The drinks were good, but then again aren't they almost always in most bars? The bartender was cocky and rude, insulting us for wanting a vegetarian pizza when we should be vegan...

Fun Place to Be 8/2/2009

Last August I experienced an unusual event at Tiny Bigs. My friends and I did not have the best service from a disgruntled bartender. Fortunately my husband forwarded my complaints to the owner, Keith. Keith was wonderful. He appreciated knowing about his employee who was not doing a good job. He invited our group back to show us what our evening should have been like. We had so much fun!!! The staff was very attentative, the food was delicious, and the drinks were, well, really fantastic. It was so nice to see this situation turn around, and I want to publically thank Keith for being the best host. He is a great guy, and runs a fun establishment. I will return again and again to enjoy Tiny Bigs!!! Pros: Great place Cons: None more

I Miss Tini's : ( 6/3/2009

One of the number one things I miss about Seattle is going to Tini Bigs......Best bartenders, best drinks, best mac and cheese, and best atmosphere. Definitely making the trip back out to Seattle to visit this place! : ) Pros: Best Bartenders in Town Cons: Nothing more

BIG QUALITY TINI's plus more 6/2/2009

I would like to comment on your recent review of Tini Bigs and highlight certain points that you are dearly misinformed. 1.) The bar is over a 100 years old, so if you can't see past some of the unreputable spots, I hate to see what kind of place you live in. 2.) Define Hideous! maybe it was because you were so caught up with the decor, your attitude was affected in some way. It's hard to argue with unreputable people like staff writers of Seattle Times and The Weekly that say the staff at Tini Bigs are warm, friendly and inviting. Maybe it was you, maybe it was an off night. 3.) Except for a few exceptions, Tini Bigs can make any popular drink for the most part, excluding Hypnotic and XRated based cocktails - maybe you should head over to Pioneer Square to get such a "CHEAP" deal. The Liquor that is used at Tini's is considered some of the best in the business, - quite possibly why you don't recognize them, they don't sell them at gas stations or on the bottom shelf at the liquor store. 4.) the Cocktail waitress never said that we can't make regular cocktails, the training and managment would never allow that, maybe you should remember what she actually said. IF you are going to belittle someone, maybe you should give it context - what did you ask for? Jello shots? 5.) It's in the name, Tini Bigs - Big Quality Martinis that use quality liquor, not to mention that they offer smaller sizes for the penny watching crowd. I guess the basis for this comment is that if you are going to analyze the bar to this degree, be specific about what you didn't like and not generalize the situation.. Lot's of people enjoy Tini's and the staff make their living by working at this establishment... if you are going to take food out of their mouths, be a little more conscious. Pros: Drinks, Staff, Ambiance Cons: parking more

Tini Bigs - not to be missed 6/2/2009

Tini Bigs is a wonderful establishment that will offer you relaxed ambiance, welcoming smiles from the moment you walk in, familiar faces, great food and martinis, and a knowledgeable staff that will go over and beyond to please you. If you're looking for a place to sit back and chill, I personally recommend early Sunday afternoons where you will find an awesome drink you cannot find anywhere else in one hand, a magazine in ther other, and joking with Seattle's best bartender, Ryan. All of this while listening to everything from Frank Sinatra to Marvin Gaye, wooing you to "just one more drink." If you prefer a more lively crowd with more of an up-beat atmosphere, just stick around..it only gets better. This place is very popular...and for a good reason. I truly consider Tini's my home away from home. more

