I wanted to love the place. Oh how I wanted to love it. I tried so hard, giving this place so many second chances, but at the end of the day, it came up short. Really great lay...

The place was packed with cuties 8/8/2011

The moment i walked in here i felt like i was back in college, beer pong going on, pitchers of beer and frat guys everywhere. The place was packed with cuties and i would say the ratio was pretty good. The bartenders serve fast which i liked, got a round of shots for the guys. Upstairs they have beer pong tables and it has a big following. more

The service was always nice 7/7/2011

During the year (2008, so ya this review is long overdue) I was interning in LA for a small production company I would frequent Happy Ending at least 2 times a week for lunch. It didn't hurt that it was literally across the street from our offices! I was introduced by two other interns that had been there a few months before me and I was pleasantly surprised by the food. At first glance you see a bar but when you read the menu you are greeted by filet mignon sliders, truffle herb fries, beet and goat cheese salad and a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup combo that will bring a big smile to any nostalgic American that ate them as a kid. The service was always nice and never failed to give me a good laugh with their great humor. Another cool thing, you can play trivia games on the little touch screens on each booth, while you wait for your food. Other than that, they have wheel of fortune which is put into use at night (Tuesdays?), a lobster aquarium, and if you're feeling adventuress you can order yourself a nice refreshing FISH BOWL of your favorite libation. Yes it's an actual fish bowl. I haven't visited for about two years now, hope it hasn't changed too much. I haven't heard many great things about the nightlife there and the, uh, "bouncer situation" from a few of my guy friends. LOL Nevertheless the 4 stars is for the great lunch-time memories. =) more

You can eat you can drink and you can dance 6/20/2011

I am not a party animal. But I love Happy Ending. You can eat you can drink and you can dance. I like the layout of the place and I really enjoy the music. I like the kind of people that go there and you can always spot some actors so yes it's my kind of place. more

Good times. 6/15/2011

I'm a local and have been to this place many times. Free UFC fights (GSP showed up a few months ago), Lakers games, NCAA Football, etc. There is no cover to enter and the venue is nice with a lot of TV's and projectors and also has a 2nd floor. During the day and early evening, the place has a killer menu. Mostly bar food, but everything is good. The pizza, the filet sliders, the burgers, you name it. They also have a cool wheel on the wall which they allow girls to spin. Once it lands on a drink special, that special will be good until the next girl spins. The bar staff is usually friendly and will even let the girl have a freebie if she can land on the special she wants. Why usually friendly? I came here once and a few of the bartenders were from the New England area. They seemed to care more about the BoSox-Yankees game than serving patrons waiting for drinks. Happy Ending also serves free popcorn! At night, the music is usually good and the place will get packed on weekends around midnight and stay full till 2 am. The crowd is a pretty eclectic mix, but that's what you're going to get in Hollywood. I've also come here when they've had beer pong set up as well as a night when a band played covers of songs while participants could come up on stage and sing along. I guess it's like live karaoke. Good times. more

the best of both world 6/14/2011

If a sports bar and a college bar would have a baby, and that baby crawled onto sunset than this is it. Are there better sports bars out there? Yes... Are there better college bars out there?? yes. But only here can you receive the best of both world in the heart of hollywood. The bars decent size, theres no cover charge and sports are running all day. This isnt a club, if you looking to freak all night long then this isnt your place. However if your looking to drown your sorrows with some friends and be one of the handful of randoms stumbling out of this bar at 2 in the morning, come here. As a guy, im always on my best game here. Cause you never know with happy endings. They have good nights and bad nights, but regardless you will have a selection of chicks to mingle with. more

you'll be happy 6/13/2011

After leaving the Hawaiian BBQ we ran out in the rain splashing in puddles and dodging cars in the parking lot to drive over to Happy Ending. Since it was right behind the place we had just been at we'd figure it would be a cinch to park and what not. It wasn't, there was valet here so rather than try to circle the block and avoid rush hour traffic we just valet'd. It was like 3.50 (remember this). We go inside and it's a New York style bar, with TV's at every booth.. I mean literally tv's over my head and gf's head and so on and so forth at every booth.. nice! My team the Knick's were on the tube but lost to the Cav's. Fans were cheering. We checked out the menu and I tried the Mahi Mahi fish tacos. This was a bad idea as I'm so used to the killer Mahi's at South Beach in OB that these didn't fare well in comparison. GF got the chicken spring rolls and I traded some of my tacos for her spring rolls. I drank a couple of Racer 5's and she had a bud light. The atmosphere is more enjoyable than the food is and I can see some good drinking time being done here. They had a spin the wheel game for drink specials... plenty of space for many guests, lots of TV's for sports, and Johnny on the spot servers. I do recommend this place for drinks after work or as a starter for a crawl along the strip...... in the end... you'll be happy, except when we got outside and the valet price had gone up to 4.75. Another couple apparently was familiar with their shenanigans as they joked about it as they arrived. I said document the current price as when you get out it's gonna be different, laughed and sped off to sweet home San Diego. more

