Best

This salon has recently moved, and is now located in a quiet, cozy, boutique style atmosphere at Orenco Station in Hillsboro. As the overhead of the previous larger location has ...

Worst

These people do great hair and hair color, but they push their super expensive products too much. The amount they charge for their services is too high as well. Pros: Good ski...

Thank you! 3/3/2004

Finally, I have found a salon that carries not only Phyto products, but their haircolor as well! Going into Portland and searching for high quality, natural hair products was always an inconvienence, but now I can hop the Max a few stops and get a glass of wine, a great cut and color, and wonderful products. Thank you! Pros: Easy to get to, High Quailty Products more

Terrible 3/1/2004

My haircut I recieved from Fratangelos was horrible and took FOREVER to grow out. It was honestly the worst haircut I have ever had. I have no idea how citysearch figures that they are even worth mentioning... there are so many negative reviews! What is going on?? Also, they push their product like crazy, and it isn't very good for being like $25 per bottle. I would never reccommend this place to ANYONE that I actually liked. Cons: , Pushy pushy pushy more

bomber 2/7/2004

This place is a joke, $65. for a haircut in Hillsboro? Oh my god, what gives? The owner is "big Texas" and made my hair look it too, even though I went in with "small" hair. It sure would be nice to find a hairdresser that will actually listen. more

Stay Away 2/7/2004

Overall, This place is nothing more than pushy sales people who's talent is mediocre at best. 1st visit,I liked my color but not my cut, it was styled BIG, even after I explained I hated it Then the sales pressure started..I was told to make my color stay I had to buy the products, it's the pushiest of any salon I have EVER been to. 2nd visit, to get color again, explained how much I liked the color and the stylist (same as first) proceeded to change the color!! No discussion that she was changing it, and after the fact she tells me she doesnt do the same color twice, I suspect she didn't know what she used the first time. at the end the products were all lined up on the counter ready for the high pressure sales. Do your self a favor and go somewhere else!! Pros: Hours Cons: , Expensive!, Don't listen. more

your kidding me 12/27/2003

Seriously, does anyone go here? These ratings are ridiculous. This place looks more like Peir one imports than a decent hair salon. And as for the services, if your into Texas big hair, well you've found it. If you want a style that fits you, dont waste your time, not to mention money ($60 haircuts in Hillsboro?). Thanks for nothing. Pros: none Cons: expensive, pushy, far away more

Too pushy 10/10/2003

These people do great hair and hair color, but they push their super expensive products too much. The amount they charge for their services is too high as well. Pros: Good skill Cons: Overpriced, Pushy sales attitude more

Sucks 7/22/2003

The only good thing about Fratangelo's is my stylist Jenn. The decor is cheap, tacky and amaturish looking; wine is served in plastic or paper cups at the wrong tenmperature; the prices are way too high for a salon of this caliber and the towels used to dry my hair stink! I never see any other clients when I am there or any other stylists working. I wonder how they can possibly stay in business. Bottom line, Jenn is worth enduring this salon. There is no other reason to patronize this place. Pros: Jenn Cons: Ugly decor, Not "High End", Too Expensive more

QUALITY 4/24/2003

A very nice "Hair Spa". What a treat to walk in someplace and be treated like they actually appreciate your business. They remember your name, offer wine, administer a wonderful shiatsu shampoo and my color is so cool now. Thanks Fratangelos. I sent my neighbor for $20 referral already! Pros: $20 Spa Dollars, towel treatment, cool color Cons: zero more

misssusie 3/19/2003

I recently went to Fratangelo's for a haircut, after reading the reviews. Bottom line...my stylist did not listen to me. I wanted an easy to maintain hairstyle...she stilll did what she wanted and gave me a style that was not what I described. I don't mind paying a high price for a cut, however, not when I don't get what I expected. Oh yeah...she took several phone calls during our appointment also. Didn't feel like I got personal attention. Cute place, but just a bare notch above "Super Cuts." Not going back.... Pros: Location, Products, On Time Cons: Over priced, Tense atmosphere, Cut not what I wanted more

