I'm not too happy because I feel taken advantage of. Heard my AC buzzing early on a Saturday morning so called Radiant. Was told that because it was "off hours" that a $159 trip...

Professional, reliable and fast 2/20/2009

Our house is more than 30 years old and the plumbing is beginning to show it. We have called on Jason Zuhn at Radiant Plumbing several times and each time he has been professional, reliable and fast. Most recently, I called Radiant at 6 a.m. about a leak that had gotten out of hand. Jason was there the same morning, told me what the problem was and came back the next morning to install a new faucet while I was at work (because I wanted to buy the replacement faucet myself, I asked whether he could do it the next day). It's good to deal with someone you can trust who does good work. more

On Time, Honest, Great Work! 2/20/2009

This is the third time we've used Radiant and been REALLY happy every time. The phone call an hour ahead helps us plan. They are reliable and tidy. Jason Zuhn seems to be our own personal plumber! Proficient, polite and friendly! First time, checked what we thought was a leak at the base of the toilet. He and his partner took the time to explore, then explained exactly what was happening -- no real issues and only charged us a service call. Second time, Jason installed new bathroom faucets (3), tub set and shower head. When we ran into a fixture issue, Jason explained it and helped us find a solution. The charge was REALLY reasonable, they cleaned up entirely afterward, warranteed their work, and were super-polite/friendly. This last time, we noticed a leak in the tub set, so he popped out, explained what was happening, fixed it in no time and didn't charge us a dime. Great work, Jason! Hope we don't have to call you again; but if we do, we know we can get good work done! more

Prompt, quick, and efficient service 2/19/2009

I live in SW Austin, noticed puddles of water it late in the evening, spent the night cleaning up, looking for the source, and researching plumbers. Called Radient in the morning and they were able to get us a morning appointment. Jason gave us call ahead of time to say he'd be over in 45 min. He looked at the problem, explained the situation very clearly, and gave me a reasonable estimate. 1 hours later everything was fixed perfectly. Jason even stuck around to double check the meter to satisfy my concerns about other leaks. Very happy with the service and would recommend Jason @ Radient. Pros: Quick and prompt service more

Promt and Courteous 2/17/2009

Our business had an issue with a drinking fountain problem, and called Radiant Plumbing on the recommendation of several friends. One of their guys came out within a couple of hours even though it really wasn't an emergency. He diagnosed the problem pretty quickly - and even though it turned out not to be a plumbing issue, we had him clean out all the lines while he was there. We were impressed with the plumber's promptness, courtesy, expertise, and well, how nicely dressed he was. That's not been our experience with plumbers in the past. And they have cool vans. We will definitely call this company again. Pros: Prompt, quick to diagnose, courteous more

Good service, Expect to pay a premium for it UPDATED 12-23 12/22/2008

I contact RP for a toilet and valve replacement. They were prompt in arrival and worked up a price list of different options. I chose the cheapest options which was still 1100+. I hadn't done my research on toilets so I assumed that their price was fair considering how many positive reviews they had. The work was completed fine without issue. The issues started after I began some additional research. After looking at some toilets, I think I found the one they installed and it was listed at 250. If that was the case, i had just paid 850 in labor. I call RP to get the model number of the toilet at least 4 times so I could see if the price at the store was off or they just jacked up the price on materials and labor. As of now (Dec. 22) they have not returned my call. The last statement they made was they didn't know if there was a model number!!. Let this be a lesson to get multiple bids for any work. I also asked them to itemize the work so I could see if the labor or materials were overpriced and they did not respond. I should have paid the 40 service fee and sent them on their way. UPDATED: Brad from RP called me the next day and provided me with the model numbers that I had requested. He explained there was a breakdown in communicaiton at the office and this issue should have been resolved the first time I called. He was sincere in his apology for the time it took to resolve the issue and offered to refund the service contract and a discount on work that was coded improperly. With the proper pricing of the work and being able to determine the cost of the toilet, the price was reasonable. I appreciate the time Brad took to call and explaining the situation and offering to make it right. Pros: prompt Cons: no itemization of work done more

Best Plumber and Problem solver 11/24/2008

Jesse came out from Radiant Plumbing promptly to deal with my emergency. He was very professional and deffintiely knows his stuff. The fact that they give you a diagnosis AND a price for the job not by the hour was very helpful and accurate. He even wore litlle booties every time he came in my house!!! Thank you radiant and most of all thank you Jesse! Kind Regards, Sharon more

