I had been searching for a new stylist after moving to town and trying several including Anne Kelso, Avante, and Urban Betty. I found the reviews for Shanna on here and decided to give her a try! Glad I did. She has a great eye for color and also gives great haricuts. The first time she saw me she said I should go brownish-red (I was almost full blonde) and I was a bit apprehensive. I finally gave in a month ago, and the results were beautiful! I got so many compliments and I'm sticking with this new color for a good while! more

GREAT HAIRCUT 10/15/2009

I went to Shanna for the first time yesterday and it was perfect. I got bangs for the first time since I was about 8 and went in not sure how the bangs would look, but came out ecstatic!!!! She was very honest and straightforward about what she was doing and also other ways you could achieve the same look at home. I am very picky about my hair and I have been with the same hairdresser since I was about 7, but she is in Lubbock and well I have successfully found my Austin professional!!!!!! Pros: everything from the cut to the overall feel of the salon more

Honest and GREAT Color 9/30/2009

Shanna is great with color, she's done mine twice now, once for a challenging strawberry blonde color and another for a reddish brunette. Both times, Shanna was honest about what was possible and what would work and did not disappoint with her color formulas. Shanna is friendly and professional and I plan to continue going to her.... which is a compliment, I tend to be quite picky with hair color and stylists! Pros: Very honest about what's possible and what isn't. more

SHANNA IS A CURLY GIRL'S BEST FRIEND! 9/26/2009

I have had two great hair stylists in the past. They are few are far between...it has been 15 years since my hair has looked like I wanted. Shanna did wonders for my hair cut, textue and color. My hair was curly, fine, dry, and over colored when I saw Shanna for the first time last week. My only request was a natural color and hair that wasn't frizzy. She's great for curly hair 9/18/2009

Went to Shanna today for the first time. I have very curly hair that has become dry and thinner in the past few years. I was afraid to cut it shorter because it might just frizz. Shanna listened to my concerns, looked at the photos I brought with me of possible cuts, gave me her opinion and then gave me a great cut. It is hard to find someone who can cut curly hair well, I recommend her highly! more

My Complete Trust!! 8/18/2009

I've gone to Shanna for cuts only since I found her. We talked about color on one of my visits to her. I expressed the nervousness of it, being that I haven't colored my hair in 6yrs! I let her know what I liked, she let me know what look I could pull off. Needless to say I love it! Not a drastic change, something simple, but enough to see a difference. I LOVE IT SHANNA!!! I will definately keep it up and not only does she have my full trust (cut & color) but after seeing my color my sister now is trusting that I found the perfect sytlist :)!! She will be calling you soon for a hair appt herself ;) Pros: She Can Do Everything w/Perfection!! Cons: None!! more

Awesome lady with incredible talent 8/18/2009

Shanna is very professional and makes you feel very comfortable. I went to Shanna after having my hair burned off after being backdrafted by a fireplace. It took me about six months to finally go to a professional, and she made me feel very comfortable. We had a consultation and she got me in the beginning of the following week to apply the extensions. SHe had chosen the perfect colors to match my hair, was very pleasant and professional, and put in my new extensions in just a little over an hour. I love my new hair! I was able to get out of the shower and only blowdry my hair, scrunching it, and had to do little else. It looks and feels wonderful and was well worth the expense. I will go back when needed and have them put back back in. Pros: Best experience in getting hair extensions Cons: Couldn't give you one. more

My new color guru 7/2/2009

You only try a new hairdresser when you are unhappy with the one you went to last and that has been the case with my poor hair. You would think that people who DO alter other people's haircolor would be fairly adept at finding a color that remotely makes their client look and feel good, but this must not always be the case. With my unhappily & oddly darkened chopped-up scary hair, I knew I had to try again and so I looked for places near my office. Hair therapy? That sounded promising so I called and left a message. The desperation in my voice must have been evident, because she called right back said she would squeeze me in. I walked into her little place and immediately felt great vibes. With my extremely fine hair the cut is just as important as the color and Shanna's color & cut are perfect, correcting months of hacked up tresses. She knows what she is doing. Period. She is moving soon to a new location, so I guess that means a little further for me to drive but I am signing on for repeats and have zero regrets. Shanna had just finished hair extensions on another client when I came for my second visit. She told me after they left or I would NEVER have known! Kinda made me think--- hmmmm maybe I need long hair! I will ask my hair therapist at my next visit & Shanna will know what's right. I almost didn't want to write this because I don't want to have problems getting the appointment times I want, but since has she pre-booked me-- I think I will share. GO! SEE HER! NOW! Pros: Listens! I was pleased to find that she was very professional. When I told her I was ready for a change, she recommended a type of cut that suited my hair type. I felt very comfortable with her style and technique. She also gave good advice about how I could use some her styling techniques at home. I am very happy with the results. more

