Best

We were refered there by the downtown Toyota dealer for Toyota maintenance. They are better than any dealership auto maintenance and repair experience I've ever had. Good people...

Worst

I give them two stars because the actual work that was done wasn't bad, I have no complaints with that. It was the customer service and the way they treated me that makes me want...

THE WORST 7/18/2012

THEY WILL SCREW UP YOUR APPOINTMENT, FORGET TO ORDER THE PART, ORDER THE WRONG PART, MISQUOTE YOU AND BLAME IT ON THE NEW GUY OR THE ACCOUNT WHO WHOS JOB IS NOT TO ANSWER THE PHONE BUT ALWATS ANSWERS THE PHONE. HOW DO THEY STAY IN BUSINESS? Y DO I HAVE TO GIVE THEM 1 STAR. THEY DONT DESERVE ANY more

Best auto repair & maintenance experience 7/8/2010

We were refered there by the downtown Toyota dealer for Toyota maintenance. They are better than any dealership auto maintenance and repair experience I've ever had. Good people and good work. We've since gone back for auto body repair and the work was perfect. Now we take all our vehicles to Seatle Automotive. more

Don't go there 2/2/2010

If you want your car back any time soon. They do not know how to assess damage or project a date for fix. There are many companies that can do this job- do a little bit of research before you submit to an ever-changing data on when your car will be available. I am very sorry that I decided to use them. They have the decency and courtesy upfront but once you have left your car, you may never get an update unless you harangue and call. more

Awesome Folks, Awesome Work 2/27/2009

Seattle Automotive did a great job repairing the rear bumper on my Audi A4, and I'd trust them on big repairs too. They come highly recommended by a new-car dealership here in Seattle, and the great service I received confirms why they have a good reputation. The location on Dexter, a few blocks off Denny, is easy to find. more

They are ok 9/16/2008

Good: The people. Bad: The location. Improvements: Get a better location. Please!. more

Awesome service 11/14/2007

I have a 96 Toyota Camry and someone hit me from the back and needed repair. Called Seattle Toyota and they e-mailed me a list of recommended body shop - they use original Toyota parts, not after market parts. After reading some reviews, I went to 2 of them, one being Seattle Automotive. Tony and his staff were so great. The best were: 1. They handled everything with the insurance company, I didn't have to do a thing. I told them I want original parts from Toyota, and they did it. 2. They have their own rental cars. No mileage limits (well, you have to be reasonable). I don't have to call another car rental company to make another arrangement. 3. Nothing out of my pocket. Basically I went in unannounced in the morning and got of of there in 30-40 mins with rental car and headed to work. Got my car back in 5 days. What even more surprising, they detailed my car inside and out and made the 96 Camry look new! I also asked Tony about some repairs I want to do and he gave me great options that make sense and save me money. Thanks Tony! I am very impressed. I don't usually write reviews but I have to give Seattle Automotive this one. I will be back. more

Outstanding Customer Service!! 7/28/2007

My car was totaled in an accident and it was towed to Seattle Automotive after business hours. I went in the next day to figure what to do about my car, rentals, etc.. The staff and owner (Tony) were amazing. To me, they were angels. I was shaken and still in shock from being sideswiped, not to mention pretty badly shaken physically. When I mentioned that I had to get a rental car, Maria put my mind at ease explaining that they were taking care of everything for me! Sure enough, I had a rental within a few minutes and they handled all of the paperwork and coordination between my insurance company and them so the only thing I ended up doing the day after my accident was going to their office, giving the necessary info and then getting my rental car - all under a half hour. Then...off to the doctors. Everyone that I came across during this interaction were friendly, empathic towards my pain and genuinely seemed to care about my situation. This really helped sooth my nerves about next steps the day after a major car accident. It took me awhile to get a new car due to some very hectic circumstances. I was dismayed and surprised to find that my insurance only covered costs for a rental car for a certain amount of time. I had gone beyond that time before I found this out, so i ended up owing a lot of money. It was awful. The people at Seattle Automotive were so great about working with me to ensure I could afford the extra I had to pay for the rental. Unfortunately for me, when I finally did get a new car, I backed out of a parking stall and accidentally hit a pole, damaging my new car! Frustrating! But again, Tony and his team were so GREAT! What was an extremely frustrating and costly situation was tempered by the excellent service I received from Seattle Automotive. They gave me the best estimate for repairs, they took the time to educate me on the things that needed to be done, they made sure I got my car in for repairs quickly, they gave me a ride when my car was in the shop, they were quick, efficient, and they made me feel like they were all working for my best interests and not to cushion their bottom line. Wow. Rare (although the way they do business, they deserve to have a very healthy bottom line). The silver lining in this series of accidents was discovering that there is still neighborhood-friendly businesses like this that provide fantastic customer service and great prices. I would recommend this place of business to anyone and everyone who needs this kind of service! more