Where to go when you want to get robbed by rude people 5/26/2009

We went to Tini Bigs under the advice of a waiter in Belltown (at Tavolata, I would not recommend them either). Frankly, this bar looks like a former unreputable establishment they coated in black paint in order to hide the disgusting spots on the floor. It was hideous, the waitstaff was hideous towards us and everyone else. They call themselves a martini bar but they can't actually make most of the martinis that the general public wants. All you can get is what is on their menu, and trust me, those drinks aren't worth the nine dollars you'd pay for them. They are disgusting and revolting quite frankly. I ended up getting some kind of a citrus drink that tasted like vodka and orange juice in a big martini glass that has pulp inside of it which was not exactly what I was looking for. The waitress was only happy when we paid her and it seemed to be a chore for her to even give us a minute to look over the menu after she told us that they didn't make regular, general martinis and any bar can typically make. It was so loud in the bar that we couldn't even hear anything, not to mention it was crowded and there was no air flow so get one smelly person in that bar and it's going to be an even worse night. I would not recommend this bar to anyone, it's a waste of your time, it's a waste of your money and in this day and age, you have to make sure you're going to get the most out of your dollar. And this is definitely not the place to do it. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else, you'll be thankful you did. Pros: Nothing Cons: Waitstaff, drinks, everything in general more

One of the few real lounges left 3/26/2009

I usually drop by once a month, usually to order a particular drink. Kevin, the bartender, has always made an effort to remember my name, make conversation, and ensure I actually like the drink. The attention is appreciated, and is more than you can find at most places in Seattle. Service can be slow at times, and food is decent but nothing great, but I don't really understand who someone would want to go to a drink lounge for food anyway. Pros: Good drinks, nice bartenders Cons: Older crowd, not always the most fun more

TINI BIGS TOOK OUR MONEY 2/15/2009

Do not waste your time at TiniBigs on 1st and Denny. Here are my reasons (and 5 others that have agreed ): 1. Waitress was nice, however throughout the night, we realized that even though we were the only ones in the bar, it took her FOREVER to do something. 2. Almost every drink we ordered... we were told they weren't able to make due to insufficient ingredients- why be a specialize martini bar, if you can't make the martini's you have on the menu!? 3. The drinks are at least $10 each... even a plain one is around $7, way over priced...plus, the drinks weren't strong. I could have put cranberry juice in a glass and not been able to tell a difference. 4. The waitress charged us a 20% gratuity without notifying us 5. The waitress actually said the words "you can give me additional tip on the next line" 8. After leaving, all six of our credit cards was charged 3 times for amounts that were at least $20 more than my actual tab amount- plus the waitress gave herself an additional tip. 9. After calling the manager the next day to complain, he said he would fix the amount, and 5 days later, the transactions went through...now we all have to call our banks and demand our money back from this bar. All we wanted was a fun night out....! *If you fee like going out for a good time with friends... do not go here. The drinks weren't worth it and the service is beyond horrible. They even give you the bonus of arguing with them the day after. I give them a -1 on a scale of 1-10. Pros: ambience, decor Cons: overcharge, slow, unable to make many drinks more

Overrated and rude bartender 12/7/2008

The drinks were good, but then again aren't they almost always in most bars? The bartender was cocky and rude, insulting us for wanting a vegetarian pizza when we should be vegan since cheese is so horrible, etc. (btw they didn't even offer a veggie pizza - all are pre-made). Food selection was tiny and not very good. Overall an overpriced and overrated bar - very disappointing. Pros: Drinks Cons: Bartender, lack of food variety, overpriced more

Best Cocktails I've had 7/25/2008

My service couldn't have been more comfortable, not too intrusive, and professional. We moved to the bar after awhile to watch the bartenders and overheard them talk about some of the spirits they use and why. Very knowledgeable staff from what I saw. Great selection of Martini's, very diversified to cater to various taste buds in our group. I'll always reccommend this bar when I have guests from out of town who want something besides a microbrew or cocktail loaded with bitters and vermouth and calling it classic. I prefer the progressive nature in how they approach making original cocktails, seems to be a lost art. Pros: Parking,Great happy hour,Jazz,Large selection of spirits more

Don't miss the Spa-Tini 5/30/2008

Excellent experience... Kevin (bartender) was one of the best I've ever had. Great drink menu. Make sure yoiu have Kevin make a couple of his original drinks. You won't be disappointed. more

Great location for after work drinks but not worth recommending to friends 4/14/2008

The food is okay and the mixed drinks taste watered down. The happy hour drink specials are limited. If you have a mid to large group i.e. happy hour with co-workers, the waitress insists on putting everyone's drink on one bill and leaving it up to you to split the charges and they don't tell you that they add a 20% tip to the bill. You may not notice that and give them a double tip for service that isn't outstanding. I've been there 3 times and I'm looking to go somewhere else after work because of the stagnant service. Pros: close to bus line and office Cons: lack of customer service more

