Home hair color ""oops"" 6/19/2011

The brown color on the box turned out black on my hair. Not good. So not good in fact, that even my husband was hard put to compliment it and he is always the most gracious person. Shanna had such good reviews on CitySearch that I asked her if she could help me out. She worked her magic and now I am the dark chocolate brown that I want. If it's hair and it's broke, Shanna can fix it. more

nice cut, great highlights 5/4/2011

I love my new short spring haircut from Shanna. She cut it as short as I asked, which I really appreciated. And I LOVE the blond highlights she gave me! They look very natural. She used two tones of blond and they are perfect and really lighten up my look. Definitely recommend a visit to Shanna. more

SO GOOD! 3/18/2011

Yesterday, I took a break from work and stopped by Lush Life Salon and talked to Shanna about chopping off my hair. She sent me off with a few magazines and I came back with a picture of a cute short style. Shanna nailed the hair cut! The cut looks great and is exactly what I wanted. The salon is super cute and I will definately be going back to her again and again and again! more

Wavy/Curly Hair Master! 2/21/2011

When it was time to find a new hair stylist, I went searching on the internet. I read Shanna?s reviews & I was hopeful that maybe this time I would find a person who could see spirit over age. Shanna has been highlighting & cutting my hair now for about 8 or 9 months. The cut is great & I love the color. Each visit, I have a tweak here or there and she always addresses whatever my request is and finds a solution to incorporate into my cut or color and lifestyle. (FYI - my hair is thick with wavy/natural curl & I?m 50+) I can leave Shanna?s Salon and feel good about how I look when I walk out the door. That?s something I haven?t been able to say in years. Highly recommend Shanna in every way! more

Total confidence 2/6/2011

Simply the best haircut I have ever gotten! When I left, I was smiling and after I washed and styled my own hair at home (which means I have wavy hair that I don't do much with) it laid so well on it's own that I wanted to drive all the way back to Shanna and hug her. Shanna's confidence made me totally comfortable and she really listens to what you want, and does exactly what was decided on. I am so relieved to have found someone to stick with! Shanna is great and really knows how to cut curly hair. Always had to fight with my short curly hair -- now it looks great even if i let it air dry! I'm very new to Lush Life but think i found a home! more

Will ALWAYS recommend 1/21/2011

I have been to Shanna many times for color and cut. I am normally hesistant to recommend anything to anyone for fear they will have a bad experience with something that I recommended. Not this time! I have no fear recommending Shanna! She is the only hair stylist (and I have been to MANY) that has made me happy EVERY time I go. She does amazing color and her cuts get me compliments ALL the time. I just went short again for the first time in years and Shanna gave me such a fantastic cut, that 2 people in my office cut their after seeing mine! She listens, she has great products and perceptions, and knows how to make a client happy. Go see her, you won't be disappointed. more

BEST HAIRCUT EVER 1/20/2011

I'M NOT SOMEONE WHO LIKES TO FIDDLE WITH HAIR BUT I DO LIKE TO LOOK GOOD WITHOUT MUCH TO DO IN THE MORNINGS. SO SHANNA'S CUT IS FLATTERING WITH VERY LITTLE EFFORT FOR ME. PEOPLE KEEP ASKING IF I'VE LOST WEIGHT, CAN'T QUITE FIGURE OUT WHAT I'VE CHANGED. AND THE BEST PART IS, SHE HAS BEEN COLORING MY HAIR AND MY MOTHER CAN'T TELL. I TRUST AND LOVE HER! more

The BEST Stylist for Curly Headed Girls 1/17/2011

Shanna has been cutting my hair for about 3 years now and she is absolutely fabulous with curly hair. My curls are always bouncy and healthy. She truly knows how to properly cut curly hair and that is a rarity. Another thing I love about Shanna, she is dead honest. She will tell you what is and isn't possible with your hair and then will come up with alternatives to that ""picture out of magazine"" you brought in that she knows is never going to work with your head of hair. And you will love the alternatives. She is awesome. more

When I first came to Shanna, I had shoulder length hair with blond highlights, but wasn't really happy with the sharpness of it. She gave me the most beautiful, soft dark blond! I loved it. more

The Absolute BEST!!! 5/19/2010

I went to Shanna because I was tried of trying to grow out my hair. She put in the most beautiful extensions. They look very natural and real. I was very concerned that I would look fake or un-natural. This is so not true. Shanna matched my hair color and my hair style exactly. The extensions look fabulous. The best part of all, no joke, I now get carded when I go out......so the extension seem to have an anti-aging factor. Pros: Professional, Skilled, Best Cons: Could not find any and I tried more

hair extensions 5/18/2010

I got hair extensions and color done about a week ago with Shanna. I have only been to a salon ONCE in my entire life, and I was really nervous about going and especially about hair extensions. The consultation was great, and it helped me feel better about my decision to get hair extensions. I only had about a week left in town before I went back home for the summer and Shanna was so great about finding a time to fit me in!! She ended up coming in at SEVEN am on a saturday morning just to do my hair! She colored my hair to match the hair extensions EXACTLY. So far, no one has even noticed that I have hair extensions! They just think my hair grew really fast and became way more healthy! ;) But I do let everyone know I have hair extensions because they look so great, I am definitely not ashamed! I think I may actually go to salons from now on instead of having my mom cut my hair.... :) PS---Shanna is SUPER fast! I got my hair colored, hair extensions, and styled all in about three hours! Pros: wonderful, fast!! more

I visited Shanna for a cut and color for the first time yesterday. What an awesome experience! Shanna is very talented - my cut and color look great! I have wavy/curly hair, and have found that not all stylists are versed in working with curly hair. But Shanna is definitely an expert at cutting and styling curly hair. My hair looks great! In addition, Shanna is very professional and friendly. She made me feel right at home like I had been going to her for years. Overall, it was an awesome experience, and I will be back! Honest and Helpful 2/19/2010

I recently moved to Austin from Ohio with bleaching gone wrong. I researched color specialists in his area and kept seeing Shanna's name. I was hesitant to try something else with my hair color but knew something needed to be done. Shanna was honest about the condition of my hair and what it could tolerate. She asked me everything from the heat setting I use on my hairdryer and straighter to the types of shampoo I use. She now has me on the right track to getting my blonde hair back the healthy way!! Was very impressed and look forward to my next visit! more

Shanna is fabulous!! I've been visiting Lush Life Salon & Boutique since September 2009. I'm so happy to have found this place here in Austin. Shanna does a wonderful job on cuts, color and extensions. I recently just started wearing extensions and I love them! If you want long beautiful hair, she's the person to see here in Austin. I went to see Shanna today and the only thing that I regret is that I didn't take before and after pics. She gave me the best cut I ever had! Ever! I have curly hair and I feel like being a hair dresser doesn't necessarily make you a curly-hair-dresser you have to be born with it, I don't know! Shanna is the best.