What I've been waiting for! 4/28/2009

I have been all over the place since moving to college looking for ""that special hair experience""... and most of them ended in disappointment! Shanna offers advice on what to do, makes you feel comfortable, but most importantly she LISTENS to what YOU want. I haven't made any big changes in a long time but I think the next I go... Yup, she's all that and a bag `o chips 4/10/2009

My partner got her 3c curls cut off by Shanna about a month ago (from shoulder length to boy-short adorable!). After seeing how well Shanna listened and manifested what she'd requested, I was actually *excited* to go put my butt in her chair! I've been growing my 3b curls out since we moved to Austin three years ago. I've only had it trimmed about 4 times and the shape was now ""off"". I'm also a ""curly girl"" with scalp issues, and don't subject my hair/scalp to sulfate shampoo. Shanna didn't blink an eye at my request for conditioner only. She cut my hair back into shape, made me feel completely at ease, and in the end I was thrilled to give her my money. There aren't many things I *happily* pay for, but her services are now on that short list! THANK YOU, SHANNA! We're so grateful we found you... Shanna is THE BEST 3/31/2009

I have been going to see Shanna for about 2 years now and made my first appt. based on good reviews on this site. I am so happy I trusted what other clients said about Shanna. She is awesome. I get color that has many different dimensions and looks very natural. I get a lot of compliments on my hair and that feels great! I first started going to see Shanna when she was located a little more central. Now that she is a little farther north, it is still WELL worth the drive for this far south austinite. Shanna is fun and makes you feel like a friend from the first time you step into her room. She listens to what you want and has the vision and ""know how"" to give you GREAT results. more

Shanna is a GREAT HAIRDRESSER 3/27/2009

Shanna is FANTASTIC! She is one of the best hairdressers I have been to. Shanna actually listens to her clients to hear what they want. When styling your hair she tells you what she is doing and what to do to get the best results when you are trying to do it yourself. I have never been to a hairdresser who tells you what she is doing. Shanna is very down to earth and the experience was very enjoyable. I highly recommend Shanna as your hairdresser! I've been seeing Shanna for several years. She has always done a great job on my color. I once decided to try going 'darker' and then found I didn't like it. Shanna worked me into her schedule fast, and ensured I was happy with the redo. She's also done a fantastic job on the cuts - gives shape to my rather difficult hair. She's big on customer service! What can I say about Shanna and my first visit. It was wonderful, Shanna is very friendly and puts you at ease right away. Most Importantly She LISTENS to what YOU want! Shanna Hair Therapy - Hair Genius! 3/5/2009

I moved to Austin five years ago from Houston where I had the same stylist for years. I literally have spent these five years being ""ruined"" trying to find SOMEONE who could do my blonde hi-lights. All I ever got was over-processed, striped, dry, very damaged hair. By a stroke of luck, or should I say pure fate, I finally found Shanna. Shanna knew immediately what to do to ""fix"" my hair and give me exactly what I was looking for. She gave me beautiful, natural, multi-tonal blonde hair. Listened to everything I wanted for my hair 3/4/2009

Shanna heard everything I said I wanted in my haircut and highlights. We had great real conversation and I felt comfortable with her immediately because of her straight forwardness and honesty. Shanna turns you into a Diva in 4 hours!!! 2/28/2009

The beautiful Shanna took my dry blond hair (complimented with dark brown roots) and made me fit the look of a Diva! As soon as she saw me Shanna said you will make a beautiful burnette and that is exactly what she did i have been breaking necks ever since she took her skills and showed me she is worth every penny and more!! I wish i would have had hair extensions years ago...to walk out of the house with a salon hair do everyday and all of maybe 5 minutes fixing it OMG she is my Hair Goddess!
