Whats funny Anna, is people spend so much time bashing other people. If you don't like it... leave. That sounds pretty logical to me. You must have nothing better in your life to do if you are investing so much time complaining, checking back in to leave more reviews, making sure more people complain. Give it up already. We get it! You had a bad experience...move on. Just don't go back to that business.. it's pretty simple. Businesses don't want people like you and MR. ""BEWARE"" in their stores anyway. It's a hassle, your never happy, always a pain to deal with and I'm sure you typically have problems at many other places. Find some happiness and get some hobbies. more

I take all my cars to Tidwells. By all my cars I mean me and my family's..this is four different cars, and with this many cars there is always something wrong. but lucky for me I've found a place that I can always rely on. I've had many different experiences here and sometimes it takes a little longer than you would like, but thats business right! Every problem is different and it can't always be a quick fix. I took my car to Tidwells to get some a/c work done. I left it over night and told them I needed it at the latest noon the next day! The next day I get a phone call form them at 9:45 letting me know my car was ready. I went to go pick it up and everyone was very helpful in explaning what exactily was done to my car. They are honset people that actually still deserve the SERVICE name and not just a repair center. They send postcards and emails out for % off labor. Go check them out they are behind the firestone on Parker and Independence. One happy customer!!!! more

wow..this review thing is pretty cool! Idk what all these people are talking about Tidwells being agressive and what not. I've taken my cars there quite a few times and I've seen how Mr. Tidwell deals with customers. He can be defensive, but the people I've seen him have trouble with are raising hell and yelling and acting a fool..i'd say a few things back too! Pros: being decent gets you everywhere here!!!! i love it! Cons: tricky to find but worth it more

I would be lying if I said I didn?t have trouble finding the shop. A close friend of mine recommended me to Tidwell Auto Service because I was new to the area and was in search of a new mechanic. I had been taking my truck to Firestone for years and always wondering if they were getting the better of me. I don?t know a great deal about cars, but I just never seemed to get an honest vibe from Firestone. My parents had used them for years so it just fit. Now after using Tidwell Auto Service the light has been shown. I was greeted with an enthusiastic smile from a woman at the counter. I explained that I was in need of a new clutch and she had the shop owner come out and talk to me directly. I felt very important which was something new when it came to car repairs. After discussing the cost of repair I dropped off my truck. The very next day I was told the truck would be ready by closing and sure enough the repairs had been made. I was actually shocked at how quickly the work was done more

I haven't been to Tidwell's a million times, luckily my car doesn't break down that much :) I know that they are a Christian run company and I do appriciate the honest and integrity I receive there. I have been in the waiting room when the owner has had problems with some customers, and he is very understanding and polite at first but if someone curses at him or tries to take advantage of him, he does defend his staff and business, which is more than respectable. I expect nothing less. I have always been polite to the owner and staff and they have always worked with me in any situation 100% I would take my car there anytime! Pros: Approachable and confident staff Cons: could be slightly cleaner..but it is an auto shop :) more

I have been taking my car to Tidwell's for many years. I've never had any problems with any of the work they have done and if I ever had any questions, they were always very willing to help. Most shops try to take advantage of women and their lack of knowledge about cars but I have never felt like this was the case here. I have recommended this shop to everyone I know and will continue to do so. more

I have been going to Tidwell's for years with several differents vehicles. I cant say enough about their honesty and genuine caring for me and my needs for my car. They are always honest and upfront with me and never try to sell me things i dont need. Many times when I just need something checked out they don't even charge me. In a bind on weekends I have tried other places only to find myself waiting to get back to Tidwell's on Monday. Wonderful people and great mechanics. I recommend them highly. Pros: JUST GREAT PEOPLE. I was in Plano visiting and brought my car to this shop for repairs. I picked the car up from the shop, and the next day began my drive home. Within 15 minutes I noticed that the care was worse than before. It was a holiday and I was heading home, so I decided to take it limp it home to my local dealership. I explained to the local dealership what work Tidwell's had done. He said the same work would be about $250 cheaper if the they had done it. He also explained what the problem was that Tidwell's completely missed! A simple $10 part with about $150 in labor. Tidwells's opted with the more expensive guess with a priced tag of over $700. Pros: Appears to be a nice shop Cons: The appearance is a sham! The owner is angry and defensive. more

Their work may be good but I feel I was overcharged for a water pump and belt replacement. They charged me a labor fee for replacing the belt even though the belt had to come off to replace the water pump. more

I have been going to Tidwell Auto Service for over 10 years with no problems at all. The staff is always understanding and helpful. Tidwell's has taken great care of my car both in simple services and major repairs. Their prices are always reasonable, fair and competitive. They send me several very good specials during each year that I try to take advantage of. They are honest, fair, Christian people who i would recommend to anyone. They have been in business for about 30 years or so. Lots of expereince. They tell you what your car needs and never push other work on your. They are a bright star in the dark world of auto repair. Pros: 30 years in business, certified technicians, very friendly customer service. Cons: Hidden behind a Firestone store. more

We had used Tidwell for years on a number of cars and been fairly happy but our recent experience with a 95 VW Cabrio was a very bad and expensive one and we won't be using them again. My car was in their shop for over 3 weeks and one hard to find part was replaced twice within those 3 weeks because there were problems with the first one. When I called back because I had not received timely follow up phone calls, I was told to 'be patient'. It was hinted that my main problem was my car selection and if I had a GM or Ford I would have had a better experience. It ended up costing me more than I expected, and I was forced to pay in cash, and did not recieve my used parts back which didn't give me any more confidence in the quality of my repairs. The staff at Tidwell Auto Service is just wonderful. Christian people with a Christian attitude to help you with your car problems. Technicians with certification and knowledge. The sign by the door says "Thanks for 29 year."\r That has to mean they do something right. My car was repaired quickly and for the price I was quoted. I believe I have finally found an honest repair shop that really cares about customers. PROS: Friendly people who care and who are honest. CONS: A little hard to find in the back of the shopping center. more

Tidwell Auto Service is conveniently located on Independence and Parker Rd in Plano. If you give them your email address, they will send you coupons to use for your next servicing. The quality of service and work is great. I asked to speak to one of the mechanics because I needed to ask him what exactly he did to the car. He was not only polite but very qualified and I would definately go back to get my car serviced by them because of their quality of service and workmanship. PROS: Quality of Service and Workmanship CONS: Call in early to make an appointment - otherwise you may have to wait long! more
