My entire family has thick, curly, difficult to cut hair. My daughter and I both require a skilled stylist and someone who knows how to thin and texture hair without using thinning shears. This gives the appearance of a smooth, well shaped head, but it also requires precision balance and movement in the cut, very difficult. We normally go to Toni & Guy. There are some very skilled, formally trained, hair artists at some upscale places and they can do amazing things with your hair, however, this place is not one of them. I think the owner Jen aspires to be that, but she doesn't have the talent. I was charged $95 for a shampoo, cut and style for my daughter. Then Jen tried to push a bunch of over priced products on me. I went to this place because I didn't want to drive to Portland to go to Toni & Guy, (where the stylists are trained in these techniques). This haircut was like a trainee hair cut at Toni & Guy. She did not know how to deal with the body and bulk of the hair even though she assured me she did. They have spent a lot of money on the build-out of the Salon and are trying to fool people into thinking they are upscale. Excuse me; you have to have the skill and talent to go with the luxury. People can see through the facade. She also tried to speak French to us, put us in massage chairs, offered us wine and then bragged on what a talent she is. She tried to talk hair with me and name drop some of the more famous and notable hair people in the industry. None of this would have bothered me if I just could have received the haircut I paid for. What a waste of money. I WON'T GO BACK! I wish I would have taken the advice of the other negative reviews on this board but I was in a bind. From now on I will drive to Portland and go only to Toni & Guy. I hope this helps anyone who is thinking about going there.
Pros: Nice interiors, they offer relaxing music and a nice atmosphere. They also offer wine
Cons: The stylists tout themselves as highly trained and that was not my experience.
