Qwest worked great for me. 6/8/2007

From living in Minneapolis to moving to the Denver area, Qwest has always been a great company for me. I was one of the first customers in Minneapolis to get Broadband DSL and it always worked great for me. Later, when I moved from a Denver suburb to Denver, my phone number moved with me, and I now get 7 meg Broadband DSL in my house (which has 95 year old phone lines it!) When I called to get the faster high speed internet, the customer service person pointed out that I could save $5 bucks a month by rolling my existing DirecTV bill into my Qwest bill. One less bill to pay, and save a couple of bucks? Yeah, I like that. Honestly, I felt they were really trying to help me. My good experience with Qwest is amplified for me because of the poor experiences I've had with various cable companies over the years. When you go from "Your snowy picture is because you live in a fringe area" from the cable company to "I'm the Qwest technician calling from your back alley to let you know that you're all hooked up and ready to go" it's a good thing. more

If you live in Denver, you probably know about Qwest. Many people complain about their poor customer service, although supposedly Qwest is trying to correct that -- at least they are trying to change their image, through constant TV ads. Their prices are ridiculously high, compared to what they quote you. They advertise reasonable prices for phone service and DSL, then pile on so many fees that their original quote is laughable and you feel like a sucker for believing it. Now that there are other companies offering alternative phone service, perhaps they will start to get their act together. more

Why the high price 3/26/2006

I have been subscribing to Qwest services for over 3 years now. Qwest is a good company and has good customer service. However, I believe the prices are too high for someone to pay. You can get cell phone service, digital TV, DSL, long distance, and a phone number through them. With every item they have, I have found cheaper ways to go about getting the service. Digital TV? Don't use DirecTV, use Dish, or get cable, not digital, but still good. Cell Phones? Many choices here instead of Qwest Long Distance, Phone Number? Get Vonage or Packet 8 and get unlimited long distance and a phone number for less than half the price they charge. DSL? Go with another DSL provider or get cable and get faster speeds. Qwest is a good company, but overall I don't like being forced to choose one company for anything. I like to have the choice of switching to someone else. more

Qwest Must Die! 1/31/2006

Okay, I know I'm preaching to the choir, but these guys are just terrible! A recent call to them to have them add a phone line and several jacks to our small office resulted in Qwest sending us a technician who didn't even speak English. None--not a word. He spend four hours bungling the job, and finally one of the guys in the office just ran the line himself while the technician stood and watched. Then he added the wrong number of jacks (too few). Of course, they billed us for the full amount. THEN, you call them and after being shuttled form billing to customer service to tech support, they finally acknowledge the error (an hour of being on hold later) and make arrangement so send out yet another technician week later. He did it correctly, thank heavens. But then we were overcharged for the second visit. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they don't make it easy. And that glaring downtown SIGN!! C'mon Qwest--be a good neighbor and offer great service and we'll love you again! more