Excellent Service 11/7/2006

i was surprised to read of s.p.'s experience above, because mine was totally different. the people working the phones were exceptionally pleasant and efficient. the shop went above and beyond expectations, bringing in the repair for less than the insurance company's check. (it was to repair damage caused by an accident.) i can't imagine better service, frankly, and i intend to recommend this company to everyone. more

Poor communication with customers 3/7/2006

I give them two stars because the actual work that was done wasn't bad, I have no complaints with that. It was the customer service and the way they treated me that makes me want to give them a 1 star! Here's my story . . . I was on my way to work one morning and BAMM out of no where was hit on the drivers side, from a lady who decided to gun it out of her driveway without checking for other cars, real smart. Anyway I pull over, she's ok, I'm ok, I check my car and at first glance everything looks ok. I tell her that I'll get it checked out and find out how much the damage is going to be and give her a call. So I take off for Seattle Automotive, and on the way there my car starts to smoke, and I have to be towed to the place. Ok so I get there and they tell me that they will take a look at it for me and give me a call after they asses the damage and find out how much its going to cost. This is the part in the story where things get a bit ugly. First they tell me that what caused my car to smoke was not a result of my car being hit, and that it was going to cost me some obscene amount of money. Then they tell me that if I want they will tell the insurance guy that it was a result of the accident and the lady should pay for it. hmmmm what to do what to do. I get a call a few days later about how much it is going to cost me to get the car fixed. (Not cheap) I've also been on bike now for a few days, and am a bit irritated about not being called earlier letting me know that my car is still there and that they are doing the best they can to asses the damage in a timely matter. Every time I called to ask about my car I got a different answer. I could just picture them saying to themselves that this was a girl who didn't know a thing about cars and that they could really tell me anything they wanted and I would buy into it. At one point they even told me that I had to spend the money that I got from the insurance company at their auto shop and that it was impossible to take my car to another shop, this isn't true right? I'm getting all heated up just recalling all the details! The next thing that happened was that they started work on my car without me approving the work or the quote that they gave me, can you believe it? When they called to let me know my car was done, they said they would wash and detail it for me. So I dropped off my rental car and got dropped off there. Like I said above the work on the car looked good, the car itself was not washed or detailed - they said they knew I needed my car back soon and they didn't want to keep me any longer. They said I could drop it off one day that week and they would wash it up for me - They really were not thinking on this one - I had already got rid of the rental car, and I really didn't feel like biking it for another day!! To top the whole thing off, when I got in my car my air conditioning was broken. They said they had nothing to do with that, even though I gave them my car with a working air conditioner. They promptly gave me a $300 quote to get it fixed. The next time I have car trouble I'll be looking for a different business to spend my money and time with - any recommendations? more

Parks for sure 6/15/2005

Seattle Automotive has any part you can imagine needing. The staff is great, very well educated on all types of cars. I go in just to pick their brain about automotives. more

Great body shop 6/2/2004

If you have a fender bender or you just totaled your roadster, these guys can make it go away. They're perfectionists to a fault, and always do an exceptional job. Drive by their place and check out the parking lot next to the shop (always full). They're recommended by most of the high-end dealers in town (that's how I found them). more