Worst service imaginable. 4/5/2008

The bartender was an absolute douche. He was so cocky and "too good for the customers". I even saw one bar goer leave a note on a napkin stating: "the bartender s*cks!". He made his drinks pretty well, but I can do that at home. People go to bars not only for the drinks and presentation, but for the ambiance... and Tini Bigs did not cut it. I can seriously say that I will never go there again. Waste of money, waste of time, and what an embarrassment - my relatives (visiting from Japan) were appalled. Out of all of friendly Seattle bars, I had to represent Seattle with this one. If you like having fun, stay away from Tini Bigs. more

Overrated 3/28/2008

Checked out Tini's for happy hour. Felt almost like the server diverted eye contact every time we tried to get her attention. Ordered one of the $5 happy hour martinis that tasted like orange juice. I guess you get what you pay for. Then I wised up and ordered my favorite gin martini only to have one of the most expensive and mediocre martinis I've had in a while. No thanks.... more

Tasty martinis in a nice lounge 3/20/2007

Martinis, martinis, martinis... 11/19/2006

They have a very extensive martini list and some great and original drinks that can leave you browsing through the drink menu for quite some time. It can get pretty packed and can take a while to get a drink at times. Drinks can seem a bit pricey. It's a great place to just stop in for a few cocktails, but it gets really noisy and packed at times. Pros: Great drink selection, typically a good crowd, Cons: Parking is an issue, small spot gets really crowded, pricey for some, more

Great cocktails & bar food 11/4/2006

So many martinis it takes 10minutes to choose!! - the bar food is great.... Great casual atmosphere too. Pros: great choice of martinis Cons: usually have sports on tv more

nice selection of unique martinis and friendly bartenders 10/11/2006

they're signature cocktail list is very impressive and there are some good ones, although they trend a little too heavy on infused vodkas. most of their infused vodkas are too cloying and unbalanced for my tastes. my style tends toward classic cocktail places like the zig zag so take my 'cons' (in regards to their cocktails) with a grain of salt. their bartenders are as friendly as they get. on the negative side, when i've been there their bathrooms were lit with colored bulbs making me feel as if i were washing my hands in a dirty alley. and their bar food is rather pedestrian and sports-barish. overall though, for what it is, tini bigs is a great place to have a drink or two and a fine stop on a bar-hopping night. Pros: friendly staff, creative cocktails Cons: uninspired food, terrible idea having colored bulbs in bathrooms more

GREAT PEOPLE! 9/23/2006

I find that the people of a bar are what really make it great and I've found Tini Big's staff and patrons to be top notch! I took some friends from out of town to my posh watering hole and they were so impressed by the bartenders who were knowledgable of everything about this great city and the shelves of alcohol displayed in the bar. Waitresses were friendly and obviously enjoying themselves, dancing about as they amazingly balanced huge martini glasses around the packed bar. I highly recommend Tini Big's to anyone looking for a great drinks and good people! Pros: Service, parking, new food menu Cons: Get's packed after concerts more

Best Martini in Town 1/12/2006

I've been to Tini Big's a few times and every time I go I find something else I love. The bar has a New York feel to it and the atmosphere is phenomenal! Everyone is always courteous and there to have a good time! The bartenders make outstanding drinks and there usually isn't trouble snagging a table. I highly recommend going any time! Pros: Great drinks, Friendly Staff, Fun atmosphere Cons: Crowded at times more

  • In Short
Dim pink lights above the antique bar gently glow against the black walls, upholstered booths and varnished tables. Many variations of martinis, ranging from the elegant to the bizarre, await the see-and-be-seen crowd. Stylish drinkers love the tasty 10-ounce martinis, such as the Jasmine Tini and the Dirty Girl Scout (with hazelnut espresso vodka). For a strong boost, try the manly John Wayne Manhattan: Bulliet Frontier whiskey and Di Sorrano amaretto muddled with oranges.
