Best

good and quick delivery

Worst

Though the mango passion fruit freeze was amazingly tasty, it was about the only positive I have to offer about the restaurant. The ambience was lacking -- seemed like a fast food...

Only Thai open late night near me. If you've had some drinks, it will fit the bill. Nothing spectacular. Delivery was timely. more

Only thing stopping this from 5 stars was the spring roll was nasty. I will order from here again and again, Chicken Pad Se Eu was delicious. more

Still in love with the crispy cashew nut and the panang curry, but the crispy sweet and sour was totally bland, waste of money more

Horrible 6/20/2007

From the service to the ambience, nothing seems to be right at Satay. There seems to be no exhaust system in the restaurant and whenever something spicy is cooking in the open kitchen, you will smell it, cough it, and wear it (as it seeps into your clothing) for the rest of the day. The air conditioner doesn't work either. In addition, service is poor, sloppy and unhelpful at best, some people might use the word rude. Most importantly, they got my order wrong and didn't even think that was an issue to address. Every time the train goes by, your conversation will be drowned out by el noise. Avoid this place!! It is awful and more expensive to similar places with better service! Like another reviewer said, how does this place stay open? Pros: Beats me Cons: Rude wait staff, they bring out dishes different than what you ordered, your potstickers will still be frozen when they get to the table! more

Terrific Food at a great price 3/23/2007

I endorse Satay. They have great food at an even better price. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I go there at least once every couple of weeks. Pros: food fresh prep work more

Horrible customer service! There are much better Thai restaurants in Chicago. 10/13/2006

Do NOT order from Satay. We planned a relaxing night in, with takeout and a DVD. What we got was a huge hassle. Satay has problems delivering the right orders. It happened once before but we gave them another chance and now regret it. We tried to eat the entree, but it was terrible. We asked the manager to send us the right entree or give us a refund. Two hours later, no order. I called back and asked for a refund not the credit they offered (time to cut our losses). She said we would get us the right order and a refund. When the driver showed up (three hours after the original order was placed), he refused to give us a refund and accused us of not giving him enough money. I know we paid him and gave a good tip. I called the owner at his other restaurant (Tie me up noodles) and was told the driver would drop off the refund for the one entree (shorted me on the tax, by the way) after he finished delivering all the other orders. How do these businesses stay open? more

Eh....largely overrated 3/17/2006

Though the mango passion fruit freeze was amazingly tasty, it was about the only positive I have to offer about the restaurant. The ambience was lacking -- seemed like a fast food eatery more than a clean dining venue. The service was sub-par -- I was holding on the phone for 5 minutes before hanging up and calling again, simply to be put on hold. The food was definitely below expectation -- the Pad See Ew was so bland, I may as well have gone for American. I packed up the leftovers to offer a homeless guy in the area, but am sure even he was disappointed! Pros: Fruit Freezes Cons: Service, Food, Ambiance more

Great Food! 7/13/2003

I went to Satay after a recommendation from a friend and it was well worth it! This place has the whole package- from good food to good ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant and will go back again and often! Pros: Food, Service, Ambiance more

Simply the best! 3/7/2003

I am in *love* with this place. The food was so fresh, colorful and tasty. The service was so warm and the decor was so hip and fun. It is what a dining expereince should be about. Global Cuisine for everyone. Try this place, you will want to take all your friends! Pros: BYOB, UNIQUE, TASTY more