Knowledgeable. 2/28/2003

What is this guy who likens Fratangelos to an infomercial talking about? The styists here are well trained and really know their products and why they think you shuld be using certain things. They get business from referrals and its just common sense that they show you how to style & manage your hair so people notice and ask you about your stylist. I love the suggestions and tips I get from my stylist who is always traveling for training. Infomercial? You probably need serious help. Pros: knowledgeable, online appts, upbeat more

Wow 2/28/2003

A great place with a whole group pf people who know what service is all about. They are awsome! Thank you Fratangelo's for the lovely facial, glass of wine, terrific LA style and all around nice afternoon. I'll send you tons of people with that $20 referal program!!! Pros: $20 referal fee, up on trends, lots of parking Cons: none more

Over Rated and Pushy 1/30/2003

I felt like I made an appointment with an info-mercial. Pros: on max line, near Intel Cons: pushy, hard sell more

Expensive but worth it 1/27/2003

Very expensive but worth it. Had a bad color job and went there to get it fixed. My hair looks great. First person I saw after leaving commented on how great my hair looks. Products are expensive but work very well. Will be returning. Pros: skill of stylist Cons: price more

I Liked It 1/21/2003

Nice place, great cut, a bit pricey for products but customer service was practically flawless. I will visit again for facial service soon. Pros: open late/Sundays, parking more

Thank You! 1/10/2003

My girlfriends suprised me for my birthday this year with a Salon Party at Fratangelo's and it was a blast! We all got facials, our hair done, an awsome make-up application lots of great food and cosmo martinis! I never even heard of this place and we ended up going there because one of my friends goes to Jenn. We all had so much fun and will definately recommend the girls night out thing to all! (Portland City Grill afterwards) Thanks so much and I love all my products! Bon Jovi Rocks! ha/ha Pros: fun place, great energy, on the max! Cons: no maincures more

Can't Get Rid of Them 1/8/2003

I recently moved to Portland and chose Fratangelo's because it was rated the #1 salon. I have never been to a place where they have pushed so many expensive products on me! And if that was not enough -- they call me every 2 weeks with their new specials! Honestly, if I was interested in their specials -- I would be calling them. I do not think that the salon looks very impressive, and my hair looked like it could use another haircut one week later. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. And they must be looking for business, because they don't stop calling me! more

My hair turned out great! 12/26/2002

I went to them because of a customer who came into the Victoria's Secret where I work. I then found out they won this Best of Citysearch contest. I did think they were a little out of the way for me but I love my hair and love my products. I got a lot of compliments on my hair at work too. I'll be back. Pros: late hours, lots of interaction more

Best Haircut Ever! 12/19/2002

Ok. I went to Fratangelos because a friend referred me. The stylist my friend recommended was booked until like February of 2003 so I went with their latest hire Sarah. She was so cool and not only was this one of the better haircuts I've ever gotten, it was only 26 bucks! Thats what pushed it over the top. Thank you Sarah, I'll be back in 6 weeks. Pros: lots of extras, fun environment, no traffic Cons: no other shops more

What a great time! 12/18/2002

I went in for this Paprika Peel facial that I keep hearing so much about and it was amazing! Janette did a great job and suggested I get my hair done afterward. That part I was reluctant about but was very pleasently suprised. Jen worked wonders and i had a ball at this place. I loved both services and all my goodies. 10+ Pros: parking, hours, on-line appts Cons: no massage more

Yes, they do mens hair 12/16/2002

I have to admit I first visited Fratangelos because it being across the street from Intel. I also like the on-line appointment feature. Madeline is my stylist and I now even use gel from time to time. Try them, a real down to earth group that has lots of fun in there. Great cut as usual Madeline. Thank you. Pros: on-line appts, parking, near Intel more
