My husband and I went last night with some friends. First I love the bar it is intimate and warm. I had a cosmo and it was perfect in a chilled glass. Dinner was excellent and the...

We were hesitant to go as we'd heard conflicting opinions. But, went for my wife's birthday and brought an expensive wine to celebrate - in fact wine was not on Reys wine list. L...

The Perfect Date Night Restaurant! 7/20/2005

Romantic Ambiance, Excellent Food, Wonderful Wait Staff, we'll be back again soon! I tried the Turtle soup on the recommendations of other reviewers and I'm glad I did. It was wonderful and the added sherry took it over the top. If you're not sure which wine to order ask your server, their recommendations were right on the money. I would have never combined chicken and crawfish, thank goodness Rey did, the French Quarter Chicken was delightful. Please don't take the kids, we moms need to be taken someplace special for date night! The only negitive comment is the Ratatouille. Someone forgot the key ingredient, eggplant and the vegetables didn't have proper time to cook and let the flavors meld. That being said, Rey's was a wonderful taste and dining experience, one that will please even the most discerning appetites. Definatly my date night favorite! Pros: prompt service, knowledgable wait sta more

Missed the New Orleans Flare 6/16/2005

Wow - I had high expecations based on the 9.7 point ranking, but Rey's didn't live up to the mark. The marketing tag line says ""Fine Dining with a French Quarter Flare"", but they forgot the french quarter. There are more Italian items on the menu than there are French Quarter specialties! Pros: Free Parking Cons: Expensive more

Thank you, from NHS Drafting Students 5/21/2005

Rey provided a special dinner for many of the drafting students that helped to provide artwork for Rey's. The students loved the service, food, and attention. Rey, Chef Jerry, Mike, Tom, Tim, Drew, Luis, Angie, Marie, Stacy, Jessica, and all the staff member came into the Mardi Gras room to let the students know how wonderful their work is and to provide encouragement. Rey came in and shared with the students about coming to America from Cuba, and making his dreams come true. Rey inspired the students to strive for success with hard work and determination to make their dreams come true. Jason served the students with flair, attention to detail, and respect. The food was fantastic and loved by all. Pros: great food, great service, great experience more

Cajun Stuffed Fish 4/15/2005

Tonight Jerry's special was cajun stuffed fish. It was the best fish I have ever tasted. The Talapia (I think that is how it's spelled) was stuffed with shrimp, crawfish, and lobster in a creole sauce. My husband and I thought we had died and gone to heaven. I love the way Rey lets Jerry get creative with his specials. The French Quarter chefs could learn a lot from Rey and Jerry. Pros: Food with Flavor, Service with a Flair, Art with a Theme more

Wow! We really loved this place! 3/12/2005

We tried out Rey's last night, and it was fantastic! First of all, the customer service is EXECELLENT! We really enjoyed the food and thought that everything was very reasonably priced. There seemed to be plenty of menu selections. The bread and food came out fast (but not too fast) and hot right out of the oven. The dinner portions were very large, and we really did not need a side dish. The coffee after dinner was absolutely the best we've tasted. This restaurant truly impressed us! Pros: Service, Atmosphere, Coffee Cons: Sides are Ala cart, No pasta sides? more

Better Food, Better Prices @ Rey's 2/22/2005

I have been to other fine dining establishments and steakhouse-style restaurants in the area, and Rey's is by far the best! The food is of exceptional quality and the prices are comparitively less! I love the Voodoo lounge with the cozy couches and fireplace. The bar staff is fun, yet still very professional. The ambience all over the restaurant is great, too, fully decorated with local artwork. This place has got character...A must try! Pros: Unique Menu, Bread Pudding!!!, Prices more

An Adventure Every Time We Go 2/20/2005

My husband and I are from New Orleans and have searched 15 years to find a place that was like home. Finally Reys opened and we found oysters cooked perfectly and food with great flavor. We go 3 to 4 times a week and split a salad, entree, and a side. We still have food to take home for lunch, and we are losing weight. I love the owner, the staff, and the chefs, they are the greatest. I love the ever changing artwork, and the feeling of finally being back home again. Pros: Rey, Staff, Artwork more

A Valentines Day to remember! 2/17/2005

I was reading the last review and was astounded by it. My date and I had a wonderful dinner at Rey's on Valentines Day. You cannot expect to go out to dinner on a busy day like that and not hear another table. I cannot wait to return and try some other items on the menu! The wine list has a very nice selection for a very reasonable price. more

So very disappointed! 2/15/2005

My husband made a reservation at this ""NEW NICE"" resturant for Valentines. For us a night out with out kids is a treat. What a disappointments. It's so over priced that they should be ashamed of them selves! Add to that the fact that they charged nearly $20.00 for a baked chicken breast, they dare to charge you for EVERY side dish. Your $25.00 entree comes with NOTHING! EVERY side item is $4.00 - $5.00 extra. My chicken was bland but tender. My husbands steak was tastey but no better then any other steakhouse only priced about $9.00 more. YES, it's has linen table clothes but the tables are so close that any conversation can be heard 2 tables away. Personally...I hated it and cried at the waste of not only our night out but the $100.00 for the awlful dinner! Pros: clean, take reservations Cons: over priced, food average more

Awesome! 2/7/2005

This place is the best place I have eaten at in a long time. Everything was perfect from the first moment I stepped in the building until I walked out! Thanks Rey for a wonderful evening! Pros: Rey & Waitstaff, Wine List, Food more

Loved It! 1/24/2005

I was down visiting my daughter in December and had the opportunity to dine at Rey's. We stumbled across it while planning to dine at Ruth's Chris. Joe (the host) talked us into staying and guaranteed us an amazing dinner. We enjoyed every bite, right down to the banana's foster....which was cooked by Rey himself, table side. I highly recommend the Osso Buco, it melts in your mouth! I cannot wait to visit again to eat here! Pros: REY! , Waitstaff, Menu more

Greatest Place 1/24/2005

LOVED IT! I celebrated my birthday there and had the greatest dinner and then the best time at the bar afterwards. Rey and Rob the bartender made the night most enjoyable! more

Magnificent 1/20/2005

I first visited Rey's during my company Holiday party. Because I had such an enjoyable experience, my husband and I now frequent Rey's. Not only is the service amazing but Rey himself actually takes time to personally accommodate the guests. The atmosphere is very relaxed and a great spot for business, romance, or a casual dinner with friends. I can't say enough about the entree choices. My favorite is the filet and I make sure to try a new side item each time I visit. I have enjoyed each and every one of them. I will be back. Thanks Rey!! Pros: great food, great service, great atmosphere more

Rey's on Buck Jones Road in Cary 1/20/2005

My wife and I are originally from NYC and have been to the best restaurants throughout the USA, Europe and Asia. I must say, Rey's is among the best of the best in both food quality and preparation. Love the steaks, the veal, the chicken and the seafood. The service, the ambiance and the personal attention is over the top for the Triangle. In our opinion, there is not a single restaurant in this area that surpasses Rey's. This is truly a fine dining experience and in our opinion a 5 star establishment right here in Cary, North Carolina. Finally! Pros: food, ambiance, service more

  • Founded in 2004 with the vision of quality, I thought that if we never compromised the quality of our food, and served meals in a comfortable, relaxed surrounding with warm, friendly service… people would keep coming back. It worked! And, we've never changed our vision. I gave my name to the restaurant out of a sincere sense of pride and confidence in our menu and staff. We pledge to maintain high quality standards so we can enjoy your valued patronage again and again. We look forward to showing you a fabulous dining experience!
