive thru. more