These folks were great. They explained work and cost upfront and never deviated from their estimate. 10/24/2008

This is my first review in citysearch. My house is old and the cast iron drainage pipe under the slab had rusted out. Radiant came in and in a highly professional manner located the problem, jackhammered through the slab and made the repairs in a minimal amount of time. When they said they would be here, they were here. What they said they were going to do got done professionally. I was very much satisfied with their work and the cost was not excessive. Radiant was the second company called in on this job . The first company spent a week and half and had not found the problem and their estimate kept going up to eventually exceed 13k dollars. I fired them and called Radiant. they completed the job in a few days and the cost was less than half of the first company's final estimate. Pros: Thumbs UP!!! Cons: None. more

Excessive Cost, Subpar Service 10/9/2008

I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person and typically look online for reviews of companies before I give them my business. I contacted Radiant Plumbing in order to come inspect a main sewer line clog in my home. I was informed that there was a non-refundable dispatch fee of $39 that would be waived if any service was performed. The plumber that arrived inspected the problem and gave me a written quote of $417 for removal and replacement of a wax ring on the downstairs toilet and a sewer line clearing. I agreed to the service and the plumber removed the toilet, cleared the line with a simple plumber's snake and reinstalled the toilet with a new wax ring. I was told that I would have a 90 day warranty on this service. 30 days later the same problem returned. I called RP to request warranty repair and they set up an appointment for 8 AM two days later. The plumber (not the plumber that did the initial work) finally arrived at 1 PM. After re-diagnosing the problem, I was told that sewage clearing was not covered under warranty, only the wax ring replacement (which I would argue was unnecessary). I was quoted a price of more than $600 for camera inspection and sewer drain clearing which would not be covered under warranty. I asked the plumber to leave because I believed that if I was to spend more than $1000 with a company, the least they could do was provide a warranty. I called a different plumbing company that came out, inspected the line with a camera, found tree roots clogging the line, and cleared the blockage for $294, no dispatch fee, and a 6 month warranty. I cannot speak for the entire business, but the two plumbers that I had dispatched to my home from RP I would not recommend to anyone. They were both very polite and did give me a quote up front, so I have no complaints about their conduct. However, I felt that their plumbing skills (at least with drain clearing), didn't match the price they were asking, and they wouldn't honor the warranty. Pros: Politeness Cons: Plumbing Skills, Warranty more

Best Plumbing Service in Austin 8/27/2008

Radiant did a wonderful job at our house. We had multiple contractors who were late, broke things, or just did not show. Brad P. with Radiant was patient, always finding a solution to our challenges. more

They were entirely excellent. 8/19/2008

We had a number of small repairs and one large one, and they were extraordinarily efficient, courteous, and competent. You will hear that they are expensive, and they are. But they are remarkably pleasant, reliable, and professional. An excellent outfit, and I'm happy found them. By the way, our plumber was Brad, who deserves all these superlatives. more

Would hire again! 8/17/2008

This is my first review here on Citysearch, but I wanted to write in that Jason was prompt, reliable and professional! Would hire Radiant Plumbing again. more

Unprofessional 8/7/2008

After calling and making a appointment for a estimate on a water heater replacement, I was assured that I would get a estimate when the technician was there. I paid $39.00 for the technician to tell me that he needed to go back to the office and get the pricing together, he would fax or e-mail that night. TWO days later, when I finally did get the choices for water heater repair/ replacement on paper, they were hand written and not on letterhead, with no mention of company name. I made a return call to the office and was told that they do not do the estimates and would type the current estimate to "look professional". It is sad you have to ask people to be professional and timely. I will not recommend Radiant Plumbing. more

