Still the best food in Greek Town 5/4/2009

We have been going to Greek Town for many years. Roditys is still the most consistent restaurant in Greek Town. Good food, good service, reasonable prices and free valet parking. What else can you ask for? Pros: Very Good Food and Free Parking Cons: Busy on weekends more

Left something to be desired 8/15/2007

I took a group of friends out to Roditys to let them experience some Greek food, while trying to avoid the expensive prices at the other places in the area. I've been to a number of Greek restaurants, so I thought I would share the experience. Pros: Good service Cons: Bland food more

Outstanding Food and Service 1/26/2007

I have been to other Greek Town Restaurants up and down the street, today I was invited for a party of 35 people at Roditys Restaurant. I was really impressed the food and service was so much better then the other places that I had dined before. I will be returning to this Restaurant again. Pros: Free Parking, Good Service, Family Friendly and Good Food more

Didn't taste right 5/27/2006

I visited Rodity's recently with friends for the first time in about 7 years. I must say that it has changed alot. I remember everything being great, but not anymore. The tzatziki didn't have enough yogurt and had way to much garlic. The lamb chops were O.K. but to tough. One of my friends had Greek Chicken and said that it was very hard. We didn't want to stay for dessert. I felt embarrassed, because I recommended it, but not anymore. Sorry Rodity's, but it's over. more

Old World Greek At Its Finest 5/9/2006

I spent time in Greece when in the USAF. This place is your classic ""Greek Diner"" style of restaurant (like in Greece NOT New Jersey). I have been there several times, and I am always seated promptly and treated well. Service is top-notch, professional, and FAST. I love the Greek Chicken. The green beans are exceptional.. The salads are great, and the flaming cheese is delicious AND fun! I have tried the other Greek places, but this one feels like ""home"" to me!! Pros: FOOD, PROMPT SERVICE, GREAT STAFF more

Authentic Greek 10/5/2005

Best food in Greek Town. Tasty gyros , saganaki with a glass of roditys wine. Avoid on saturday nights. You can never go wrong at roditys. Pros: Service, food, Free Parking more

NOT GOOD 9/9/2005

I always eat at Greektown, but never again at Roditys. The service and value is O.K., but still not worth it to me. The moussaka was very watery and the lamb ver salty. I don't know how anybody could give it 4 stars. NOT ME. more

Not a good choice 5/16/2005

Roditys was recommended to me by friends after I ate at other Greektown restaurants. The service was O.K. The value was O.K. , but the quality of the food didn't eqaul the value. The food didn't taste fresh, especially the chicken. The desserts were O.K., but the place isn't worth going back to for me. more

By far the best greek restaurant. 4/16/2005

I have been to all the greek restaurants in greek town. Roditys is my favorite, great food very good service and reasonable prices, they are not out to get your wallet. They count on your repeat business. You will not be dissapointed. Pros: Free parking, extended wine list, best lamb dishes Cons: wait on weekends more

SALTY !!! 4/1/2005

I ate with a group at Roditys on March 25, 2005 because it was highly recommended. We had lamb, eggplant and the grecian chicken. The lamb and eggplant was so salty and the chicken was tough and didn't taste fresh. We complained and complained and not once did the waiter offer to bring a new dish. The prices are O.K. but still not worth it. more

It wasn't Greek to me 12/30/2004

My family and I have always enjoyed Greek dining. On December 27, 2004 we had lunch at Rodity's and I must say that it didn't taste Greek to me. The lamb chops had no taste to them at all, I mean none. My wife had the Grecian chicken. I tasted it and it was very tuff and not fresh. The waiter was very polite about our complaints and called the manager over, who I'm sorry to say was very rude. He began waving his arms around and yelling that all the food is fresh. He made it sound like it was my fault. I asked for the check, payed it and left. I don't recommend Roditys. Why? Because it's not Greek. more

Good Food 12/15/2004

Usually people give reviews when they are dissapointed. If one is satisfied with the food, service, ambiance etc. 99% of the time they wont mention it. I am taking the time to tell everyone that Roditys is by far my favorite restaurant in Greek Town. Very good food, fast service and a friendly environment, not fancy but good. Pros: food, wines, service more

The worst 11/28/2004

I have never been so disappointed by a restaurant in my life. I had lunch on November 24, 2004 with clients. The restaurant was empty and still they couln't get anything right. The food(fish) didn't taste fresh and the man who claimed to be the owner was rude about it when I complained. I thought that I could at least get change from the female behind the bar to give to the valet parker. I had to practically beg for it as she wouldn't pry herself away from the one person she had at the bar. I couln't wait to get out of there. No wonder the restaurant was empty. I wouldn't eat there for free. Anyone that rates this place a 10 probably just works there. more

Best Lamb Dishes!!! 6/30/2004

I really enjoy eating at this restaurant, They have great food especially their lamb dishes. My favorite is the braised lamb shank, nobody in Greek Town makes it like Roditys. My wife loves their lamb chops. We highly recommend this restaurant. Pros: Food, Service, Free Parking more

no love, not Greek 9/22/2003

I've always had a pleasant experience with Greek dining. I didn't find any LOVE at the bumbling Rodity's. The 40 minute wait wasn't really the big problem. The fresh fish of the day was sea bass, so my buddy ordered that while I had another fish. Mine turned out fine, but the sea bass was nowhere near fresh. We gently told the waiter that there must be some mistake, but he got all defensive and started yelling at us about how their sea bass is fresh. Fresh fish isn't supposed to taste ""oceany"" and ""fishy."" The meat should be pretty delicate and soft, but it was just a nasty mess. Maybe the fish was the wrong way to go at this Greek joint, but even so, DON'T LIE about ""live catches."" Shouldn't there be some kind of food police? I can't bring myself to give this place a 2nd chance. Pros: free parking, bar Cons: noisy, liars, bad food more

friendly! 6/6/2003

The traditional rodditys wine is not very good--rather like alcoholic grape juice that's not sweet. However, the retsina is decent, and our spanakopita was huge, and filled to bursting with tasty spinach. The service was attentive and friendly. However, every time the busboys filled my water glass, they dripped water all over. Overall, though, the combination of good food and friendly service make this a better choice than the Greek Islands. Pros: friendly staff, robust retsina, big portions Cons: sloppy busboys more

I must concur, 10 is it! 2/13/2003

We have been to this part of Greek town before, and my wife and I agree, Roditis is very good. We went on a Thursday evening, and were seated immediately without having made prior reservations. The service was very prompt; the food was served fairly quickly, with no hint of being rushed. Very attentive staff. The food of course lived up to all the 10s listed, which very much influenced our decision to eat there. And with free valet parking for patrons, parking was a snap to boot. Opa I say, and be sure to have a bottle of Roditis with dinner. Pros: Great Food, Easy Parking, Freindly Staff Cons: Umm,, None more

The 10s were right! 1/6/2003

We were visiting Chicago and tried this place because of all the ""10"" ratings we found here. After the fiery display we were able to coax our finnicky son into try the saganaki, and he liked it. My husband and I couldn't get enough of this wonderful cheese. We shared dolmades, and spinach pie, and cod with garlic sauce. We put the garlic sauce on everything! Except, our course, on the baklava, which absolutely melted in our mouths. We'll be back! more

Better than others...almost like mother' 8/8/2002

If most Greek restaurants had to depend on Greeks for reviews and business.....they would probably FAIL, because ""nobody can cook as good as mother!"" Roditys' best compliment can be seen daily, as you look around and see the percentage of customers that are Greek and they probably have with them the most critical customer of all....""their mother!"" more