Love this place 6/1/2011

Without a doubt the best sports bar in Los Angeles! Any sporting event you wish to see, more than likely they have it...and NEVER charge a cover. When I came in here the first time I automatically felt like this was my neighborhood bar. The bar staff were more than friendly and made me feel like I'd been going there for years. As I sat and watched the game, I noticed some of the appetizers and entrees coming out and realized..."this doesn't look like bar food." Because it's not! Their menu is amazing and full of unique items made of fresh and quality ingredients. Let's face the facts, Los Angeles is NOT know for their pizza but OMG this pizza was OUTSTANDING. I got the "Mangia Mangia Pie" and it was completely New York style amazing. One thing that sets this bar apart from the others is the drink wheel. If you chat up the bartender he might let you get a spin! Someone gets to spin the wheel and whatever it lands on is the drink special for the next 15 minutes. The specials range from $5 Jameson shots to $2.50 PBR cans. Love this place, check it out! more

I had a blast! 5/27/2011

I had my birthday party here and I had a blast! The servers were very helpful and they even had balloons set up for my party! They have tons of space so our party of 15 could be seated comfortably for dinner. I hadn't eaten here before so I didn't really know what to expect but they have a huge menu with lots of options. It was a Wednesday night so after dinner we got to sing karaoke but it was fun because there was a live band that played with you while you sang! Everyone had a great time, definitely a "Happy Ending." more

I work next door 5/25/2011

I work next door and pop over for lunch regularly. The prices are good and the portions more than reasonable. more

The best! 5/24/2011

Best sports bar in Hollywood that turns into a club upstairs after 11ish at night on the weekends. Alot of people still don't know about this place, which makes it great. Idk what it is about the women that go here, but they completely let there gaurds down here. GREAT place to meet women. Beer pong tables, pool, and alcohol spin wheel. Upstairs dance area is kinda ghetto, needs alot of improvements. Outside rail area is for smokers and people trying to mingle. Good spot to start your night... more

Love this place 5/20/2011

Love this place. I just had my birthday party there this weekend. I only wish the bathrooms were working and a little cleaner. Also, I would rename this place "Regretful Endings," since I was given shots all night and woke up with the worst hangover in life. But i'll definitely go back, and probably sooner, rather than later. more

Way too cool! 5/19/2011

This place was way too cool! The beer pong tables are a nice touch AND they had live karaoke! Decided to go randomly on a Wednesday night and was pleasantly surprised by how chill the crowd was. I came alone since I was waiting for some people but since the place was completely unpretentious I was able to make strangers into friends super easily. I was even able to finagle a guy into singing "Blister in the Sun" with me, ahh too fun! I'm not sure why everyone is saying the service sucks; that was not my experience at all. All in all a super cool place and I'll be returning @ some point. more

I like it 5/17/2011

This bar is reminiscent of frat parties, and I can honestly say that that is why I like it so much! The drinks are strong and reasonably priced, and its just a great place to have fun. Also, while it is Hollywood, I never had any issues with parking on side the few times that I drove. more

Friendly and helpful 5/16/2011

Had a double birthday party here last night with my friend Sam. I called ahead to make sure they could house about forty people. Their reservation specialist (Lauren) was friendly and helpful. She gave me her cell number and emailed me to answer questions. She even allowed me to bring in outside packaged red velvet cupcakes because they didn't have any. That's super nice of them! Pizza and a Pitcher are only $14.99 on Tuesday night. The bartender Jared was very nice. He even did a birthday shot with me. Their penne ala vodka was mediocre but tasted great after a few drinks. I laughed, cried several times, wandered off, and then laughed again. This place is big and empty on a Tuesday night which made it very enjoyable. Overall, it was a complete birthday in Hollywood without the whole wait-in-line, look-like-a-hoochie, get-drinks-spilled-on-you, typical hollywood scene. more