Great, fast, thorough service 6/29/2008

This company is just great. We had one big problem, a mystery leak that had completely drenched our hall closet, and an assortment of smaller ones (dripping toilets, leaking shower faucets, etc.). We called Radiant on a Sunday night and Brad came out on Monday to do some diagnostics, and then returned with a helper (Jonathan) a couple of days later to do the repairs. The guys were here for about 6 hours straight and fixed everything. The wet closet had resulted from pipes leaking behind a shower and, although they did have to go through a wall to remedy the problem, they really took care to do the minimum amount of damage & cleaned up extremely thoroughly after themselves. Brad was so friendly and professional and explained everything very clearly. He tested all the other pipes he could see to make sure they were sound. He discovered that our main water shut-off at the street was frozen into place (pretty alarming) and stayed an extra 90 minutes to repair that for us. Inexpensive? Nope, but we were really delighted with the job they did and would recommend them to anyone. Great service and extremely friendly office staff--we talked to Jennifer a couple of times. And one more real plus for us -- Brad and Jonathan are definitely dog-friendly. We have three big Goldens so it really helps if contractors who come to our home like dogs & are comfortable around them. Pros: Fast, friendly, excellent service Cons: Not cheap, but you get your money's worth for sure more

I've found my new plumber 5/26/2008

After discovering a strange water leak I went searching for a plumbing service. After reading some positive user reviews on YELP I visited Radiant's website. The website was inviting and I could tell that Radiant could be "my kind of plumber". So, I called. Jennifer answered. She was so helpful and cheerful...she literally brightened my day. We made an appointment. Jennifer called back 1/2 hour before the technician's visit as a courtesy call. Brad P. showed up on-time and was courteous & professional. He recommended a solution that protected my future interests and demonstrated a significant knowledge of the product and the root cause. He's finishing up now. I'm extremely pleased and have found my new plumber. Thanks! more

Great service, very responsive, fast work 3/25/2008

We had an after hours emergency with our shower. We called everyone in town, and Radiant's dispatcher was the nicest, most professional and most accommodating. While the after-hours call was expensive, they fixed the problem in a matter of minutes (after we'd spent about 6 hours trying to fix it ourselves). The plumber who came on the call gave up his own birthday party to help us out. Hopefully, he still got to have some fun. You can't go wrong with these guys - they are very professional, very knowledgeable and very nice. Not cheap, but in this case, you get what you pay for. Pros: Customer service, knowledge, quick and efficient Cons: Not cheap more

Large & Small Plumbing Jobs Done Right The First Time & Within Your Budget! 3/18/2008

We have used Radiant before and they are always prompt, courteous and professional. Whether it be a large job (replacing a water heater in the attic), or a list of small 'fix-it' items that we are doing today, Radiant Plumbing gets the job done right the first time, within your budget, and with your customer satisfaction in mind. What a pleasure! Pros: Prompt, Professional more

Competent and polite service 3/15/2008

I used Radiant Plumbing for the first time based on a referral from a friend. The technician was polite, friendly, explained the problem and gave me several options. He was able to install some new fixtures at a reasonable price and went above and beyond by cleaning the grout and re-caulking the tile around the tub. He also flushed my solar water heater for me. The folks at the office were also polite and accommodating and worked with me to find a time for an appointment that fit my schedule. They didn't even mind when I called to check on the status - didn't get snippy or give me some kind of lame excuse when I asked how the day was going. I will definitely use them again. Pros: competence, professionalism Cons: had to wait for the technician to show up; reasonable prices but not cheap more

Charge for Estimates 2/25/2008

They won't even give you an estimate unless you pay upfront! Save your time and get another contractor. Pros: Fancy trucks Cons: Spendy estimates more

Excellent Support & Service 1/8/2008

We had a "nightmare" experience with a gas leak problem and City and Texas Gas permitting/re-connection. The only positive thing that kept us going during this ordeal was the support and service that Radiant's staff provided. We really felt you were on our side and realize that you provided exceptional service. Thanks! Pros: Excellent Customer Service & Support more

Rip Off !! Waaaaayy too expensive! 12/23/2007

Prompt, yes. Friendly, yes. The biggest rip off ever, yes! Their prices are ridiculous. You will be ripped off! You can find a quality, local plumber for 1/2 the price easily. Other plumbers have laughed about their prices. Pros: Got here quickly. Cons: Horrible price! I am a woman and even I know better. I more

When you hire Radiant Plumbing, you are hiring an awesome plumber. If we wouldn't want them over to our house for dinner, they don't work here, period. Not only are our technicians knowledgeable and courteous, but they're all-around great folks as well, who will go out of their way to make sure that you and your family are comfortable with your plumbing. We stand behind all of our work with a 2-year warranty. And not some "super store" type warranty with all manner of loopholes and outs for us- if it isn't right, we'll fix it. Simple as that. We believe in the work we do here. So much that my face is plastered on the side of all our trucks. It's my way of keeping an eye on the guys!
